Think Media I’m still loving my Canon 80D Might go to the DSLR for my events that I go to before I had a Sony HX350 point-and-shoot that was my first camera I’m not gonna lie but it was a good camera at the time but it broke So I upgraded to the canon 80D Because I have been doing photography for a very long time and I wanted to treat myself to a professional camera Which is my canon 80D I love it
Think Media What is the best lens I can use for RUclips videos or maybe tech reviewing and can you use a speed buster and an adapter in front of your lens or just one or the other? One more thing, the filters on the end of the lenses should I buy those?
I went to photography school, (New York Institute of Photography), in the late 80's. Most of what I learned is still unbelievably relevant. I just got my M50 yesterday with 2 lenses. I can see I'm gonna have to spend more money. Lenses, filters, etc. I bought the M50 so I could record music videos of some of my original songs. I also just acquired a USB Audio interface. I'm almost 65 yrs old, so the hardest part is going to be learning how to use all these digital devices and software. It can be frustrating, but "onward through the fog"! THANKS for the videos!
I really appreciate how you prioritized the tips for those of us who are relative newcomers to photography in manual mode. There are many M50 tips out there, but knowing what is important and what can be deferred to a more advanced is often difficult to discern. I have already incorporated these tips into taking pictures, so thanks. One of my next learning adventures is deciding on what post-processing software to use and figuring out how to use it without getting lost in the many details and settings. Another topic I know I will have to deal with at some point is, how to properly adjust white balance when shooting on the M50, how to calibrate colors, and how to adjust colors during post-processing.
I have had my M50 for over a year and chose to take pics on my phone because I didn't know how to use it! I took some pics over the weekend and I was in love (even w normal settings, using a 50mm w the adapter). Now I want to really learn how to use this camera because it beats phone photos any day! Thanks for the tips! can't wait to become a pro M50 user!
Totally agree! It’s a beginners camera for photo and video. This is my first camera and still is. But after doing a few jobs and working in a production house. I realise the limitations of the camera. But if you’re just doing vlogs and etc, it’s an excellent camera!
I’m extremely interested in doing Astro photography. Something about the stars is just so appealing to me. The universe is so vast and unexplored, so to be able to catch even just a glimpse into that beauty is just so amazing and inspiring to me.
Thank you for all of this information! This is my first camera I have owned and bought for myself instead of renting and borrowing from friends. I love taking portrait style and themed shoots either holiday or just artistic ideas that I or my friends have!
Got the M50 2 weeks ago and as a beginner content creator it has taken my video quality to the next level! 😱 Went for a game drive yesterday and it took the most amazing photos of elephants and other wild life! Thank you for suggesting this camera Think Media! It has inspired me to keep it up, as does your channel!
Tutorials like this are great fro me. I am starting from almost zero with the tech products and what they can do. I appreciate that you talk without much industry slang that leaves me in the dark about what is supposedly being conveyed. Landscapes are my favorite, but I like trying to video and photo almost anything. Thx PETE aka Wildside Clyde
@@jv8studios Thanks! I really like it. I'm not real tech savvy, but with the tutorials that Sean and others have out there, I've figured it out for my needs.
Been Blogging with the M50 for over 2 years. Never done photography with it but now im stating to get interested and this is the 1st tutorial video I've watched on photography. Really helpful. thank you.
Just bought an M50 and am a novice with camera. It came with a Vivitar Wide Angle and Vivitar Telephoto attachment. My plan is to document an upcoming RV trip around some of the USA. This will include landscape photos and video. Yes I have a tripod also and some filters (UV, CPL, FLD). A lot to learn in 4 weeks :-) Thank you for all the help in your videos.
Had my M 50 For a while, but got so much more from your video than from any other source. Thank you…I’ll be looking at the series that you mentioned. Great video!
Thank you!!! I returned my SX740 not knowing anything about cameras and purchased a M50. I luv taking pictures of my kiddos and was told the M50 was pretty good for photography purposes. However again not knowing anything about cameras I can learn alot from your playlist on M50. You have made my day. Thnx you!!!
Thank you so much for this video it has been a huge help. First time camera user here and I’m looking forward to watching the series that you were referencing in the video. I am a hairstylist and plan on using my m50 for portrait style shots of hair, and some vlogging/Instagram reels. I chose this camera because I literally know nothing 😅 and all of my resources pointed me in this direction as a begginer. I look forward to more videos from you and the rest of the think media team🎉
I do what ever catches my attention. Lots of photos from a moving car or truck, on my walks including dawn and dusk, people , animals. etc. Still learning my M50 and generally have the 18-150 lens on it for general shooting.
I have had mine for months. I decided to watch one more video on RUclips this past Sunday before returning it and getting the g7x instead. I decided to keep it afterwards. It's initially a bit intimidating for beginners, lol.
I don’t even have my camera yet but this video made me more excited for it to come in & invest in more accessories in the future , def will be checking out the playlist for more tips !
