Don Blake would strike the ground with his walking stick, and instantly was replaced by Thor. Additionally if he let the hammer go for more than 60 seconds, he would turn back into Blake.
I recall in an interview once where they said that the scene with him smashing the coffee cup on the ground was unplanned and he did it on the spur of a moment. So all of their reactions were real, because he didn't tell anybody he was going to do it.
I am 99% certain that Kat Denning saw 'Mjolnir' in the script and didn't have a clue on how to pronounce it. So she just waited until Thor says it, and then just ad-lib'd in "Meow Meow" in the moment. And they kept it in the movie. I think it's awesome that you pronounce it that way!
@@reactswithjax It's not that hard, really. Think "myole-near". Like "mole near", but with a 'y' after the 'm'. That gets you pretty close, probably close enough. If you want to be even more accurate, the 'o' is really more like "eur", with one of those weird French vowel sounds, like in the word "milieu". And the "near" part is shortened slightly, more like "nir". "Mjolnir", with two dots over the 'o'. The 'j' is pronounced like a 'y'. As in "jotun" - frost giant. Or Johann. Or hallelujah.
Loki doesn’t care about the frost giants they were a tool to get him what he wanted even after he knew the truth about himself…he’s “of Asgard” through and through and cares about his family but will also do them harm to get what he wants lol.
Mjölnir, or Mjolnir, would be pronounced ˈmjɔːlnɪər or Myaul-near. Eric's pronunciation is probably the most accurate as Stellan Skarsgård is Swedish. Darcy continues to pronounce it as Mew Mew or Meow Meow. I remember plenty of books as a child that retold the stories of the Æsir of Asgard.
@@Caseytify I can understand that, my understanding is the ö in Mjölnir is pronounced with an "au" sound as in "caught" or "maul" as opposed to an "o" sound, that's why I went with "myaul".
The first tip to pronouncing Mjölnir is to remember this word is Scandinavian. When a J follows a consonant, you pronounce it as a Y. Think of the Icelandic singer Bjork.
Your journey through the MCU has been one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen! You genuinely seem to be enjoying these movies and have picked up on every little detail and have a grasp on the broader story being told. I’m seriously impressed and I can’t wait for you to see more!
Thank you! This has been such a delightful journey so far. I never thought I'd love these movies as much as I do. I've become such a fan of the MCU. I can't wait to see what is going to unfold in phase 2! ❤️
I concur. Yes. (Big Nonsense: This one is made for reactions. Hahaha. Evil: Yes. True: I think YES. (That creepy part is trying to emulate what Jax would have said...))
No, she was correct when she said it was Mr. Blue. SHIELD never took Banner into custody, nor did they show up in the Hulk movie. It was a tie-in comic where SHIELD shows up after the fact and takes Mr. Blue (aka the Leader) into custody.
My thoughts on "worthy". It's not simply valor, or humility, or kindness, or purity of intent. If it was that simple, Cap would have been able to lift the hammer on his first try. Worthiness, in the context of Odin's geas, means all of the above plus the wisdom of a king. A king puts their people first, always. If it comes down to a contest between ego and the good of their people, the true king always sets aside their ego. Steve Rogers showed that wisdom when he pretended to be a Hydra agent in Endgame. He could have KO'd the entire lift full of men and taken the Stone, but he swallowed his pride, put his ego aside, and smiled at people who were his enemies, pretending to be the thing he hated most for the good of the world. That's why, next time he tried, Mjolnir found him worthy. Vision, the other 'worthy' Avenger, is a sentient able to set aside their ego for what they calculate to be the common good. That's why he was able to lift the hammer moments after being 'born'. I'm curious if, after experiencing love and life for awhile, and developing a stronger sense of self he would still be able to lift Mjolnir.
Hi Jax, first time watching your video. I love your reaction, facial, and body expression and funny commentary. BTW, you are a beauty and have a beautiful smile 😍
Fantastic reaction as always! It's so fun that you're catching all the little crossovers and details and waiting for future payoffs. They're coming... Can't wait for you to see where this all goes and really looking forward to the Avengers which I think you're going to love.
I can't wait to see where this story is heading! It has been so fun seeing how all the movies play into one another. And I'm SO excited to share The Avengers reaction with you!
There was a scene cut from the movie where Loki and his mother were talking, and she tells him to take his fathers place as king while he slept. He was hesitant, but did as she asked. They cut it to make him appear as more of an antagonist.
