    I bought a tx pro from telemark down new Boston nh. Friggen right bellow creased/ cracked after 9 days. Telemarkdown didn’t want to help out with a material defect. Didn’t even make it out of November with it. They sent me to scarpa directly no help either. Day 18 my left boot had the same crease crack. Best part was dude from telemarkdown told me I needed to learn how to turn. Too bad these boots are so comfortable. Made it to day 70 before both boots bellows completely blew out. Guess I’ll be trying crispi next year. Beware of telemarkdown “customer support “

      @user-hr9os8up3x Wow that's insane. I have not heard of a defect causing this before, and know of many pairs of boots that have made it hundreds and hundreds of days without cracking. What an insult to be told "you need to learn how to turn" when dealing with an obvious manufacturing defect... Like any company, Scarpa can pull strings only if you talk to the right person. I hope you get ahold of someone concerning this problem.

    This boot does not ski the same on piste as the current TXPro and TXComp. The current boots sole "toe rocker"(where the sole flexes) is further back than the new TXPro. This takes away the ball of foot pressure on the rear ski and moves the pressure more up on the toes which takes away from the inside ski inside edge control that the current Pro and Comp gives you in my opinion. This is very noticeable when skiing on piste. Fit of the boot is very similar to the current Pro and Comp, three buckles are plenty. Cuff buckle, booster strap and mid strap buckle are all you need. Range of motion in walk mode is huge reduced weight is nice. Sole is narrower and shorter. A 27 is still a 27. Sole length is 299 vs 307. Large binding is still 27 and up. Skied a few different pairs of the new pro in a 27. My everyday boot is a 27 TXComp. Skied the comp on one foot new pro on the other just for comparison and switched feet. Did the same with the current Pro also. I would say the new pro has a stiffer cuff and the bellows seemed to collapse so were not that stiff. Boot skied well in the Pow and Chunder. On piste was where I noticed the loss of inside ski inside edge control. Had it with the current comp and current pro but not the new pro. My opinion is that the Scarpa needs to move the rocker take off point back to the same spot as the current boots otherwise those that like to pressure the rear ski and have edge control will be disappointed with the lack of performance of the new boot on piste especially. This is not a function of the boot sole being broken in as I skied a pair that was fairly new and another pair that probably has 40 days on them both skied the same. Also skied the previous years white boot and the inside ski inside edge lack of performance was the same. The amount of toe rocker is the same in the comp current pro and new pro. The only difference is where the rocker starts. I ski the Outlawx binding and get about 100 lift serve days/year. Have now skied a pair with a softer tongue. Had better inside ski inside edge control. The softer tongue made a difference. Bellows need to be stiffer so they don’t collapse.

    Scarpa dropping the ball. Used to have the TX (basically the father of this boot), TX Pro, and TX Comp. Unknown why, dropped the TX. Now they drop the Comp for a 3 buckle sort of Pro? WTF? Guess what: there are a lot of telemark skiers who are into the downhill aspect and don't care much about how it performs for touring. I'd say I'll jump to Crispi, but the do not fit my foot. Still no return of the heal pin plate for use in AT bindings. I love the fit of my TX Pros especially for ascents. Having one boot that fits well for both Tele and AT is the only way for me. The bellows flex really makes for a nice walking motion. I use the bellows shim and I have never had an issue with the bindings releasing unpredictably. I will hang on to my first gen TX Pros for as long as I can for this reason.

    Thanks for this great review! What about heel tech inserts? With modern teletech setup I really enjoy the flexibility in having a Meidjo heel binding for snowkiting or if the conditions for tele is bad - like very steep and icy conditions. However, only possible so far with my now very old TX Pro with tech inserts.

    • @cascadetele
      @cascadetele 4 месяца назад

      @steinvegarlarsen7078 HAHA I never thought about needing to lock your heels for kiting but that totally makes sense! I would love to try that sometime! There is no locking heel technology that is not on the previous generation of the TX-Pro. I think this is mostly done to dissuade people from using the boot with an AT binding that is unsupported under the forefoot and won't stay rigid.

