The man on the plane was D. B. Cooper, who hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727 aircraft, in United States airspace on November 24, 1971. During the flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington, Cooper told a flight attendant he had a bomb, and demanded $200,000 in ransom.
You forgot the most important part! After the plane had landed and Cooper got the ransom, he asked for the plane to take off again and for the captain to fly low. Cooper parachuted from the plane alone, and since then, no one has ever heard from or seen him again! He disappeared like a ghost..
And he actually jumped out of a plane mid-flight after getting the money with the parachute, and was never seen again by anyone. This is also why putting Loki in this role (transporting back to Asgard during his downfall) is so funny.

It’s just like Deadpool 3….when they Get Zapped by their sticks and erased from existence….they go to the Void. Where it’s a total different area off of the timeline.
Nothing happens to the original time line. It continues on as if Loki never left. When he picks up the Tesseract he creates a new timeline that exists along side the Sacred Timeline. One of the best MCU D+ shows made. During the filming of this show, Tom Hiddleston would do what he called "Loki Lectures" to help the cast and crew understand Loki's POV and thought processes to assist in continues writing and production. The Infinity Stones only work in the timeline they came from. They are nothing but rocks in the TVA. There are multiple universes within the sacred timeline.
You’re asking very good questions. And your memory of little details from films long ago is very impressive. I would love to answer your questions but I don’t want to spoil anything. You’re very smart and are quite capable of figuring things out for yourself. Those are just a few reasons I enjoy watching your reactions. ✌️😉💕
This takes the Marvel universe to the next level, Loki is one of those wild series. I think you will fall in love with this. Also Owen Wilson aka Mobius entered the room. Those 2 have such incredible chemistry. Tom and Owen.
So pruning is basically "Ol Yellering a universe," as Deadpool would put it after a variance has occured. The variant who causes it is arrested and the timeline is erased. So basically an entire universe copy -1 person gets erased with every prune.
If an event is big enough to create an alternate timeline the TVA steps in and “prunes” it by eradicating it from existence completely leaving only the “Sacred Timeline.” This series is amazing and I can’t wait for you to get to the real meat and potatoes of it!
And the end of season 2 for me is one of the MCU peaks for me story and characterwise, Loki is such a brilliant character and Hiddleston plays him so well.
Let me tickle your brain. When Loki is watching the review of his life alone, coming to grips with his death. He's feeling what we felt when watching this in theaters. He's basically watching B-Roll of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The TVA interior scenes were filmed in the Marriott Marquis hotel in downtown Atlanta during the pandemic lockdown when the hotel was closed. I've actually stayed at that hotel, and the architecture is very recognizable. Trilith Studios, where a lot of Marvel films and shows were done, is in Fayetteville, GA, part of the Atlanta suburbs. So they use nearby locations when they can. Ironically, part of Atlanta's power comes from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Random events can cause branches from the main timeline. Pruning is deleting those branches by removing whatever caused the branch, and resetting time back to the branch point.
FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT, JAX!!! This is a ride!!! the "time keepers" are the judges of what is supposed to happen and what is a "deviation" from the "sacred timeline". when a deviant, such as THIS Loki, is identified and judged, they are usually "pruned" and sent to the "void'. (the same place that Deadpool and Wolverine were sent.) Alioth is the guardian of the void and it consumes the deviants that are sent by the Time variant authority (TVA).
Prune means exactly what you probably think it does. A variant creates a new branch in the timeline when they go off the sacred timeline and the TVA then cut it/prune it all the people in that branch are erased from existence when they use a reset charge while a pruning rod or stick only erases what it hits
No spoilers, this is based on just info from this episode. Every time someone breaks from the sacred timeline it creates a branch. That branch off the main timeline has everything the main timeline has in it at that time, just following a different path. So if someone with an infinity stone branched off, they'd have their own infinity stone copy off the main timeline. As far as pruning, apply the same arborist concept to branches of trees as you would to timeline branches. They are cut out and removed.
So exciting that you've made it to the Loki show. You're in for a treat. One of the best shows in the mcu. Only thing better I think is season 2. Enjoy!
Hello Jax!😊 Great to see you starting to react to this well made TV series!😉 Loki is s very popular character in the MCU. Great reactions to your very first episode, Jax!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
20:40 Resetting is resetting the timeline to the way it SUPPOSED to be and if a Variant is being reset, then that VARIANT is being placed back into the reset timeline. I would like to tell you more about pruning, but I believe it will be explained better in future episodes.