8:00 "I'm cold just looking at them..." lucky you have a 30 gallon drum of Disney tea to stay warm! 14:06 "Lamby would be worthy" Pretty sure Lamby has the heart of a serial killer - just look at those cold, dead eyes. We all saw the way Lamby was grinning when Loki was talking about murdering Odin!
Honestly I find this movie to be criminally underrated in the MCU. It's so great from the world building and I love Thor's arc of being a selfish prince getting exiled to the middle of nowhere. And at the end he decides to make the personal sacrifice realizing that he could never see Jane again but knowing this is what he has to do. It's a shame the other Thor movies were never able to build upon this first one but I absolutely love this movie. It's not my favorite in the MCU but it's a little gem I wish got more love.
As it was when this movie came out and for all of eternity, the mighty hammer shall be known as "Meow-Meow". Another great reaction, I cant wait to see your reaction as the whole MCU unfolds.
Watching your reactions are refreshing. Nice to see someone who’s actually paying attention. And it’s really cute how with every new hero and every new couple you claim to have a new favorite. ☺️
I never thought I'd watch Shakespeare in comic book clothing. Then i saw this. As a 35 + year comic book nerd, this is one character I thought would be very difficult to do well. They knocked it out of the park. Brilliant.
Lol love watching the Marvel Universe with you .This is a rewatch for me because I have seen every movie .Lol it's fun to watch you figure our how it all ties together looking forward to your reactions of the Avengers!!
I'm so glad you are enjoying the reactions! It's been fun discovering how all these movies tie into one another. I'm so excited to share The Avengers with you!! ❤️
Your reactions are my favorite. You have a certain joy and charm that is wonderful. Experiencing these movies with you is an absolute pleasure. It is painful waiting for the next one to come, but worth it for sure. I look forward to continuing this journey with you!
Thor is my mom’s fave Avenger. I showed her this reaction video and she’s obsessed with Lamby. Where did you get it? She recently had a stroke and I’m trying to find stuff to help her cheer up. Loki is one of the best written characters in the MCU. He’s more complex than Obidah from Iron Man. To see the MCU movies for the first time again would be great.
Hi! I'm so sorry that your mom had a stroke. What a scary thing to go through. How wonderful that she loves Lamby. I got him in Ireland a while back. But, I've seen similar looking lamb stuffed animals online. ❤️
Thor’s hammer is pronounced (Me-Yoll-Near). The Red Skull said “the Tesseract was once the jewel of Odin’s treasure room.” Great reactions today. I think you’ll like the Avengers movie. Looking forward to that video.
Yeah, but I think the mouth to mouth part was what she had in mind. Dukes of Hazzard, mystery woman passed out. Bo: We should give her mouth to mouth recreation. Luke: You mesn resuscitation. Bo: You're probably right, but my version sounds like more fun.
The blue boxy thing is "The Casket of Ancient Winters" in the comics. It was broken open in 1983 or so and plunged the entire world into a horrifically deep winter. Most of the heroes in the Marvel Universe had to cooperate to find the pieces and reassemble it, and to fight off the strengthened Frost Giants who took advantage of the situation. IIRC, it was Spider-Man and the Human Torch (from the Fantastic Four) who eventually got it reassembled and closed. It is very cold to the touch, which is probably part of the reason it briefly turned Loki blue in this film.
@@THEREALSCRAPPY Yes, in this film. But I don't recall him ever coming into contact with it in print continuity. All three of the Thor films borrow heavily from the Walt Simonsen writing/art era of about 40 years ago, but the MCU scriptwriters throw enough change-ups to keep even us olden-time fanbois guessing. In the comics, it was accidentally broken open when the Dark Elf king Malekith (cf: Thor, The Dark World) was fooling around with it. The Asgardians didn't ever have it in their possession. IIRC.
If you recall Red Skull referenced the tesseract as a jewel of Odin's treasure room. The Tesseract is a source of great power not just the power of the Gods. Also when Red Skull held it he didn't really "die" . . . it appeared to generate something very similar to the Bifrost . . . . . Oh boy I can't wait for you to move through this saga! I absolutely love your authentic glee in experiencing these stories!
Oh! I was wondering about that since the Red Skull disappeared but didn't necessarily die...I can't wait to continue down this rabbit hole. The story keeps getting more interesting!
Tønsberg, Norway featured in several movies in the MCU. It was where Odin and the Asgard warriors defeated the Frost Giants. It was where Johann Schmidt, a.k.a. Red Skull, found the Tesseract at the beginning of Captain America: The First Avenger. It’s where Odin goes to join Frigga in Valhalla in Thor: Ragnarök. It’s where New Asgard exists in Avengers: Endgame.
