I might have to!! That's awesome haha, I'm jealous! I broke the tip off my snipe 76 the other day due to casting a wind knot :( so I had to put in an order for a top section. Might use it as an excuse to get another one though to replace it in the meantime haha, they're such awesome rods :))
Thank you!! 🙏 The rod I'm using is a Zenaq Snipe 7 foot 6 RG model (the black rod) and a Millerods Beast Buster LM also 7 foot 6 (This is the rod with the blue camo grips) The list of all the rods I use is generally always in the video description if you're interested
Could use 12lb if you wanted most the time with the big bents etc you won’t ever have the leader rubbing in there mouths . Once you pin them just got light !! And I find better action and easier to work the lures with the lighter leader. Nice one bro those snips are perfect for the flats flattys 🎉
Yeah I agree! Only ever had a few take a bent minnow deep out of probably near 100 big fish caught on them! Thank you for the advice brother :)) And yeah the snipes are such an awesome rod! Thanks for watching legend 🤙
water temp isn't a thing mate I live on the south east coast and get them in winter in the shallows and it gets down to 15'....I use 10lb cheap mono I never lose lures or miss many bites...close to 350 over 80cm in my diary I use nothing but 75mm double clutches and 95mm atomic slim twitchers with much faster erratic retrieves I used to go slow but realised I could fish faster and cover more ground while still getting bites!...they slam faster retrieved jerk baits with fast rips....when you get over measuring get some bogas and keep em in the water and I suggest a wet cloth when you handle them!
Hey mate. Good fishing. Just me but I feel 16lb is about right. If iv got an expensive lure on like that Shimano I’d think 20lb. I really don’t think the Flathead care what leader you use. Can you check that Certate to see if it’s got line twist. No one believes me 😂
Yeah I think so too! I also use 20lbs for expensive lures haha! Yeah I had a bit of line twist, I take it out every couple session by towing the line behind the boat but hadn't done it in for a few sessions in this vid! Most of the twist is gone now 🤙 Thanks for watching!
@@wayofenergy Line twist in braided fishing line occurs when the line rotates around itself, creating coils or tangles. Think of it literally like a raspberry twist lolly or something where the braided line has literally twisted over itself. Using a bent minnow lure increases the likelihood of line twist because these lures often spin or rotate unpredictably during the retrieve due to their irregular shape and darting action. This erratic movement rotates the line, especially if a swivel isn’t used, resulting in more twists over time. Swivels reduce line twist because instead of twisting the line, the lure will just rotate the swivel around which means the actual line won't get twisted as much.
@@wayofenergy Hey mate. You only really get it with braid. Have a look how the line is sitting on your spool. You should be able to see up close if it has a twist in it.

@Pootuffy Hey can someone explain line twist to me? Such as does it happen more to big bent minnow?

@Pootuffy Great explanation thanks. So is it recommended to use snap swivel with bent minnows? How can I identify is i have line twist?