The director used to work for a branch of the brittish government, can't remember which (I think it was a London service, but it might be a national one). The mindless bureaucracy she witnessed left a mark.
15:36 Think about it this way. How could someone do something so catastrophic that it derails the entire timeline of their universe? "Oh, he's got an infinity stone. Yeah, that makes sense now." The only reason this Loki managed to affect the timeline enough to become a variant was by touching the tesseract and disappearing, which is an infinity stone itself.
Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston were wonderful together in the very charming Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris, which has an all around excellent cast.
18:54 Think of each alternate reality as a branch coming off the sacred timeline. In order to keep the timeline going as dictated by the Timekeepers, the branches need to be pruned like the branches of a tree or bush to keep the overall timeline 'healthy.'
There are a multitude of alternate timelines within the sacred timeline. It's when too many alternating branches happen that a timeline gets out of control and gets pruned to prevent incursions and a multiversal war.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, which you already reacted to at the beginning, they said the sacred timeline, which is the timeline of the Marvel universe. Every time somebody branches away from the sacred timeline it has to be corrected by the TVA. And they prune that timeline. Loki by grabbing the Tesseract in avengers endgame change the timeline And that’s why he has to be pruned, but Mobius decides to use him to hunt a variant of Loki. There are other universes as seen in Deadpool and Wolverine. I can’t say too much without giving some stuff away later on in the show and from season two. So I will end at this. Great reaction can’t wait for episode two.
Apparently the loki reactions have been out on patreon for a while but she's just now posting them on youtube which is why she knew about the pruning and the TVA when reacting to Deadpool vs Wolverine
Reactor release schedules are so interesting. There's the Patreon release, the much delayed YT release, and the stuff that gets rushed to YT because it's hot right now ( like when everyone put up their Deadpool 3 videos in the same week)
Here's an easy way to think of the reset charges.... remember when the Ancient One was explaining time to Bruce in Endgame? Bruce promised to return the Time Stone to the point in time where it left. If the stone failed to be returned to that point, a "reset charge" would reset the timeline so that stone never left. But it would create a 'variant' of the stone (the one Bruce took) and this would create another stone.
Loki is far and away my favorite Norse god, and although Marvel Loki is pretty damn tame compared to the original mythos i still have always loved him this series only deepened that love it also spawned an absolutely INCREDIBLE trend on Tiktok of people dressing as TVA members and going to differing random events across all of fiction and pruning them if something was out of place. they got SUPER creative with hiding themselves in plain sight and using the music of the show to make seemingly normal situations seem super ominous if you didnt know what was happening. one of the few Tiktok trends that i was actually super sad to see go, it was awesome
It's not that the tv wants there to be ONE timeline. See the animation - it's like a rope. Made up of many threads (different timelines/universes). The tv just ensures they co-exist in an harmonious way. A way which prevents them clashing and starting the multidimensional war. Each universe flows in a way that intertwined with others in a way to form the one sacred timeline (rope)
Multiple Universes = Multiverse, so you will see there is multiple variants of the same characters in separate earths for example, so they usually come with a numerical designation like earth-112 , earth-344. etc. Earth-616 is the "sacred timeline"
My favorite MCU show. I'm sure she's ahead but here is how the whole thing works (no spoilers) It is a "single Timeline" basically you can consider it the MCU timeline. There was some war in the past between different timelines and the time keepers created / unified it into a single timeline. The timeline naturally tries to branch which would create parallel timelines, so the TVA "prunes" those branches before they get too large and would possibly wage war like before. This was hinted at in Endgame by the Sorcerer Supreme, she mentioned how taking the stones would create a branch, which is why they had to put them back. I'm guessing what happened in Endgame was allowed because they put them back, but Loki got in trouble because he, and that stone, weren't put back from that event. (Don't talk to me about Rogers not returning and apparently staying and living with Peggy, I never liked that since it seemed to break their very own rules) The "Resetting" looks similar to when they poked the person with the stick, so they do that to an area, I think, not the whole universe, to prevent whatever was happening there from spreading. Like, someone saving a person, they take that person, then reset that small area which resets the memories of everyone who isn't in the area. Probably