Fishing With Josh
Австралия
Добавлен 19 фев 2023
Welcome to the 'Pootuffy Fishing' RUclips channel!
I basically like fishing.
I will try to get videos out at least every two weeks, but if this was my full time job you best believe I would upload almost daily and not once a month like most full time fishing RUclipsrs out there. I'll be fishing all over Australia and beyond, I'm a flathead fishing nerd (I actually suck) and will do everything it takes to get a one metre flathead!
If you would like me to feature a product in my videos you can find my email address in the channel details section! If I like the product I will do my best to make some cool films using it and trust me I will actually shout out the product and send people in the direction of where they can get it unlike all the big fishing RUclipsrs who simply use the product they're getting paid to use without ever saying what it is or where they can buy it...lol
Enjoy :)

Topwater Flathead Action in the Afternoon
Chasing dusky flathead on shallow estuary flats using topwater lures, specifically the OSP bent minnow. As the top water action slowed down, I also flicked around a soft plastic which found some luck just before the sun went down.

Back chasing dusky flathead on the flats, but this time I've added a diving lure into my arsenal, using this Daiwa double clutch 95! This lure worked well at the start of the session, catching a nice dusky flathead on one of the first casts, but I realised that it may have been diving a little bit too deep for my liking (constantly digging into the sand). Moving forwards I will use this lure on...

Unexpected Encounter While Catching Squid!!
I just came across ur channel, this is the second video of yours ive watched, and love the amount of respect u have for the fish and the comedy (thats what she said GIF) in the video is pure gold Keep up the great work, im currently 14 years old and love discoverimg new RUclipsrs that post fishing videos, the two videos if yours i watched is a next step of you becoming my favourite fishing youtuber Ive been into fishing since i was around 5 and im 14 Love to see people getting out there fishing even on days with bad wind and rain Keep up the great work Btw my first ever flathead was 65 cm in around 5 meters of water at speers point NSW And also caught a 75cm aussie salmon there
Don’t use gloves to take the fish. It will absorb the slime coat which has so many functions for the fish health. Just wet your bare hand and grab it gently 😊 Nice video! 👌🏽
Always love the work brother! Cant wait to get back on them this summer! I will be down there in December 😉
O MY DAYS!!
OHHHH MY DAYSSSS 🗣️🗣️
Mate youre vids are insane soo good to watch. Its 11:30 at night and im still watching youre posts
Haha thank you so much legend! That means a lot, glad you like them :))
Are you in WA
Nah man, over on the East :)
Man I hate our sea... it serves as a kindergarten and all the fish then is going to Mediteranian sea for this guy to catch... not fair. Our sea tipycal fish size is 5-20 grams...
Awesome session bro. Love the Zenaq snipe and Certate combo🔥
Thank you for watching brother! It's such a fun combo to use :))
if the last fish is big then im victor wembanyama
Not your fault mate, great fish! This is why most of my lures specifically for flathead use single hook conversion. They do move around a lot
Yeah thanks mate, still sucks, but luckily it was a legal fish :) I might experiment with more single hook orientations this season, hate getting dodgy hook ups, thanks for the advice 🤙
Awesome catches mate...check out crossfire bent minnows as well, I got the 100mm in the sandy color but some giants have been caught on the 195 crossfire.
I have a couple cross fires in my tackle box that I am waiting to break out, got a 195 and 155 both in white! Should give them a crack this spring/summer! Thank you for watching :))
Dude don’t feel bad keeping a 53. There are plague like numbers of flathead in so many systems across Australia. Appreciate your your care and passion for them ❤
Yeah that's true, just hate injuring duskies in any way, would rather release them all healthy. But yeah very lucky it was only 53, had to send a couple back injured over the years because they were too big :( But regardless, thank you for watching, got more films coming soon 🫡
Same mate always let my fish go been throwing bent minnows in my are of Port Macquarie with Some good results what brand is your boat set up pretty sweet
That's awesome! I will be doing a lot of fishing around Port Macquarie very soon :)) And the boat is a Stacer Outlaw 449 centre console! Thanks for watching and good luck with the fishing this Spring/Summer :)
love how you do the right thing whenever you need to keep a fish. you put it out of its misery and then sort it out. someone left a massive trout on the bank of a local lake i fish at and that was just upsetting. great vid btw 🤙🤙
Yeah, I'm lucky it was a legal sized fish, otherwise I would have had to send it back anyway unfortunately. I can't believe how badly some people treat fish, they give us so much enjoyment the least we can do is respect them, and why would someone leave a perfectly good trout on the bank?! they're great eating, that's just a waste. Thank you for the comment brother, I am glad you enjoyed it :) More on the way!
awesome dude. love the footage.
Thank you! 🤩
Need a setup tour And I love how much U care for flathead
Thank you brother! That means a lot, these fish bring me so much joy so I do my best to look after them 🙏 Set up tour will be in a future film for sure! Going to make some more detailed fishing videos this summer and I plan to run through my gear more in them, so keep an eye out for that :))
@@Pootuffy can't wait
Nothing wrong with keeping a dusky mate. Lucky wasn’t a big girl 😊
Yeah that's true, I just enjoy catching them so much that I don't want to have any impact on the numbers in the area. But you're right it doesn't hurt to keep one from time to time. But yeah luckily it was in the slot limit, always feel so bad sending back a big girl if she's bleeding in any type of way. Thanks for watching mate :)
Hey mate if U don't like the smell of bait on Ur hands I recommend bread bcz it's cheaper and doesn't smell and I've got all my big bream on it yew 🤙🤙
nice video! brings back memories of micro fishing in Split and Rovinj a few years back. Caught tons of painted combers with tiny Keitechs, Gulp worms and various grubs. Very nice country for fishing, and food and wine of course.
I'd like to know your thoughts on the Zenaq 76 Snipe, how it compares to the 78 Snipe and what other uses would it be good for. Great vids
Thanks Steve! With the 76 Snipe being rated to cast up to 21 grams in comparison to the 35 grams of the 78 snipe, the rod is certainly quite a bit lighter and more sensitive in the tip. Essentially, the 76 is a slightly shorter and more "whippy" version of the 78. The 76's lighter, more responsive tip allows for greater finesse and precision when working smaller lures. Both rods offer plenty of power, but my choice between the two depends largely on the type of lures I'm planning to use. For larger soft plastics (7-9inches), heavy vibes, or diving lures between 20 and 35grams, I’d go with the 78. It has the strength to handle heavier lures and provides the extra power needed for inshore species or even small pelagics when you’re fishing light but still need to pack a punch. But with that said, the 78 also excels when casting heavier lures in estuaries for big flatties or mulloway. On the other hand, I prefer the 76 for situations where I need to impart more action into the lure myself. It's the go-to rod for lighter surface lures or medium soft plastics, like jerk shads, where deliberate movements to the lure from the rod are essential. The 76 really shines in medium estuary environments, perfect for targeting species like flathead, big tailor and decent sized jewfish, but it's also awesome for trout in lakes, snapper, or medium-sized reef fish on the flats. For example, if I was chasing a 20kg mulloway, the 78 would be my choice for its power and ability to handle bigger fish. But if I’m flicking a jerk shad on a 1/4 ounce jig head at flathead on sand flats, I’d pick up the 76. Hope that helps! :)
@@Pootuffy Thank you, that was very helpful. I have the 72 Snipe which I use for the bigger hardbodies and SP's from shore for Mulloway, heaps of power and it will throw smaller and lighter lures but it will straighten the smaller trebles on occasion, I was thinking the 76 would still give me a good chance of stopping a bigger mulloway with lighter drag settings, but could still be used with hardbodies in the 6 to 15 g range. Another application I would use it for is Micro jigging off the beach for Salmon, jigs from 10 to 15g,
Got the 76 Snipe today, works great
Good video pal going croatia myself taking lite lure rod is it easy get a rod license over there as know i need one for sea fishing there .. tried on line but the site to complicated 🙈
I recently made a light setup for the surf here in puerto rico is a 3k ugly reel and a medium daiwa 7 foot rod 15 pound braid and id super fun i caught a 8 pound snapper othe other day i was laughing cause he was taking line like a 20 pounder 😂
very nice spot.. best sea in the world is mediterranean imo.
Awesome video mate. Just wondering what leader do you use thanks
Hey mate! Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I use either 16lbs Shimano ocea leader or Daiwa X-Link also in 16lbs. Sometimes I will drop it to 14lbs or 12lbs, but with these bigger flatties the lighter you go the more likely you are to snap off, and they're not usually very leader shy. Hope this helps :)
@@Pootuffy thanks mate I might grab a couple this week ,at the moment the winter slim and weed still around top water would be better thanks..
Cool content, what size and brand was the Bent you used.?
Check out the video description :)
Mr Pootuffy, love it, you really slay those beast Flatties. Yeah the boys, but don’t say that, it’s so 2018, ha ha!😊
Not asking for your spot but where abouts are you like Northern NSW? Curious to know because im going to coffs and am unsure if the flatty will be on. Nice video tho and fish's.
The flatties will definitely be starting on in Coffs, water temp should be slowly getting to where you want it to be. definitely will be worth a go!
Good video man 🔥
Thank you legend! More coming soon :)
Stop talking Tyler the flathead king will be back too
Hahah there's plenty for the lot of us!
Let’s go!!!! Thanks for another smashing vid bro.
Thank you brother! Glad you enjoyed :)
what island is this?
Bro you making me want to take a trip, only in Australia?
Haha yeah these fish are only in Australia, if you mean where do I fish, then yeah I also mostly fish in just Australia, but occasionally in Croatia when I make the trip over :)
Very nice!! Can’t beat surface.
Absolutely! So much fun :)
You should do a walk through all ur tackle
Will make a run through this summer for sure :)

