You got more patients than me on what you dealt with getting that thing. Looks like that company has issues. In the end I do like it though. Just hope you don't have issues when you need a new filter.
I'm planning on doing the hemi 80mm throttle body and cold air intake for my sxt as well. On YT trying to see how much performance boost you get out of it and other's experiences with the parts. Good luck with yours.
I just installed a K&N(with the long pipe) on my ‘17 sxt. I had the same thought on the metal so I went with the plastic instead. The sound is way better than I was expecting. I had issues as well, They shipped out the wrong filter adapter but just a 3 day setback.
I think K&N is moving headquarters to Texas from cali right so it’s a madhouse over there but CS was very helpful and nice. Love your straight pipes bro if I didn’t live in cali I would do the same.
Throttle body upgrade, airaid cold air intake , oil catch can ,rip supercharger coils , fully straight piped . U will love this setup sounds great and you feel way more power you could beat rt chargers n prolly stock rt challengers
I feel your pain, I received the wrong color filter that was produced upside down two times in a row. Hopefully the third time they’ll send me the right one.
A cold air intake is needed for the better mods that will actually boost your power and throttle response, these are recommended to get before you get a Tune and and/or a Ripp supercharger kit which is the two mods that actually do significantly impact your power output
I like the look of this one a LOT - I wonder if there's - whatever the tubey-parts are called - with options for that as well? The Dam and the filter look great here: I've always wanted to have something different than - more black plastic under the hood to foster performance - especially that dreaded "trash can lid." That someone in the aftermarket automotive industry hasn't taken that under it's wing as a GIANT piece of to-do list is odd. Imagine if you made something that looked COOL - that all V6ers could buy and install? Thanks for the great video and looking forward to more via your plans video!
Send your throttle body out to fastman to have it ported, not to pricey one of the best mods don't buy after market fastman will port yours and send it back to you takes about two weeks, I did it on my 2017 scat pack and it did wonders for my car.
Automatic like bro didn't even have to watch it yet 🤙🏾💯 and btw bro try to see if u can zip tie ur front license plate on the bottom front grill...will definitely be a better look
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I actually used to have my front license plate zip-tied to my front-lower grille for the longest time! I really disliked the way it looked, but I also dislike the way it looks wedged between the windshield and dashboard… I really wish Texas didn’t require a front license plate.
Loved video However, how frustrating every time you stopped for traffic..the was a slow car or truck followed by a perfectly spaced other car and truck
We're going to pull the trigger on this as the Summer ends. Thanks for the video! Lookin' in the rear view now over the last year, what would you recommend for a 2022 Charger GT (v6) owner when it comes to cold-air intakes? I love the look of this one and just don't see nearly enough in the way of performance or sound comparisons on the Internet. Let us know and thanks again for the video!
Hi 2021 GT Challenger owner here. afe momentum gt cold air intake is probably the top air intake available for challengers/chargers. The perfomance gain is slightly better than the Airaid BUT it is also 500 dollars where as this is 350.
I am 45 years old mechanic and have had many cars & trucks, all with performance V8's with upgrades and I never paid full new price for cold air intake's because most are no cooler than stock & add very little power, they will make more intake sound & make exhaust sound better. An air kit with headers catback high flow cats & proper tune all at once will make more power & torque, but still buying used or on sale parts and installing all at once will be a way better experience than spending $300 or more on intake then $1500 on catback etc.. and not really feeling and or little change
@@Sirsoulja31 A custom dyno tune would be the best bang for your buck, even with all stock parts a good tune will give you more power and most tuners have deals where if later you add an intake or exhaust they will tweak the tune for free. I wouldn't spend a bunch of money on a hand held tuner since they won't really add much power, if you can find one for around $100. - $150. and a used intake & catback for cheap, all three together will add some power plus you can read and clear trouble codes and the car will sound much better than stock, as for what exhaust, go on RUclips and type in your car and exhaust and there are tons of before & after videos, just listen on a computer with the sound connected to a stereo with a subwoofer, a laptop or cellphone just don't give the true sound a good stereo does, or at least listen through a good over ear headphones.
I have the hellcat bottom for my airfilter so I was wondering if I would be able to fit this airfilter into that without using the airaid "walls" that come with it. to have a more OEM look like the V8's have. Would this be possible with this filter and the hardware that comes with?
I've ordered through AM and I received an order without the hardware. I had to wait for that come in again. I'm not sure if I would order with them again. Lol
@@JeremyJOH right. Usually I give a company a few chances but with this one, I'm not too sure. I always read reviews also before I give them a try, and honestly they had alot of similar experiences. Kinda sad for a company that puts themselves out there.
I believe that AmericanMuscle drop-ships these directly from the manufacture, so I would assume that all of these problem regarding the intake would be Airaid’s fault.
I deleted both of the mid-mufflers and both of the resonators, and had 2.5” stainless steel pipe welded in its place. I also have staggered quad tips welded in place.
When modding any car, you gotta keep in mind the stock tune on your vehicle is meant for the stock parts. If you add bolt-on mods such as a different intake, wider throttle body etc it always helps to tune your car, however it’s not necessary. However I feel like you’re cheating yourself out of maximizing your performance mods by not tuning your car after installing mods.
Thanks for the advice same thing happen to me, about to do my return @ american muscle, btw was that a radar detector in your car if it was check out gen5diy.
I need that playlist bro... That's some chill ass music
Nice I added my a intake and pedal commander it’s moving pretty quick , next imma do a Tune and add some borla exhaust
Good ole American Muscle, I always have issues with them. Great 👍🏾 video I ended up doing K&N on my RT .
Oil filter is good, but it's best to have two so you can give the filter a long time to dry after you oil it.
You got more patients than me on what you dealt with getting that thing. Looks like that company has issues. In the end I do like it though. Just hope you don't have issues when you need a new filter.
Love these videos man!! Looking to get a v6 challenger of my own once these crazy used car prices go down
I got the exact same one for my challenger. I ordered it from Amazon got it the next day
Can u plz send a link I’m interested in buying the same one
Looking to add the Same Air intake myself to my car with a 80mm throttle body as well to my 2018 SXT Challenger by next weekend.

