I utterly appreciate the skill and the detective work in making this, even though the cut itself does not do very much for me personally. A great success.
Great to see you introducing your video Cliff, with the lovely flowers. This one took some figuring out and detective work from jaws. It was well worth it and looks amazing. Thank you for sharing
Oh my. What a beautiful gem! Incredibly complicated, incredible result! My compliments to the dogtective, to the designer of the gem, and most of all to the gifted artisan that created this beauty! Thanks for sharing, Cliff!
WOW!!! Your best video ever, Cliff. The "detective work" regarding the girdle grabbed my attention, and I found myself holding my breath when you were "free-handing" the final continuous girdle. My eyes were riveted to your technique. Thanks so much for sharing this staggering video.
Thanks John. Free styling the girdle is just another step in my journey as a gem cutter. This design is so well thought out. USA gem designers are are so creative. Cutting this gem is an absolute master class. Regards Cliff
Congratulations on finally cutting the Pharaoh's Eye! I can't even imagine how gorgeus it would be in person, with how it looks in the video. By the way thanks for taking my suggestion, which was to show gemstones outdoors again.
Stone me,, you've done a fantastic job on both the cutting and figuring the cuts and research of design. Mind blowing accuracy cliff. Any pharos would love to see it with thier own eyes (pun intended)
So it's a step cut. A top down step cut. The clues are there in the text. We were looking from the wrong direction. I don't really go for eye's but I am tempted to try and do a 96 version. And there must be a better way of cutting that girdle. Will think about it. Great detection work Jaws!
There is a better way than freehanding the girdle, I think. Will have to have a chat one day (week after next), keywords are "natural facet stop". But you will to check on the stone. Well done!
A step cut with a twist. Not an easy design to get right. Pleased with the result. 96 version would be easier, but the criteria was a 64 index. Free styling the girdle is just another step in my faceting journey. Shame that the pan is not removable though. On in the NQR. Not sure what material to facet it in. Topaz would be good. Cheers
You have an incredible talent. I found myself holding my breath a lot through the video even though I never doubted it would turn out amazing. I look forward to your future videos. Please give detective jaws a pat for me 😁
Gem cutting is awesome to watch and I love it . Your my favourite channel 😍. I watched a utube movie “ how this guy clones famous diamonds “. And was blown away how far you could get into gem cutting. Will you ever do some famous gem cloning on any future videos? Please. And this video is more in that flavour of famous imperfect gems that look stunning.
Fantastic job, A bit to advanced for me to attempt at the moment. Nice of you to cut out all the inevitable Australian cussing that must have happened during this video and replace it with music. Thanks for the video and love to the dog.
Aloha Cliff - wanted to let you know I’ve learned so much about faceting from you. It’s nice to see your face too! Thanks for all your work making these videos.
That was great, it is way beyond me, but you have convinced me to have a crack, I am probably going to make things up as I go, but like you, I like the problem solving and sometimes I will go a different way and get a totally different effect, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but that is the fun of it. As I am probably going to muck it up, I didn't note the refractory index, could I use something cheap like nanosital? looking forward to the next one.
I’m looking to get into faceting in the future. How long did it take to facet this gem? Is this over the course of days or weeks or some other time frame? Truly stunning! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutamente lindo. Apesar da minha pouca experiência concordo com todas as colocações. Espero um dia ser digno de produzir algo tão belo. Forte e fraterno abraço.
I utterly appreciate the skill and the detective work in making this, even though the cut itself does not do very much for me personally. A great success.
World class gem cutting, Cliff!
The free hand work on the girdle must have been nerve wracking.
Thanks Joe. I was concerned more about chipping as Spinel chips easily.
Such interesting analysis of the original design and ither attempts to fashion this gem. Amazingly gorgeous results, truly unique.
Thanks...For a long time this has been a personal goal to facet this gem.
Up until now weve only really caught glimpses of you nice to see you in the daylight! That gem is absolutely beautiful!
Great to see you introducing your video Cliff, with the lovely flowers. This one took some figuring out and detective work from jaws. It was well worth it and looks amazing. Thank you for sharing
I thought a formal introduction was needed for a gem. Cheers Cliff
Ha, well done you... Thanks for sharing
Oh my. What a beautiful gem! Incredibly complicated, incredible result! My compliments to the dogtective, to the designer of the gem, and most of all to the gifted artisan that created this beauty! Thanks for sharing, Cliff!
Thanks Kathy. The dogtective was very helpful. The design is exquisite and well worth the effort.
WOW!!! Your best video ever, Cliff.