does this liquid scent help you fish? how good does it work?
It works very well! I like using scents on soft plastics a lot, they make a big difference in my opinion :)
@@Pootuffy have you tried puting that scent on something like bread/flour dough?
Why do yo have gloves on first fish
Too slimy to hold and was super spiky, just easier to hold :)
big flathead in what i think is lakes entrance. what a way to finish the week. would love to see some big bream with your fishing side kick there to net them. i have been loving these types of videos. especially the swimbaits and the organizing one. maybe making a set up rundown where you go through all your gear. i would watch all of them because i love flathead fishing and to me all you catch are giants. the biggest i have gotten was a 53cm out of port Phillip. thanks for the content brother 🤙
I'm not going to say where this is because I don't want people flocking to my spots for the locals sake, but any estuary up the south to mid coast has some pretty epic fishing to be had! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, genuinely means a lot! Will have to get to the bream fishing then, I'm keen to explore around for some soon for sure! A video going through my gear is definitely on the cards, I'll probably integrate it into another film though so keep an eye out for that! A 53cm out of Port Phillip is pretty legendary to be fair, so great work with that! I really appreciate the kind words, more videos coming soon!
@@Pootuffy all good mate. I respect the privacy for the locals. i cant wait to get out fishing for some snapper but instead i am stuck inside doing a math's catch up test. i wonder if those bream would take a cranka crab. I love your content. seeing you catch monster flathead makes me want to get out and try to find some. keep up the great work 🤙🤙
