    Gajananam Bhuta Ganadhi Sevitam
    Kapittha Jambu Palasara Bhaksitam |
    Uma Sutam Shoka Vinasha Karanam
    Namami Vignesvara Pada Pankajam ||
    (I Salute) Sri Gajananam ( Who is having an Elephant Face ), Who is Served by the Bhuta Ganas (Celestial Attendants or Followers) and Others,
    Who Eats the Core of Kapittha (Wood Apple) and Jambu (Rose Apple) Fruits,
    Who is the Son of Devi Uma (Devi Parvati) and the Cause of Destruction of Sorrows,
    I Prostrate at the Lotus-Feet of Vigneshwara ( the God Who Removes Obstacles ).
    ari tiru maruganE vighna vinAyakA
    vinai keDa aruLiya gaNapati jaya jaya
    taDikkai tudikkai yAnai mukattavar
    dEvargaL gaNapati
    gaNapati kauttuvam kaTRavar vinaiyaRa
    Divine (tiru) nephew (maruganE) of vishNu (ari/hari)! Destroyer (vinAyakA) of obstacles (vighna)!
    Salutations (jaya jaya) to gaNESa (gaNapati) who blessed us by coming into being (aruLiya) so that the consequences of our deeds (vinai) may perish (keDa)!
    One with a stout body (daDikkai), a trunk (tudikkai) and an elephant (yAnai) face (mukhattavar)!
    The one who leads (pati) the god's (dEvargaL) army of bhUta gaNas!
    Let the consequences of the deeds (vinai) of those that have learnt (kaTRavar) this poem (kauttuvam) on gaNESa (gaNapati) be destroyed (aRa)!
