    This dude doesn’t get it. Vinyl is plastic and is junk. The quality of a window is about the frame longevity and preserving the seals. This guy is harping on the wrong things.

    • @replacementwindowsreviews

      There are a lot of junky vinyl windows out there. In terms of frame longevity, I will take an Okna 800 DX over an RBA any day of the week even at the same price (vinyl over the composite) - there is a reason why high quality vinyl window manufacturers' warranties cover more for longer than RBA...

      @@replacementwindowsreviews That's a very silly way of thibking about how businesses work. Plastic manufacturing and cheap glass packs are very inexpensive to produce and typically only a handful of large company's afford heavy marketing that causes prices for their windows to go up.... Rba nationally spends the most money on advertising than any other remodeling product out there. That's where the costs really go. Their window is definitely a little better than vinyl. Fiberglass is still above both though. Also rba gives you one of the best glass packs available from Cardinal while most vinyl window co pants give you waylower quality glass. You should learn some business and manufacturing if the trade before you start spewing off inaccurate statements. I would never purchase rba but gotta feed facts.

    I will never understand the term tactics, you ask for a “ Quote “ because you aren’t buying you are “ shopping around “ and they give you a quote. You are not required to buy!!!!!! They will however give you many incentives if you choose to purchase. The sales rep who makes his living ONLY if he does a good job and you buy while he is there!!!! It’s part of EVERY SALES PITCH EVER!!!! You call for a free estimate they give you an outstanding presentation and show you why you should use them. You are offered the quote and if you want to do it they will give you a discount so you can save them the time of Follow up call backs and helping them be a more efficient business. Home owners lie as well they don’t have both parties present to get the estimate like they are asked to do. If you don’t speak to both decision makers how can you be sure the other will retain all the info ??? ALL YOU WILL HEAR IS THE PRICE !!! NOT the quality or warranty or parts and pieces that the salesman MUST spend hours on to relay all the information to you with the hopes that he does a good job and you will purchase. You get an idea on price from, videos like this which are inaccurate most of the time. No one wants to waste time including the Salesman who wants to help and do what ever he can to get you what you need. But home owners are rude to them AFRAID that we have some magical words that will get you to buy!!!!! As a lifelong salesman do yourself a favor and be honest with the salesman tell him what you really need so he doesn’t have to waste 3 hours trying to pull it out of you! Most of us want to help, both people need to be present its your friggin house its a major project for your home. You didn’t buy it without the other person there. Prices are always high to anyone I have sold windows for 350 to 500 dollars and people were enraged. You want good quality which in my lifetime never comes cheap and a good install which also can never come cheap as well. It’s funny, you buy a house for 500K and in 6 years it’s worth a Million dollars. Do you ever feel bad that the price went up that much and you Made that money on the house? You take the profit you can make, but when a company wants to make a profit they should eat their costs so you can pay what you want!!!!! You will spend 20 dollars on a martini at a bar when you can buy a bottle for almost the same price and yet you don’t think you’re being robbed at the restaurant. But god forbid a window guy or a roofing guy make a profit or more than you think it’s worth. Keep in mind you have no knowledge of the business and what it takes to do it. LAST THING IF THEY GAVE YOU THEIR BOTTOM LINE YOU WOULD STILL ASK FOR MORE SO QUIT COMPLAINING

    • @replacementwindowsreviews
      @replacementwindowsreviews  3 месяца назад

      I see your point Joe. However, if the price starts out at $50K and ends up at $25K -- isn't that somewhat of a tactic? They never intended to see it at $50K - they intended the price to be $25K.