why Morbius told the french girl to go outside. "Variants" are simply other versions of the character. They don't have to be the same, as shown in a monitor, but they seem to have the same name / role. I guess its a bit of a "fatalistic" view on time, which IRL is nonsense, but fits since you can view this as "writers" telling various stories. Like how there are different versions of the same character across Marvel comics. Like "Age of Apocalypse Wolverine and the X-Men, Uncanny Xmen, and so on. This is how they explain that. It could be viewed that those alternative stories were the ones "waging war" and now are stopped with just this one (that's not stated just my idea to tie in all marvel properties into the "Multiverse") Variants, again, are any version of a character that ISN'T part of the sacred timeline, so as soon as Loki didn't follow the path that he was written (ordained, fated, etc.) he became a "Variant" To my knowledge no character will ever be removed if there isn't an "original" still there. Although, "Original" is subjective. I.e. they don't remove a person completely, only someone who isn't the correct "version" of the person. So Loki continued to exist until he met his end. They have all the infinity stones because I guess they are involved in a lot of events, so they are just duplicates on duplicates. like how Loki is both the person we see but also the enemy, so there can be duplicates of people and things. FYI, none of this is spoilers for this season or next. It is just what was described in this first episode by the clock. As you've seen Deadpool and Wolverine, this is that same organization, but that movie technically takes place after this and next season, although its not really noticeable.
Time Travel is a big pet peeve of mine, since it just doesn't work in a story, but Loki focuses on character growth and interactions enough that it isn't a big deal. I just don't suggest thinking too much on "what can and can't they do with their time travel" or how. Endgame barely touched on it and even it screwed up its own internal consistency. I'll simply say "Time" in the TVA flows normally, so they can't go back to an earlier point in the TVA and can't go forward and so on (don't anyone say anything). But it appears they can go to any point in history. BUT, it seems they won't run into themselves doing something. While they can meet other TVA people, its not like they can find a version of themselves working and also join in. I.e. no Loki going back, helping himself, then going back again and so on so there are 3 of that same Loki there to do something. I don't believe there is a stated mechanic for this, they just don't bring it up or do it. Simply put, if something happens in the TVA, that's not something you can reverse. Similarly, if the TVA are involved in doing / changing something, that can't be undone either. i.e. if the TVA "reset" or "Prune" a person at any place, they can't go back and stop them from doing it after they've done it.
That scene of him watching his own future is one of my favourite scenes in whole of the MCU. Wonderful acting by Tom.

I love the theme for this show and it's become one of my all time favourites.
✌️😉💕
I just rewatched both seasons, this is one of my favorite series!
This takes the Marvel universe to the next level, Loki is one of those wild series. I think you will fall in love with this. Also Owen Wilson aka Mobius entered the room. Those 2 have such incredible chemistry. Tom and Owen.
Finally getting to one of the best mcu shows loki ❤ he's always been one of my favorite characters. Tom hiddleston was perfect for the role
So pruning is basically "Ol Yellering a universe," as Deadpool would put it after a variance has occured. The variant who causes it is arrested and the timeline is erased. So basically an entire universe copy -1 person gets erased with every prune.
FINALLY.
If an event is big enough to create an alternate timeline the TVA steps in and “prunes” it by eradicating it from existence completely leaving only the “Sacred Timeline.” This series is amazing and I can’t wait for you to get to the real meat and potatoes of it!
The one good thing about this show is that by the end, all the questions you have, will get answers. The show actually makes a lot of sense.
And the end of season 2 for me is one of the MCU peaks for me story and characterwise, Loki is such a brilliant character and Hiddleston plays him so well.
That scene that has the guy in the place with that thing, love it 😂
How few people know DB Cooper
Man i forgot how great this show is! I might have to reup my Disney subscription just to watch the whole thing again.
one of my favourite shows
He was DB Cooper in that plane scene - famous guy that disappeared.
The good news is this show will actually answer all those questions. It's genuinely really good.
"Do a lot of people not know they're robots?"
*Stares in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*
I love Loki’s season and his tricks.❤
I'm happy you're finally starting this series 😊 can't wait for s2
Considering he starts out as Loki from the first Avengers movie, it's pretty amazing where he ends up. Especially after season 2.
So exciting that you've made it to the Loki show. You're in for a treat. One of the best shows in the mcu. Only thing better I think is season 2. Enjoy!
