I love using this jet, love diving on enemy jets and taking them out. It's so satisfying to get a kill with the 2x 30mms

You probably know this already but the combat flaps give you 1-2 extra g’s of pull at any speed and they don’t rip
If you go really fast (>mach1) the combat flaps will turn your plane into a brick, you actually have to be careful in dives with them when you go supersonic.

I flew this plane out the other day. Enjoyed it way more than expected.
I think the thing with ADEN/DEFAs is that they're just almost like MK 108s or Mig guns. There's a slight weirdness to them that has to be learnt, although the learning curve isn't as bad as the other 2. The problem is everyone and their mother has ADENs but nobody can agree on where to put the damn things, so swiching aircraft always produces a deviation from your mean expectation. The more planes you fly, the worse it gets, because that average performance gets cemented in your mind
About time you started changing your mind on this thing, I always thought it was one of the most enjoyable vehicles in-game. The power you have is just ridiculous! If somebody gets on your six (if it's not an EEL) you can just put it in a gentle climb and wave goodbye to the guy. chasing you.
How do you get your speed and other information green?

@@WhooptieDo I, ... um ... I was making a joke, which I thought was obvious by my use of Chaika as an overexaggerated example. I was making fun of the fact the "fun fact" is something a lot of subsonic jets can do, albeit some only once, if you get them high enough.

As a few other folks have said, you should look into making more extensive use of combat flaps in the 4-800kph range. You can pull 11-12g easily to get a snapshot, and in the case of the Venom, you would have easily pulled onto his six in that first vertical. They don't slow you down that much and the additional lift is massive, since they're leading edge only. Glad to see the beautiful Etendard getting some love.
The problem with pulling those 11-12G's is dumping your speed. The plane has acceleration, but even without flaps it dumps speed quicker than most it faces...
Yeh for sure. I've just found it very useful in getting quick kills when I have energy to spare.
Never expected this thing to get a good review
Well 95 m/s of climb rate is really fucking deadly at 9.0
It is an INSANELY good plane though. It's the second best accelerating subsonic jet in the game (better than YS, J32B, F11), got very solid armament and good maneuverability, what's not to love.
It does bleed quite a bit of speed in maneuvers though, and it's not really the best too speed aircraft out there.
I didn't expect the etendard to be good but my first matches with it changed my mind it's really good even stock
This plane looks great visually, I love the intakes and nose
whooptie reminds me of a more upbeat and awake mcchickenbites if that makes sense(anyone else miss that guy? flew with him a few times, was fun) either way, love the videos man
Nice video, as usual! Thanks! Will use the tips, it's not as bad as I like to believe, scored a few kills with it (by basically only BnZooming), but yeah, stock, this plane is a bit of a brick, suffering a lot against harriers now.

I have been playing a lot in this br and i feel like you are pretty much done if you get a good Etendard pilot on your 6. If you arent in something like a mig15.
How did you manage to change your hud colour?
I love this aircraft, I liked it ever since I spaded it, but they fixed something about either it's drag, or it's trust a while ago (it used to lose all of its great acceleration past like 900-1000kmh, now it bolts all the way to its 1100 top speed).
It accelerates faster (even if just slightly) than a G91YS (0-1000kmh on the deck in 01:04, 3 seconds faster than a YS, with both on minimum fuel load and 2 missiles), has more than enough maneuverability to pull for a shot on anything, 2 missiles for F-11 freekills (lol) and the guns are great if you can aim them (which I still struggle with a lot after like 300+ kills in it).
It's definitely not the fastest level flight top speed, but you can get away from pretty much anything in the MM by either diving or climbing.