      @@replacementwindowsreviews Salesman give a FREE ESTIMATE!! All of us say in the presentation that part is free. What do we require for a free estimate ? Both parties to listen to us so if and when you do decide to purchase you both understand fully what the company is offering. There isn’t a single other service that will come out for free plumbers and electricians are all paid to come do an analysis. We show up and the wife takes off, even after we tell you on the phone that all parties must be present. We also say early on that we would love to earn your business today and for those people ready to do the project we will offer promotions and incentives. Your ESTIMATE IS COVERED FOR A YEAR. The discounts are to get you on the schedule and for those people who feel like we are good fit for them. GOOD SALESMAN MAKE IT CLEAR that that’s the case. SO your discount has benefits why? Because if you are willing to make an informed decision today we will reward that individual with a great price. You can keep the one year price and shop till your hearts content. In home salesman make $0 for the quote or estimate and good ones work their asses off to give you all info for free. You don’t have to ever purchase from a company and bigger companies will have a bigger overhead and cost of doing business. It always amazes me how cheap and frugal people are with their homes. If their car needs fixing they spend it right away and when it’s really bad they will buy a brand new one immediately. A car a DEPRECIATING asset takes priority over and APPRECIATING asset like their home. NO ONE BITCHES AT NIKE when they sell sneakers for 160 bucks or Starbucks when they charge 6 dollars for coffee or a great Steak house that charges 75 to 100 for a great steak. But sell a window or door or HVAC PRODUCT for more money than the cheap local guy with no overhead no expenses no real warranty of way to service you correctly and its ridiculous. People get upset when we price and they realized that cant afford it or have to settle for less, or god forbid put it on a budget plan like they do with every other thing they buy like their IPHONES, Mortgages ETC.. We ask this at every appointment in the beginning, IF YOU THINK WE ARE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SAY YES IF NOT NO IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ALL SAY ???? NEVER YES OR NO its I need to sleep on it, I need to talk to my brother who purchased his windows 20 years ago so he knows about them. Homeowners give the same excuses every time we have to navigate through the BS to find out what is holding them back and once we do they usually will purchase IF done correctly. HOMEOWNERS are dishonest as well and as a good Salesman you have to show them that you are just like them a hard working person there to help them make a good decisions that adds value to their home and project. It’s not a tactic it’s a discount for a good customer who wishes to purchase while we are there today, they get a great price and we get business that keeps us profitable. You can get an idea of any price online today a salesman gives you the exact cost when you allow him to do his job correctly and rewards a family for making a good decision with a discount.

    Maybe RbA is on the expensive side, yeah. But what is the alternative? I’ve replaced my windows with vinyl windows, even really expensive ones, and they always fail. 3 years on one set and about 6 on the expensive set. So in the end, is RbA actually expensive. A neighbor down the street has had RbA windows for 14 years and he says they’re a dream. At this point I’d rather have spent more money one time instead of saving some money and doing it every 3-6 years. I think part of the problem that makes the industry shady is that nobody is willing to say vinyl shouldn’t be a window to begin with. They’re plastic! Baking in the sun!

    • @replacementwindowsreviews
      @replacementwindowsreviews  3 месяца назад

      Nearly all vinyl windows come with a lifetime warranty on the mainframe and sash. Renewal offers a 20 year warranty, which I find telling - I list the warranty details here - www.replacementwindowsreviews.co/company/renewal-by-andersen-reviews.html) - a quality vinyl window that fails after 6 years would absolutely be covered by the warranty - assuming that you purchased from a credible dealer. If the dealer balks at covering your warranty claim after 6 years, you should lambast them using google local reviews. That is ridiculous. What brand and series did you purchase?

You didn’t mention how expensive window installation can be say if you decide to go with a vinyl window that is sub’d to an incompetent contractor. You spent a lot of time on price. You seem reasonable. Perhaps conclude with “You get what you pay for.”

      My apologizes - it's hard to tackle all of it in a single video - plus the franchise structure of renewal means that service guarantees and warranties might not always be "equal" to one another. Window installation cost is SOOOO varied by company that that is also a tough one to tackle. I do have a video that talks about installation costs based on the type of installation needed for each project though...

      Fibrex is 60% vinyl. Does look better than vinyl framed windows. From a performance standpoint the video does point out AI ratings not being up to speed with competitor. This is true and mainly due to the aesthetics of the product. To obtain that traditional framed look there are some lessor performing areas. However their R&D department are actively improving all areas of the window to deliver not only a pretty window but the best performing.

On top of the added value to your home, you should definitely replace them. Whether you want to do Andersen or not is up to you, but the Fibrex material is definitely of a higher quality than anything else I've gotten from any other company. Had vinyl before, warped a lot because of the sun, fogged up in the winter. New Andersen windows much better. Got 7 windows and a door for 28,000$. After discount it was 22000$. Pay 200~ a month.

    I was surprised at Renewal By Andersen Warranty only covers installation for 2-years and does not cover "performance of the low-maintenance exterior glass coating on products with HighPerformance Low-E4® glass"

      It's good to get the consultation I think -- it's a pretty window, just make sure to tell the salesperson you only have an hour for him. Surely he can do what he needs to do in under an hour :)

      They just sold my mother-in-law 11 windows for $45,000. Not only is she a widow of a veteran but she has pancreatic cancer and diminished capacity because of the therapy. I am trying the attorney general today.

      that is one of the highest prices I've ever seen per window - swing for the fences price bid. Collect multiple bids until you find a great window at a great price!

    I really needed this video, so thank you! My RBA consultant really pushed how much better their Fibrex windows are compared to traditional vinyl windows. The pricing played out exactly as depicted in the video. Ten replacement windows were priced in the $40k range, but with four or five discounts, I could get them for only $18k, with a 3% incentive to commit on the spot. I also had a quote from another company for 10 higher-end vinyl windows at just shy of $10k, with a lifetime transferable warranty. I was really having trouble quantifying the benefit of spending the extra $8k on Andersen windows. Given the performance numbers for the Andersen windows, it makes the calculus easier.