The rollercoaster just started to toll their wheels 😎
OHHH! I loved this series, and I really hope you enjoy it, Jax
This freaking love this series
"Is this a sad story?"
It's Loki. You'll see his life is a sad story. ☹️🙂
Hello Jax!😊 Great to see you starting to react to this well made TV series!😉 Loki is s very popular character in the MCU. Great reactions to your very first episode, Jax!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a teaser, watching WV on your own.. good for you.
Loki is a great character, and this is one of the best overall MCU shows, especially the second season ❤
7:46 "WOW" 😂
15:36 Think about it this way. How could someone do something so catastrophic that it derails the entire timeline of their universe?
"Oh, he's got an infinity stone. Yeah, that makes sense now."
The only reason this Loki managed to affect the timeline enough to become a variant was by touching the tesseract and disappearing, which is an infinity stone itself.
Finally been wait this for you to react to this movie ❤❤❤❤
Let’s Go!!! One of the best MCU shows. Both seasons are amazing!
Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston were wonderful together in the very charming Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris, which has an all around excellent cast.
really enjoyed your reaction 👍☺
At the start , when Loki was bought for judgement , you will see Peggy Carter also behind him arrested .
18:54 Think of each alternate reality as a branch coming off the sacred timeline. In order to keep the timeline going as dictated by the Timekeepers, the branches need to be pruned like the branches of a tree or bush to keep the overall timeline 'healthy.'
1:30 NO! ALL STAIRS FAULT
I cant wait to see your daredevil born again reactions. Would you ever do a video talking about what you thought of the old show since you've seen it?
I am confused...you watched Deadpool and Wolverine, how are you confused by the pruning wands? Unless you uploaded this out of order of watching?
Apparently the loki reactions have been out on patreon for a while but she's just now posting them on youtube which is why she knew about the pruning and the TVA when reacting to Deadpool vs Wolverine
Reactor release schedules are so interesting. There's the Patreon release, the much delayed YT release, and the stuff that gets rushed to YT because it's hot right now ( like when everyone put up their Deadpool 3 videos in the same week)
Probably released D&W because it would get more clicks now than later
This is the main theme of MCU moving forword. Loki is main MCU focus from now on.
Love it! can't wait for the rest
But it would create a 'variant' of the stone (the one Bruce took) and this would create another stone.
your gonna love this series that's all I can say
Loki is far and away my favorite Norse god, and although Marvel Loki is pretty damn tame compared to the original mythos i still have always loved him
this series only deepened that love
it also spawned an absolutely INCREDIBLE trend on Tiktok of people dressing as TVA members and going to differing random events across all of fiction and pruning them if something was out of place. they got SUPER creative with hiding themselves in plain sight and using the music of the show to make seemingly normal situations seem super ominous if you didnt know what was happening.
one of the few Tiktok trends that i was actually super sad to see go, it was awesome
IMO Loki is the best MCU show period. You are in for a wild ride, sit back relax and enjoy 😂🙌🏼
Omg This is the best marvel Disney+ show
Loki HYPE. You'll have to keep watching to get some answers
Multiple Universes = Multiverse, so you will see there is multiple variants of the same characters in separate earths for example, so they usually come with a numerical designation like earth-112 , earth-344. etc. Earth-616 is the "sacred timeline"
Both seasons of this show are amazing. Is there a third one yet? I disengaged with Disney but I'd come back for another season...
AHHHH I'm so excited! This show is definitely top 3 from Marvel for me. SO GOOD! Gotta watch both seasons!
My favorite MCU show.
I'm sure she's ahead but here is how the whole thing works (no spoilers)
It is a "single Timeline" basically you can consider it the MCU timeline.
(Don't talk to me about Rogers not returning and apparently staying and living with Peggy, I never liked that since it seemed to break their very own rules)
The "Resetting" looks similar to when they poked the person with the stick, so they do that to an area, I think, not the whole universe, to prevent whatever was happening there from spreading.
It could be viewed that those alternative stories were the ones "waging war" and now are stopped with just this one (that's not stated just my idea to tie in all marvel properties into the "Multiverse")
Variants, again, are any version of a character that ISN'T part of the sacred timeline, so as soon as Loki didn't follow the path that he was written (ordained, fated, etc.) he became a "Variant" To my knowledge no character will ever be removed if there isn't an "original" still there.