Well, better get used to belly mounted DEFAs... cuz that's all you're getting from the Mirage III to the Rafale
For me, as an SB-only jet pilot, I use 600m convergence on Mirage and Etendard, as opposed to 400m usually, and the guns work much better that way.
Rafales don't have a dual defas?
@@lucienaras2165 Rafale has a single DEFA, but still under the belly AFAIK
that's the french gun from the Mystère to the Mirage 2000D renové (which might be equiped with a gun pod in the following years)
The Rafale use a GIAT 30 which is quite different :)

I ran Gun convergence at 800m whit vertical targeting for belly Defas. I was always surprised how much easier they are to aim when they are mounted regularly like on the G91 R3.

mirage is really good with his magic and his maneuverability, etendard is really fun to play but right now 8.7/9.0 get destroyed by 9.7 (it's a shame because it's my favorite jet)
Cant wait untill they add the Super Etendar. It has an afterburner engine, better misiles, and a better radar. Cant wait!

I hope we will see a navy attacker line one day for France, with all the planes they already added into the game i'm sure there is room to do one right now.
Keen for the Super Etendard too if it ever graces. It's a shame I didn't think ahead, because France has indigenous jet production and will continue to get cool jets all the way up to the modern age; but I havn't grinded out the tree QQ
It’s definitely worth it, I’ve grinded out all the way to the Mirage during lockdown, the tree is full of a lot of great stuff, including a few epic American bits. Very fun tree
unlike britain or germany it will keep having exotic jets like the US and the USSR

Just before the starfighters were added into the game i bought this plane, and i instantly clicked with it, its one of my favourites however 9.7's manage to always catch me. 9.7's are pretty annoying
I just recently started using my keyboard more and the entry frag at 0:17 seconds, god damn, I wish I was able to do that kind of stuff. But here I am still struggling to tell what the guy on my butt is trying to do and lose people from my sight and have them sneak back on me because I got tunnel visioned hard on a juicy bait.
I love the Etendard, but its a REALLY hard plane to fly. I can't seem to ever hit anything with those damn guns!
Also im always amazed that i see more people flying the super mystere over the etandard because this thing just accelerates so fucking fast. Yeah the super might be faster top speed but it takes so goddamn long to get there. Not to mention it burns more energy in a turn than this thing does. Yet I rarely ever see anyone flying the etendard.
Anybody with a bit more knowledge of French aircraft design that knows why they opted for having no afterburner on the Etendard family? They're roughly from the same time period as the Mirage III, and use variants of the same SNECMA Atar engine, 8 and 9 respectively? In theory to me at least it seems like it should've been easy to install an afterburner if they actually wanted to.

Both are good, I'd probably prefer the 86K most days though... roll rate makes it nice for defensive flying, but it barely pulls enough to dodge missiles, esp at altitude.

I actually bought the Israeli vautour just to grind for this jet.

F11F-1 will lose in any case. The winner is clear.
@@Virgan1209 If you use and f11 to duel then you're playing it wrong anyways. The f11 can outrun and outclimb the etendard 90 percent of the time.

The only advantage the F11 has is top speed, and maybe MER.

so whooptie finally got around to not calling it shit, pretty happe he likes it, how he feels was how i felt when it was added. well sucks it has a major engine bug tho. try take a look at why it doesnt achieve higher top speeds. The thing looses around 40% thrust above 900 km/h, probably a balancing feature, since it would hit 1200 easy if it didn't do that, well still sucks tho. Even told gaijin mods about it, but since i dont have concrete proof it didnt happen irl they didnt wanna do shit. XD
Well maybe he knows some gaijin dev or mod, he might be able to take it up with them. maybe make it 9.3 - 9.7 without the engine bug.
btw. if you wanna play it smart, keep it under 900. you'll have more power /weight than anything really, almost twice that of anything else

it is more powerful, less heavy and more maneuverable . it's just that unlike the Super mystère B2 you can choose if you want to be maneuverable or not by using your flaps

The entendard is the worst stock jet I've ever flown, slower than an a-5, turn worse than sabres and migs, poor roll rate, terrible energy retention

dude this is what i hate about this game. This fucking trick shots you do, the way you do boom in zoom in mach jets. You are damn good at this game but holy shit this would be impossible in real life. Thank goodness for bullshit mouse aim and labels.