    Thanks for the review. Are you going to put more days on them and report back once they've broken in? I'm in pro 1.0 with intuition powerwrap. I like the buttery bellows for making quick turns and skiing pow. Sounds like the 2.0 bellows are even softer right out of the box which is surprising. Do you feel that ski control/power is as good with 2.0 with single cuff buckle and powerstrap? I gotta know whether to buy and horde current model. Thanks!

    • @cascadetele
      @cascadetele 4 месяца назад

      @thekilawyer I would love to put more days on them and report back, but these boots were only on loan to me for a short period of time. Once I get a pair of my own I will be able to report back. To answer your question I TOTALLY think that the ski control & power transfer with this boot is great. Unknown what the cuffs will feel like when they are broken in, however the new bellows and toe box allow for unparalleled minute ski control with the forefoot, much more than there was in the older boots.

Big issue i have with mine is large gap between cuff and shell near walking mech. My liners get wetted on pow and spring days which leads to liner gripping shell and toe munch. Thoughts between how this New boot skis in contrast to the COMP. Thanks for the initial comparison and on snow fist impression!

    • @cascadetele
      @cascadetele 4 месяца назад

      @DSpyke24 I of course was not able to hold onto the boots in order to break them in fully so I can't fully answer this question either. From my initial impressions of the boot compared to the COMP, the COMP has a much more uniform flex pattern. This means that the bellow and cuff of the boat create a pretty consistent flex as I drop my knee. I can expect a relatively standard stiff feeling from my initial knee drop, to the point where I am fully down. By contrast with the "TX-Pro 2.0" I feel like there is a lot of softness initially, but as I drop the knee further the boot gets progressively stiffer feeling to the point where it actually stops me from dropping my knee further. So it feels both softer and stiffer??? I won't really be able to fully answer this question until I have a fully broken in pair of my own. Hope this helps!

    Weight??? As much as I want to support Scarpa’s near-monopoly, I still love my Crispi NTN Evo boots. They’re a little wide for my feet and I get bellows bite if I’m not careful in my turns, but I like having a tech heel (for reasons you may guess and I cannot admit among my tele friends 😊). Crispi’s tech heel puts Scarpa to shame. That said, Crispi’s North American business model is horrible, the shells are heavy, and the liners are low quality. I had mine shipped from Europe last year. Zip-Fit liners work fine in my Crispi NTN Evo boots. There’s some slop between my Zip-Fits and the Crispi shells. It’s fixable with a little Neoprene padding but the slop hasn’t bothered me enough to fix it. Sorry about the Crispi thread-jack. I was asking about Scarpa TX Pro boot weight? Skiers such as Dostie have been asking Scarpa for lighter boots for years and receiving empty promises. I am not dumping on Scarpa, just adding context regarding the weight question. Great Telemark content and prerelease review - subbed. 🎉

    • @cascadetele

    • @WildMidwest1
      @WildMidwest1 4 месяца назад

      @@SergeB I reserve judgment on the new TX Pros. This pre-release review is encouraging but it still looks like a frontside boot. By comparison, Scarpa's F1 (which Dostie modified into a tele boot in one of his videos) weighs 990g in the LT version, up to 1165g in the GT version - both in size 27 per Scarpa's web page. 1462g for an unstated size Scarpa TX Pro may not appeal to dedicated backcountry skiers who are deciding whether to invest in alpine tech versus Telemark gear. And that's not including the major weight difference of AT versus tele bindings. I love my 22 Designs AXL, Outlaw X and Lynx bindings, but none of them comes close in weight to even the cheapest entry level AT bindings. For people doing 8,000 foot winter ascents those weight differences really add up.

    I'd like to know if they make the interior larger. Scarpa toe boxes fit me beautifully, but the rest of the boot doesn't have enough volume for my feet. I've always wanted Scarpas, but they just don't fit my feet well.

      @Tigerstripe40 I think the toe box in these boots are similar to other Scarpa boots I have seen, but I think it may be slightly narrower mid foot even though it claims the same "last". In my experience, you really need to let the liners mold to your foot before you can really decide if they fit. The liners mold an INSANE amount in the older TX-Pro/Comp. I recently tried some brand new liners in a shell I have skied hundreds of times and was in ridiculous pain mid foot. Idk all our feet are different...
