- Today we did a comparison demonstrating the difference from Amsoil 100% synthetic 75W-140 GL-5 differential gear lube comparing it to Valvoline 75W-140 GL-5 differential gear lube.
Both are tested by the API & certified with the GL-5 specification with the limited slip additive already in the lube. The modifiers are proprietary in AMSOIL and that's what makes AMSOIL perform better with it being 100% synthetic compared to Valvoline SYNPOWER synthetic blend which they call full synthetic a portion of the synthetic is mineral oil.

I looked up all the Amsoil tests and Valvoline would have to be the second best gear lube on the market, you were brave comparing the strongest of the competition!

Amsoils only problem is they are mainly online and rely on people becoming vendors instead of stocking Walmarts and big box stores. I will never wait for something to ship 7 days I’ll just go down to the store and buy whatever synthetic is on the shelf.

Truth be told, this video probably sold a lot of Valvoline gear oil, given it's 1/3 the price and has pretty decent performance. Choose Amsoil if you want to keep your vehicle forever!!

changing your fluid more often is the most important part. using any high quality gear oil with frequent fluid changes you will be worry free

I have used 55w-140 Red Line, which has horrible flow properties earlier in the morning here in winter in Washington, DC. This gear oil has taken my 15 ATS from a mpg of average of 22 mpg and to the hwy of 31 mpg to 20 mpg to 26 mpg hwy. I am switching back to 75w-90 Amsoil, which had better cold flow properties. I had recently went to an aftermarket diff unit in the ATS, and temporarly had to change the oil in the OEM diff unit.
Interesting never heard of that viscosity but I'm sure they have special racing fluids which are specifically maybe just for racing not sure if you're a preferred customer but that gives the best value on the products💯👍

That's what I used to think before I tried Amsoil It is a big difference It's 100% synthetic They can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's 25% synthetic or more so when you buy a lot of the major oils they are all a synthetic blend It's basically like a high seed juicy compared to 100% orange juice Big difference This is a description that will show how much of a difference they are.

I need some thing to thicken my toyota yaris gear oil (automatic 2012 model), it gear does not shift smooth, it only works fine when i use some thick oil
But the problem is that after 2 or 3 months it behaves same again, i hope the oil get thinner by time. So i need some solution, which i think best is to use thick oil (dont have money to repiar or change gear box)

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, there was no quantifiable data shown of the properties of either product. A hand mixer doesn't prove anything and the "information" shown is from the manufacturer, not an unbiased source. The best "information" in the video was the initial cold pour, but even that was done by hand and was therefore not infallible data. Can you devise actual tests for multiple brands and then show the results?

Basically it's an old car with lots of scratches all original and as it ages it gives it more character so basically the vehicle will never be restored it's just going to be driven and maintained

I was just wonder why amsoil quart bottles don't come with the seal under the Cap? I have recently opened and used 0w-20, 75w-90, 0w-40FS European formula quarts bottles and none of em had that seals under the caps
They have a seal around the lid and once you crack that then it's open the ones that have the seal on top are like the easy squeeze pack but not the standard court

You could tell immediately there was a bias and this was meant to show you how good Amsoil is rather than A true comparison.
The cups should’ve been in a cradle, that you turn from the side where they turn exactly at the same rate. Just way too easy to introduce bias the way this video was conducted.

You can add anything to AMSOIL.
If you disturb the chemistry of the signature series motor oil amsoil will not give the warranty of
25, 000mi or one year.
But there's lots of things you could add to it You could mix it with any other oil regular mineral oil anything.
I would have gotten the Amsoil but your lucky to even find good differential oil in Jan 2022 both Autozone and Oreilly were very low in stock of top tier oil I had to have Autozone look in the back for Valvoline 75W-140 GL-5 differential gear lube Amsoil was no where to be found. Walmart is cleaned out of all oils, there sometimes in stock but 2022 its get what you can....

I have a question ... I have two 2020 Mustangs, one a GT convertible and a GT350. I am planning on using the 75w-140 in lieu of the 75w-90 ... I drive the cars as intended and put on lots of miles. What are your thoughts ... I also bought the additive from Amsoil
That's awesome yeah the difference is you have a little thicker film with the thicker stuff if you're doing like heavy loaded ships definitely a good upgrade however on the highway you'll get little less fuel mileage because of the it's thicker so just a little bit of a give and take if I was doing all racing I would probably stick with the thicker stuff if I was doing more just City driving I would probably stick with the OEM viscosity👍

I change my oil once it hits the 30% mark.
@@Syntheticoilprotection Getting better gas mileage in my 2020 F150 3.5L Supercab after changing out the front and rear differential and the transmission fluid with Amsoil. And I used the 140 rear end oil in the Mustang and it runs cooler as a result, even at 155 mph ... And the gas mileage did not change ... must be the extreme heat

It depends on if it's a flat tappet cam or regular motor roller rocker I would go with the 0w 30 Signature Series if it was my truck if it is not a flat tappet cam you'll see it here in the lookup guide.

The thickness of the lubricant is insignificant it's the sheer stability of a vehicle under high heat of a lubricant under high heat the higher quality lubricants don't Shear down under heat and stress and extreme conditions especially with fuel delusion and other different things that come into play.
