It's that shield he's got that is able to protect him (and Aqua as long as she stays behind Phillip) from both the flames and Maleficent's attacks.

ShadoKurosu When Kingdom Hearts was developed, they hadn't thought about utilizing that tactic in the first game until Birth by Sleep was made.
Philip has an enchanted shield that protects him from darkness and his sword is also enchanted as well.
Never judge a man by appearances and status alone.

Okay, it was really awesome how Aqua took on most of the original Disney villains in the disney worlds in this game. I especially loved the rivalry between Maleficent and Aqua. I hope Aqua, Ventus and Terra take on Maleficent again, except this time they're altogether, in the next Kingdom Hearts game. Who else would like it if they did another Kingdom Hearts game with Aqua, Ventus and Terra in it, except this time they're altogether throughout the whole game.

The original fight scared the crap out of me, but this is actually bad ass in a video game
Back on the psp version, I found an exploit where if you attack her back right leg (towards the back of it) it would register as a hit. That's how I killed her

Not to mention, her entire motivation in the movie is that she's taking revenge for not being invited to baby Princess Aurora's birthday. That's like the only time anything like Hell was said in the game. Plus Hell I don't think really counts as a curse word so I don't think a language track is needed.
Also in the GBA version of Chain of Memories I remember Axel said Hell to.

I can also imagine her reaction if she learns the truth from Sora, Riku, King Mickey, Kairi, or Xehanort himself. And more than likely similar to KH2, Maleficent may be forced to ally w/Sora to defeat Master Xehanort given that despite her capabilities he may be more powerful than even the Mistress of All Evil.

I think the series has milked the dragon fight enough. Hopefully they'll stick to normal Maleficent. OR..... She can manifest different parts of the dragon from walls of fire she conjures.
You know, the fire takes shape of a dragon's head and then becomes it briefly becomes a real one for an attack. With the power of darkness growing stronger, Maleficent would get stronger.

This game was originally on the psp so they couldn’t do as much facial animation as in the main games.
They save the good facial animation for the main characters and important scenes. For instance there’s rarely a scene where Maleficent has no animation to her face.

Nah. Luffy would get lost in her castle, half the zeroes would be squashed by something as insignificant as her staff, the rest scared by her green flaming breath, and the remaining hero would reach a stalemate. Aqua would have to save the day again.
As for the villains, if even the True Sword of Sure Holy Death couldn't slay her at 0HP, ZERO HIT POINTS, I don't think she has very much to fear from some physical anime threat. Plot armor and all that.
Luffy,Sanji, or Zoro would have somewhat of a decent fight against Maleficent.