Cliff thank you very much, excellent research and study of this old design, the result of cutting is a stunningly beautiful gem
Thanks Liburni, I think this design will be hard to top. Regards Cliff
Congratulations on finally cutting the Pharaoh's Eye! I can't even imagine how gorgeus it would be in person, with how it looks in the video. By the way thanks for taking my suggestion, which was to show gemstones outdoors again.
Thanks. I like the outdoor shots in the shade. Direct sunlight is way to much, especially in Australia.
Well done Cliff, you are a master. I hope one day to have half your skill.
Thanks Jeff. Cheers Cliff
A very beautiful and refreshing work
Amazing work Cliff (and Jaws of course). Congratulations and well cut!
Also, nice to put a face to the voice haha.
Thanks...Making the video was a lot of fun. Happy the gem worked out.
I love to get stoned and watch this no cap I love the craft man
Stone me,, you've done a fantastic job on both the cutting and figuring the cuts and research of design.
Mind blowing accuracy cliff.
Any pharos would love to see it with thier own eyes (pun intended)
Thanks Scott. I was really happy with the design. I think this is my best effort yet as the gem looks amazing. Cheers Cliff
Simply stunning work, thanks for taking the time to make this.
Thanks GG....Al the best.
Waw , what an incredible job ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Its breathe taking. Just brilliant.!!!thanks great to see you back. Your a wonder teacher!!!!😀😁😀😁😀😁😀😁😀😁😀😁😁😀😁😀😁😘😍😎😎😎😎😎😍bye for now🤗🤗🤗🤗
That is stunning!! But why can it only be spinnael?
It could be another high refractive gem, but the criteria of the design mentioned spinel. Also, spinel has a great color range.
So it's a step cut. A top down step cut. The clues are there in the text. We were looking from the wrong direction. I don't really go for eye's but I am tempted to try and do a 96 version. And there must be a better way of cutting that girdle. Will think about it. Great detection work Jaws!

@@VintageTimeGems Topaz will work, but spinel and higher would be better.
You have an incredible talent. I found myself holding my breath a lot through the video even though I never doubted it would turn out amazing. I look forward to your future videos. Please give detective jaws a pat for me 😁
Thank you for your kind words Lesley. Jaws is busy sleeping at the moment. I was over the moon with the end result.
Very cool thanks for sharing that 😎🦃☕
Thanks Kenneth.
Great history lesson and amazing gem.
Thank you.

Well done Cliff! What do you believe to be the next most difficult pattern?
Thanks Chris. I need to facet the NQR round as promised.
Fantastic job, A bit to advanced for me to attempt at the moment. Nice of you to cut out all the inevitable Australian cussing that must have happened during this video and replace it with music. Thanks for the video and love to the dog.
Thanks Mark, Yes us Aussies can swear! I enjoy your vids also.

Hi Paul. Thanks. Use a cheap gem first. Eye designs need practice.
I’m looking to get into faceting in the future. How long did it take to facet this gem? Is this over the course of days or weeks or some other time frame? Truly stunning! Thanks for sharing!
beautiful gem!
Absolutamente lindo.
Apesar da minha pouca experiência concordo com todas as colocações. Espero um dia ser digno de produzir algo tão belo. Forte e fraterno abraço.
Thank you.
i would like to know what kind of stone this is please
Hello, I was wondering your opinion on a good beginners faceting machine that won’t break the bank, any recommendations are helpful
Probably a facetron in the USA.
