I am a little confused about your healthcare coverage statement. You say you can be covered after 90 days. but in an earlier video you said that one of the requirements for the year visa is to show that you have insurance coverage for the year.. and that the requirements are detailed. Can you explain??

Merci to Alliances Française and to you Adrian. I have been struggling for a couple of years to figure out how I could move to France before Covid made me stop and re-think.. Though I have some French, it certainly is not at the level of being able to understand legal documents. I knew there had to be someone out there who could help - and here you are. This retiree will probably contact you in the very near future. Your talk gave me hope that living in France CAN happen. I fell for France when I first stepped on French soil back in 1985 and have been back a number of times. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

Chere Adrian, mille remerciments for your very informative presentation. AS a Canadian, many of the "socialist" benefits you remark upon are cherished in our country. Can you maybe comment on how Canadians might face different administrative regulations?

I understood that health benefits are not available if you move to France after your 70th birthday. Is that accurate? Thank you!

Do you pay property taxes after the age of 62? Do you age out of income taxes in France? Do they consider working from home (as an independent writer) as taking a job from a French national?

There is MLS in France. Don’t know why this myth keeps being repeated. France is not a good place to move to. Health care is difficult, renting is difficult, buying requires high extra fees. Many people return after living there. Many videos with returning expats who found France difficult and unpleasant. Safety net is hardly available to expats. This video is full of inaccuracies. You are taxed on any real estate investments overseas. Health care is getting more difficult to find as physicians retire and are not being replaced to meet the demographic changes.
