Y’all should react to their song “roots remain” song is one of their most emotional and has a godly solo, great lyrics and riffs too.
My favorite song on one of my favorite albums of all time. While listening to it with a friend on LSD right after the release, this song stopped us both in our tracks and brought us to tears without knowing the meaning of the song. After finding out the meaning it means even more.

My second favorite album ever behind Blackwater Park. It’s really meant to be listened to as a whole but this is of course an excellent standalone song as well.

You guys gotta do Hearts Alive by Mastodon, you guys haven't done anything from their Leviathan album which I personally feel like is their best. The whole album is cool, it's all based on the book Moby Dick and takes you along with Captain Ahab as he loses his mind at sea chasing the whale and ultimately meets his demise. Definitely one worth listening to from beginning to end.

I have a playlist where Jaguar God plays directly after this and the two songs go amazingly well together.
I understand what you're saying about Scott's vocals in this track. I'm not super into his vocals usually, but in the context of this song (Skye Dailor's suicide), especially after knowing that Brann himself asked Scott to sing it, and how Scott approached Brann's father to know more about Skye, and that he had a picture of her with him while recording the song for them... all of that together makes the emotion of his vocals hit _hard_ for me.
And you can see how personal this is for Brann when they play it live. Troy usually steps forward to sing Brann's parts louder, with Brann just backing him up. I don't even know how he sings anything at all, I'd be crying the entire song.
The sentimentality of the moment is now forever ruined by the news that Scott Kelly regularly abused his wife and children.
