We enjoyed your talk and meeting Adrian. We are awaiting a reply from her and are hopeful she can helps us find a permanent apartment in Paris, as we have been living in an AirBnB for the last six months.
It’s “tout de suite” I think? Great video! Love watching KJ and Tony videos, even before they were discovered and adopted by Adrian-what a great partnership!!
I am blessed, I have been all over France since 2018, and today is my 5 anniversary of my arrival to meet my now Fiancé whom is French. I bought a home here in the 2020. I love it here and the special man in my life. ❤
Did not know that you were tricked by a reporter. Thank goodness though that it connected you with Ms. Leeds. Happy that you’re pointed in the right direction. KJ you look terrific!
We have so enjoyed your videos because you have shared your struggle in finding the right way to move forward. My fantasy is living in France but my reality is probably spending 2-3 months per year here. My husband and I are in Paris for the month. We actually “spotted” you and Tony twice! Once while having lunch in the marais and again today near Saint michel. Thanks for your videos and insight. We will be moving on to Nice next month.
Hi Sharon! Yes we wer in both places you mentioned those days. We would have loved for you to have said hello. We hope you enjoy Nice. Our transition will be more along the lines of back and forth between Nice and the US for a period of time. The living full-time in France won't be happening for at least a year or two.
So pleased to hear that you've decided on your future plans. They sound very well considered. Completely agree about fantasy vs reality. We're loving having a base in Italy and France to explore from rather than hopping around from place to place. That wouldn't suit us either. Having a clean comfortable home in both countries makes the world of difference. Living somewhere is also so different to visiting. Only time in a place helps you to really understand its character, culture, good and bad points. M&R
Glad to hear Adrian pronounce the term "tax residency" as people do get unstuck in this one. ;-) One other thing that strikes me as important is the immigrant/expat terminology. An expat may stay long-term but the intention is always to return to one's country of origin. If the intention is to become a permanent resident, then technically, that's immigration, not expatriation. It's about intention.😊
video is almost at the end but I interrupt to say it's absolutely fascinating. I followed Adrienne's channel and it's a pleasure and I'm subscribe to your channel tooo -- I wish you the best!!!!!
There are surprises about what you can find - or not find - when you rent long-term in France too, not just when you purchase. If I undertsand correctly, to date you have just rented Air B'n'B, which is a specific formula but quite different longer-term renting. Also, quite seriously, the Olympics next year in Paris are having a horrendous impact on rented accommodation, in terms of availability, not necessarily in the areas where events are specifically to be held, also in the classic tourist areas, including Saint-Michel. A bon entendeur...!
Hi KJ & Tony, this is a lovely, honest account/summary of your 'move to France' story so far. I was so pleased that you explained about Fostering Resilience and your wonderful contribution in the field of addiction recovery. That's how I came to know you, and I will always value your experience & knowledge in this area above all else that you do. Love & gratitude always, Gill x🙏🤍✨️x
Happy for you both~self care is Important. I am definitely staying subscribed. I think I started watching when you had about 700 subs. :) Much love and one video a month is Awesome. Btw, very Professional talk.🥰 Thank you. :) I had feeling you were going to go with Nice. :)
Money does matter in any consideration...would we want a tiny apt with no elevator? We're used to a large home which means space, which means money. We are in our early seventies, and maybe 10 years ago we might have considered a move, but between medical issues, needing space and ease,we will continue to spend three weeks every fall in Paris, live the Parisienne life. Good luck, love you!
Update! We just got back from three weeks Paris and here area few takeaways....you probably know all this but for your subscribers it may be helpful. it is totally possible to find a suitable apt in the middle of Paris for less than $1 million. I thought that would be impossible. And I don't mean to sound like $1 mil is no big deal. We looked at the real estate window ads and were amazed. We stayed in a large, very old apt near the Maubert Mutualite metro, very convenient, a wonderful market twice a week. I daydreamed a lot...could we live here?? Yes no? Well here's what I discovered. Yes,I could live inParis but I think the main thing other than the size of the apt is love the neighborhood, have an elevator, a nearby taxi stand and markets. Once you've done the tourist stuff and other explorations your neighborhood will be your world. You won't be crisscrossing Paris to see everything. Also, have your apt inspected for molds. We were in a 400 yr old building, very well kept up but we both got nasty sinus infections. I think it was the building not to mention hundreds of old books in the apt. Paris has a dept specifically for this problem, but it could be months before they can do anything. We found the people friendly, happy and accommodating. Sidewalks are clean. Walking at night was not threatening. However, there are many more cyclists since Covid and you have to pay attention. These are just a few things, but living in a large city is both a treat and work. I lived in NYC and Mexico City years ago. It was tough then! So I wish you the best! 🥐🥐🥐
Why is it always either Paris or Nice? Why not live and buy in Lyon, for example, or Bordeaux, or any number of smaller towns with access to TGV or SNCF/RER trains and airports? If you speak a little French, can’t you get by? Also, there are many English speaking real estate agents across France, especially around Occitanie, Normandy, Brittany, Aquitaine… Adrian provides a great service but I think many of us can’t afford Nice or Paris, realistically. 😊❤🎉 Franchement (frankly)!
We are visiting Lyon this winter, but feel that the climate and location of Nice is ideal for us. We have heard lovely things about Bordeaux and other areas of France and plan to visit them all. But as far as having a home-base in France, Nice will be a good starting point. And yes, I'm sure there are many English speaking real estate agents across France, but we crossed paths with Adrian and like what she has to offer. There is really no reason to look for someone else.
I think it is important to allow your love for the States to be part of your happiness While keeping your hearts open to discovering another country and slowly integrating it into your dream of fulfillment Thank you 🕊️💕🕊️
I haven't seen her for a long time. She used to be on HGTV but when the Paris government started cracking down on purely investment property to supposedly free up property for residents to own, she took off for other areas and I think she was in the south of France. I was wondering how she was doing. Glad to see her again.
Hello friends, after a month of constant cloudy days, and as much as we love Bordeaux we are done. Yes, Nice is now our next destination to explore. It does seem a fit though but we will be staying a lot there for the next year just to be sure. We do have the 2 kids , so next move we hope its longer. Kids do like some sort of routine! Hope your travels are going well. And you are prob taking these cold months and staying in FL!
Nice is really so beautiful. We've never been to Bordeaux but would really like to go there since we've great feedback from so many viewers about Bordeaux. Yes, we are currently in Florida, but heading back to France for the month of Febrary.
We fell in love with Bordeaux and had plans for even buying those first 2 months but then weeks and weeks of cloudy days while Nice was 10 to 15 degrees warmer and sunnier just changed our mindset. But we will def come back to BDX. Love the energy of it. @@kjandtonylovefrance
You guys are so interesting. Found you by a meditation video last year. We're from the same area in Florida so whenever I would see either of your videos ( I'm also in recovery) I would watch. I enjoy watching your journey 😀👍❤️
What a great. Informative video. Glad you have solidified a plan are are confidently moving forward..I'm guessing Adrian has made a big difference in your confidence level. Next year I'm selling my house probably renting long term in Riviera Playa because I don't know if I want to settle there. Maybe I'll hop over to Nice and check that area out...let me know when you're subletting. 😊 Have a great time 👍
I've lived in Vero Beach for nine years!.. I hope you visit the Vero Beach Museum of Art which is currently exhibiting works inspired by the Napoleonic Era. Should be right up your ally. And if I run into you, I'll be asking about the best flights from Vero to Nice because I've watched Adrian's videos and can't wait to visit.
We will definitely make a point of going to the museum. We love Vero Beach and we also love Nice. We are in Nice now and head back to Vero Beach on Tuesday. We fly in/out of the Orlando airport.
You two remind me of a profound book I read called "The Afterlife of Billy Fingers" by Annie Kagan, and where you are taking the main character's advice!!! Anyone who has a big dream should read that book.
Hi there. I would love to know more about your planning process, and maybe others would too. In a previous vlog you talk about giving things away or selling. Did you create a spread sheet or just go room by room? Thank you!
Hi Leslie - We didn't sell anything. We gave it all away to friends, family and charities. There wasn't much planning. This time around we are do a lot of planning :-)
Adrian Leeds is a great resource for anyone moving to France who is looking to rent or buy property in France.🏡Adrian Leeds adrianleeds.com
I plan on contacting her toute suite! Next time I am there...probably next month