You would think that there would be better quality control in place, considering the premium you pay for these products.

@@JeremyJOH Hey I have a 2021 challenger and there’s no intake hose what do I do please help
Where in the video does he talk about metal vs plastic? What’s the main differences?
What is that 2nd line connected to? What does it do? When installing my cai on my 2020 sxt it didn’t have that so I’m curious?
Finally someone who gets straight to the point lol 😂
I’m in the process of paying off my SXT tryna mid mines a bit
I really like this one because you can still keep Most of your original parts how much?
Okay but your car sounds aamamaaqazing.! I have an SXT plus and it could neeeveerrrr. Is that a borla atak ?

I won’t be ordering this from them but from somewhere else. Looks good
But does adding a cold air intake really give you
much extra horsepower? Maybe two to 3 and that's it according to a local Dodge mechanic.
You gain 11 HP i recommend getting pedal commands
not even close, like he said 2-3 horse power is what you should expect, maybe 5 or 6 with tune@@mrclassix2002

Great install! Fortunately, mine did include the c-clap for the filter. Whew!
I was told the hose has to be rerouted. Mine is on the left side. I had to buy another on to re-run it

So whats the different between buying it with tube and this one?

I bought the same intake as u from American muscle. Damn I hope I don’t go through all that hassle with shipping
Sounds great my man!! I have a large intake as well and it makes it sound awesome!!
Nice I’m gonna look up the website and grab one myself

Would this work on a 2020 with the intake hose being on the opposite side of the engine?
i appreciate of you reply ! does it need any tunning after installation?? also does it fits Chrysler 300s 2018 v6 ??

I own a 2022 Challenger Scat Pack and I'm interested in getting the cold air intake. How much did you paid for yours?
These are about $350
How is it a cold air intake when the engine is now sucking in all the hot air from the engine bay?
You should try out the mopar cold air intake
I’ve never been really interested in it, especially for the premium it sells for.
@ Miguel Vega Can you tell any difference on power with Mopar cold air vs other brands?
I've ordered through AM and I received an order without the hardware. I had to wait for that come in again. I'm not sure if I would order with them again. Lol
I’ve ordered a few parts from AmericanMuscle before, with no issue. It was pretty frustrating that there were so many issues this time around.

Lmao they did the same thing to me
They still got these cold air intakes in stock
How much did that cost where you get it? I would like to do that on my charger.
So did you change your injectors or are you just running lean?
is there a way to get those grommet pieces by themselves? i already have the intake but i don’t think that hose is locked in good enough
What exhaust setup are you using?
What exhaust is used in that sxt. Sounds good
Did you unplug the battery before starting??
I’ve seen some people unplug it so just curious. Looking to add an intake to my car
You should have gotten the injen
Great video. Did you disconnect the battery before install? If not did you have any issues?
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I did not disconnect the battery and experienced no issues doing so.
What exhaust system did you go with ?
I deleted both of the mid-mufflers and both of the resonators, and had 2.5” stainless steel pipe welded in its place. I also have staggered quad tips welded in place.
@@JeremyJOH So actually straight-piped from Cat back?
Thats an open air box. It should be called "hot air intake". Theres no way that adds 15hp. Better off with the stock setup.
does this intake work for a 2020 sxt
What exhaust do you have
does this void your warranty?
Who the fuck they got working in shipping and receiver up there at air raid bruh lol holy shit
Are you planning to trade in the challenger sometime or you gonna pay it off?
were u able to add fog lights to ur car?
My vehicle came equipped with fog lights.
did you do anything else with exhaust to make it sound different or that’s just the cold air intake ?
Type exhaust you are running?
cat back borla attack with mbrp tips
Are the exhaust stock?
what kind of mpg are you getting after the intake install?? stock exhaust ??
Is it supposed to go up or down?
Nice v6
No tune needed with the air intake ?

hey i have a question did u delete the mid mufflers and resonators ? which one did you do?
I deleted both of the mid-mufflers and both of the resonators, and had 2.5” stainless steel pipe welded in its place.
What do you have as your exhaust system?
So no tune needed?
Does it pop more every shift down? I was hoping for a rev 😂
No lol that would have to do with your actual exhaust system
mines kinda does
That boat is still slow my boy
Why such an asshole?
Heres your trophy 🏆
Great video
6* inch
So another words don’t order from them!
American Muscle should rename its company to Don't plan on getting your parts right whatsoever.
👍 nice
6" clamp
Not worth $400
Thanks for the advice same thing happen to me, about to do my return @ american muscle, btw was that a radar detector in your car if it was check out gen5diy.
Hey I want to know if you ever had a check engine light, and did you have it tuned?
No, installing this intake didn’t trigger a CEL, and it doesn’t require a tune.
Before installing the air intake u need to disconnect the battery right?
Nooo lmao i didnt
What exhaust system do you have on it?
Wich exhaust do you have ??
I have a 2022 sxt challenger.. but my pcv line is on the other side..would this cold air intake works?
Yes

Will this fit a 2022 sxt challenger?
