  • Clips from a trip recently taken to Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia Canada. We had some amazing weather, and interesting snow conditions.
    Clips were joined together over ARMNHMR - Fragile (feat. Melanie Fontana), I was listening to the song some while I was riding for this footage, but not the whole time.
    On this trip I lurked around quite a bit, broke some bindings, got some new tele skiers stoked on the sport, and much more.
    Can't wait to go back next season.
    Enjoy!

      @@cascadetele I am using a bamboo stick, can you forward info on how you made this lurk, with Marshell's permission , of course ?! Cheers.

      @Aotearoawaterman this design uses two wooden Home Depot broom handles. They are duct taped together with about a foot overlap.
      Tennis balls are screwed on the ends.
      It is a basic design for sure, I have recently been using it to sweep my cabin.

    I'm a long time telemarker fascinated by the lurk. I want one. Obviously it would be handmade from a locally sourced and sustainably grown tree.
    but I'm not sure what it does besides looking good?
    Watching this guy ski with and without, he's clearly better with 2 (?not bamboo?!) poles: His shoulders face the fall line, he has good pressure on his edges and he maintains balanced weight on both skis. That all falls apart when he starts paddling his lurk and faces sideways from the back seat.
    Can someone explain this to me?

      Although the lurk was used by the original telemark skiers in Norway as a multi-tool, its adaptation to high speed, and highly technical downhill skiing is a bit odd. Yes it is mostly for fun, and to do something different.
      I think acceptable form with a lurk is yet to be standardized, I plan to mess around with the "technicality" of skiing with a lurk this season.

    Are you on Outlaw X bindings? Good to see the ski release.

    • @cascadetele
      @cascadetele  2 года назад

      The ski actually released due to an issue with the binding itself. The rivets holding the system together came loose, and caused the ski to release. RIP RUSTLER 10s.

      @@cascadetele Why RIP? By your description it does not sound like the binding ripped out. I just picked up a pair of Rustler 10s...Binding issues aside, do you like the way the Rustlers ski?

    • @cascadetele
      @cascadetele  2 года назад +2

      Honestly when I saw the binding was messed up, I also noticed that the sidewall was blown out on one of the skis. I love the Rustler 10s so much. Had them mounted just about 1cm back and they were wonderful. I will be getting another pair for sure.

      Cool videos, glad i stumbled on em.
      Is outlaw x NTN or 75 mm?
      Im in the market for new skis/bindings and outlaw x/rustler 10 sounds pretty sweet.
      We live just across the river from Portland and ski at Meadows. Thanks!

      @jegrand Sorry for the late reply. Yes the Outlaw, and Outlaw X is an NTN binding. I tell people it’s their choice to decide when to make the transition to NTN. When considering a stiff alpine ski like the rustler 10, it is nice to have the extra stability and power transfer from NTN, or Bishop Binding System (They are different). Hope you found a fun new setup that is getting you out there!