Thanks M&R! You've expanded to Italy?!
Lovely to see you both. Will miss more frequent videos but understand the work involved.😊
Thank you!

Purchase in Nice, rental in Paris, seems the obvious solution in both practical and financial terms.
Thanks for your support, Suzi. We really appreciate you and your consistent encouragement and kind feedback 🥰

I lived in Bourgogne while in college and absolutely fell in love. I intend to return someday to live there. ❤
But of course for real estate in Paris or Nice, Adrian Leeds is the best ...

Hi Michele! Yes, I believe the key here is "slowly integrating"

She is now on House Hunters International!
I'll visit someday God willing ♥️💗
Yes, we hope so 🙏
Merci❤
I enjoy getting to see France through your channel. I will probably never get to go, so really enjoy your videos. 😊

Good for you to go to Paris for the weekend! Not to brag, but I got one almost as good. I went to London from Los Angeles for the weekend once.
Oh wow! That's also a rough turn-around 🙃
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support ❤️

No reason for that person to bring up Trump but now that she did it’s really the Joe Biden method!! Get real here
It seems like all the normal Americans are out of the US for good... :(
Perhaps, but we're not out yet!
KJ looks alike Nicole KIDMAN !
I've been told that before. I actually have a friend who told me 20 years ago that she thinks I look like Nicole, and I had dark hair then.
❤😎🥂😂
Au revoir …
I don’t think Egyptian s have realistic goals
