Hi Rosabella! Your toaster looks really comfy. I might have a go at one as I love raglan sleeves and don't have any patter like that so will get the pdf. Lovely fabric too. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to your next vlog. xx
Hi Rosa - I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. As always, this was fun, interesting and informative and great timing! I received my Toaster pattern yesterday and my daughter really likes it too. Looks like I may be making more than one then. I know you like Liberty fabrics and I did see some really nice sweatshirt-type floral fabric in there recently...I have my eye on it for this pattern if it's not too expensive. Also Fabworks and Fabric Godmother. Px
Hey Rosa, love the sweater. Fabworks have a great selection of sweatshirt fabric if you're after something a bit heavier and they even have co-coordinating cuffing for some of the colourways xxx
Lovely make, Rosa.. I made version 2 and will now try version one. There are some nice warm winter fabrics on Dragonflyfabrics, including wool viscose which is also sold on Sew Essential.
I've struggled with sweater knits too! I found one locally at The Shuttle (Shipley, near Bradford) but Fabworks is worth a look. Lightweight boiled wool jersey makes lovely Toaster Sweaters.
I would call it a sweatshirt, myself, because to me a Sweater or Jumper is something that has been knitted or crocheted. If it is made with a tighter knit, like a jersey or ponte or something like that, it's a sweatshirt. I don't know. But, bit of weirdness: I have been going through your older videos since subscribing and must have been watching you too much lately, because you popped up in my dream last night. You came to my house and helped my tidy my bedroom. No idea why. LOL
Oh this review was so timely, my next make is the Toaster Sweater no.1! Yours is very lovely. Its a lot looser than I thought it would be, so that was very interesting to see. Im curious about your tip to use clear elastic to stabilise the shoulder. Since this is a raglan sleeve where did you put the clear elastic? Thanks for the review :)
It looks delightfully cosy and I rather like the slightly floppy neckband - it just seems to add to the appeal. And everything is better with polka dots, of course!
I'm really curious to know what the guts of your knit-makes look like! I've been really inspired by your projects using only a sewing machine, and I'd love an idea of what to expect on the insides - if you could share a little more about that on your next knit-sew I'd love it! Thanks so much x
I did the second version and loved the pattern so I'm going to do the first one. I am from Canada but if interested, lovely knits available from Blackbird fabrics. Canadian online fabric store.
I have traced this pattern out and should be making up a version tomorrow and the other one later in the week. Half term here so not as much time to myself during the day as usual.
This is the video that put the Toaster Sweater on my radar! I know this it's older now and you might not have an answer anyway, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to ask other than sending Sewhouse7 an email - Do you think this sweater is slouchy enough that I could make it out of a woven fleece (so, no stretch as far as I know)? I bought a fantastic fleece and was hoping to make a tacky Christmas sweater using this pattern, but I didn't even consider that the lack of stretch might be an issue. Maybe if I size up? It's 100% okay if you don't have an answer, of course! Yours looks great by the way I love the polka dots!
You can try fabric.com, moodfabrics.com for sweater knit fabrics. I made this pattern and love it! I never thought I would make a sweater before this pattern! I made out of Boucle fabric and it looks high end! Thanks for your good pattern recommendations.
Such a cute jumper, Rosa! I went for version 2 because I don't really like turtlenecks, but yours looks great because it doesn't sit very high and I quite like that style! Here's my version if you'd like to take a look: athinakakou.com/2017/02/12/pattern-review-toaster-sweater-by-sew-house-seven/
I love watching your videos and I find you have a fun way of taling. Just one thing - when you are showing tops and necklines, put you beautiful hair out of the way for a moment!
How do you go about printing at a copy shop ,do you email them the pdf, I also dont have a printer at present and would love to make the sew over it heather dress,
I love this pattern! You inspired me to make this in fact, I’m wearing the one right now, and I did a video of my 3(!!!) versions on my channel. I’d love for you to check it out! :):)
I always enjoy your in-depth reviews. Thank You!

I love it, we call it sweatshirt here 😊. Your fabric choice is awesome. Have a great day Rosa.

I'll definitely check that one out. I like the idea that I can send it a plotter instead of printing it on letter sized paper.
I like your version of this the best of all! Other ones looked kind of dumpy so I wasn't going to get it. Now after seeing yours, I may get it!

Got the pattern recently. Hopefully will start soon! Yours looks lovely Rosabella :)

I will do so next time! Personally my overlocker gives me so much grief I think it's neater just using a sewing machine, for me at least.
Yay for this review, I've been debating buying this pattern for ages!! Think there'll be one on order my way soon :o
Hobbling Handmades if you think you'd like both - there is a discount if you buy the combo vs. buying each separately. 😃
Ooooo, thanks for letting me know!
Looks lovely on you, nothing better than a snuggly top.
Oh Check out Rachel Lang on here she made 2 toasters in Jan and sewed one with the raglan seam on the outside looked great.
Ooooomg I just want to buy you an overlocker and a coverstitch machine. They are the bomb!

Love the color and great job I sewing it. Later
depending on the fabric, in America it would be called a sweatshirt or turtle neck sweater.
love your accent! and cute video :) :)