Great video..thanks so much. Just unboxed my Canon M50 and printed out 100's of pages of online manual...I got overwhelmed that I put the camera away til I could concentrate. I had no idea there was an M50 playlist!! Think has been a great resource for me as a beginner and based on your advice and many others, I invested in the M50. Coming from a lumix F47 and then a HF R800, after 1 video production it's easy to see why the M50 is so worth it. Even though the M50 settings and lighting is not the best, it still turns out better than the old footage by far.
Love my M50! It's the perfect camera for me as a beginner photographer and youtube creator. I'm loving the 11-22mm for my vlog lense, and then throwing on the 50mm f1.8 with an adapter for photos. Can't go wrong!
I just bought one after watching m50 review for vlogs and I can say it's pretty darn good. Also I was looking for the photography part of it as it requires a little skill and this video is the perfect one I was looking for. Now I know there's a playlist I just might binge watch it right now. Oh wait.. I am watching it right now.. Thanks
@@jv8studios Well, I only started to upload in any significant numbers around April or May and my Portfolio is getting close to 350 Pictures, I think. So far I have sold 97 Pictures as of today. My biggest sellers are photomicrographs which are pictures I take through microscopes, either with the M50 or with a built-in digital camera. It's stuff that would be of interest for People in the medical field and are rather rare on the stock Websites. However, I have sold numerous landscape, Editorial and Lifestyle Pictures that I took with the M50. I try to think of thigs that might not necessarily be "exciting" or "artistic", but would be of interest to people with various Needs for News, journalism, or adverstisng. I make sure to Always give the Location and lots of Keywords and a good description and I think that helps a lot. The Photographer called Nicole Glass has a RUclips channel where I got some good tips. Also Andrew Balcombe. For Instance, I was hiking with my husband in Austria and we came across a place in the Trail where a large tree had toppled over partially obstructing the Trail. I stopped immediately and took a few Pictures, uploaded them with plenty of tags About Location, outdoor safety, hiking, etc. and it sold a few days later to someone in Wisconsin, I think. (My husband didn't think it was worth photographing, but I figured it's not something you see every day). I've sold multiple corona-related Editorial Pictures and saw that one of them ended up in a czech or romanian Newspaper and another in a retail trade publication. I've also sold multiple Pictures of myself in various poses as "attractive black businesswoman, 50 yrs old". I noticed that there aren't so many older models, so that's a niche. I've also sold multiple Pictures of signs, including 2 times of one of the local bank (PostFinance). Go figure! I hope this helps! @@LisaCulton Thank you Lisa for your message! it was in such detail i took a time to read and i really appreciate you taking time to write back to me ! Once again really appreciate your message. It would be great to keep in touch! Are you on any other social sites?
Thank you for this video! After agonizing over many cameras I bought the M 50 recently. I used a Pentax K 1000 decades ago, then a Pentax DSLR, which I hardly used because it became too heavy, then a number of point and shoots. I became very frustrated when my iPhone started taking better photos than my point and shoots. I recently discovered mirror less cameras and their light weight, so here I am! I take a LOT of scenery photos during my hikes, I also take closeups of flowers. I’ll get into lenses after I give this camera a thorough trial of a few weeks. I’ll also get the iPhone 12 Pro or pro max within the next few days so I don’t have to pair things twice. Thank you, I’ll check out your play list!
Your video is so great, thank you ! I was about to sell my M50 to buy an Iphone 12 because I just couldn't make these beautiful shots I saw before in youtube, now I will have to think about it twice.
Just bought the fabulouse M50 on Amazon. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I am knew to all this stuff so looking forward to learn some basic things. AWESOME. Thanks for this video.
I bought an M50 for RUclips...then I got hooked on photography and rarely use my M50 for YT because I mostly live stream and need to be able to shoot without that pesky 30-minute limit. I've got some stunning landscape photos with it, and I love it for street photography.
Thanks for this video! I've been using the M50 to record guitar lessons for not quite a year, and I want to start using it to take B roll photographs of guitars, pedals, etc. for music gear reviews. These easy tips are going to be a big help in getting started with that.
Thanks will definitely apply, I got the M50 then I got overwhelmed, taking some time to unpack how to use it and this video amongst many on this channel is helping :) now I need to get the extra lenses...shuu budget
THANK YOU for sharing! i just got M50 last week and i have been learning all the great tutorial from you! I am just a beginner for shooting my RUclips channel! still a long way to go, and i will try my best! BTW, I love your preset design!!!

I love to take photos of landscapes ... i hv just bought the M50 mainly to shoot my youtube content
I bought an M50 for RUclips...then I got hooked on photography and rarely use my M50 for YT because I mostly live stream and need to be able to shoot without that pesky 30-minute limit.
I've got some stunning landscape photos with it, and I love it for street photography.
Detailed information. Thanks bro
Thanks for this video! I've been using the M50 to record guitar lessons for not quite a year, and I want to start using it to take B roll photographs of guitars, pedals, etc. for music gear reviews. These easy tips are going to be a big help in getting started with that.