"Destroy everything? Even Disneyland?" Haha, I laughed at that. Cause yeah, that would be horrible. Fellow Magic Key holder here :) I love that place!!
Watching you watch these MCU movies takes me back to when we all watched them first. I also have to thank you for saying the correct (IMO) pronouncing of Thor's hammer. For over 30 years, this is how I pronounced its name in my head when I read it from the comics!!❤❤❤😂😂
This was the movie you were supposed to see BEFORE Captain America! Also I wish Kat Dennings aka Darcy would come onto SNL! I know she would make a real funny addition to it for sure.
Two possibly interesting facts: 1. In historical Norse mythology. Loki is actually Odin's "blood brother" - they ritually cut themselves and mingle their blood, so they are considered related, even though they aren't really. Sif is actually Thor's wife, and has golden hair, not black - it's literally made of gold. Heimdall does not have the power to see everything, but Odin does, when he sits on his "All-Seeing Throne". The "Warriors Three" those three sidekicks of Thor's, were made up for the comic book, and don't actually exist in historical mythology. They are loosely based on characters from Shakespeare's Henry V. Loki, like many of the frost giants ("jotuns"), has powers of illusion. There are many other Norse gods that are included in the Thor comic books, but not in the movies (at least so far). 2. The tesseract was originally called the "cosmic cube" in the comic books, but "tesseract" is a much cooler name. And it actually means something - it's not just a made-up word. A tesseract is the four-dimensional analog of a cube. Going up in dimensions: a square is two-dimensional, a cube is three-dimensional, and a tesseract is four-dimensional. Five and higher dimensional cubes don't have their own special names, and are just called hypercubes. A tesseract can be called a "four-dimensional hypercube", or it can be shortened to "four-cube".
Wow! That's awesome backstory! Thank you for sharing that. The Shakespearian influence really shined through in the way the Asgardians spoke. That's so cool that the Tesseract actually means something. I can't wait to see what it actually is!
Ohhh don’t forget the RedSkull also referred to the Tesseract as “the jewel of Orin’s Treasure room.” We saw the treasure room in this movie. So the question is “how did it get to earth?” Don’t be harsh on yourself. I always recommend watching Captain America 1 first when watching the movies. Then in release order the first time. As it helps you understand how Tony is the way he is, why the Tesseract in the end credit scene is so important, and you know how it got in the hands of Shield. Sorry. I think I commented thst on another video. Haha.
I hope she does the pre-Disney+ shows as well (Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, Helstrom, Cloak & Dagger, Inhumans, Runaways, Defenders, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Punisher).
Fun fact: Prior to Thor, Chris Hemsworth appeared at the beginning of Star Trek(2009) as George Kirk, father of Captain James T. Kirk(Chris Pine). Fun fact#2:Kat Dennings and Brie Larson played Bob Saget's daughters in the short lived sitcom Raising Dad on The WB in the early 2000's.
One thing about marvel that you’ve picked up on is through your questions. Specifically the gods and which do they include. It leaves you wondering and interesting to learn more. What do the power of the gods include? We saw what red skull used it for, but what other powers does it have also draws interest to look forward to watching. Great observations and I look forward to you remembering the questions for later movies. No spoilers (hopefully), just excited.
The argument "Vain, Cruel Boy" between Thors and Odin was unscripted by Sir Anthony...Chris just went with it. Thor is around 5000 years old at this point.
Marvel did a 4 minute short that takes place immediately after Thor's hammer landing on earth. It is called "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer". I highly recommend you watch it (before "Avengers", if that's still possible). It will give you a little bit on the type of person Agent Coulson is. Oh, and I like when you pronounce it "meow-meow". It's cute.
If you watch the end credits during the zooming through space, you can actually see the Yggdrasil tree. The camera zooms out then zooms in and ascend it from the roots to the highest branches.
28:31 -- RE: "His Little Smile"; A: No Joke, but I think this is one of the best depictions of "drinking buddies" since Wolfgang Petersen's "Das Boot". Drunk Doctor's Little Smile sells the moment.
Just discovered your channel and I've just been loving all of your reactions! Making me want to do a rewatch of the MCU! If you want more Kenneth Brannagh, I highly reccommend his adaptations of Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile! He stars in and directs both of those and he does a great job with them!
A lot of people get surprised when they see that Loki kills his biological father. It actually makes a lot of sense when you consider a few things. First, you have to understand that Loki was written as a textbook sociopath. The writers did a really good job of writing him that way, it's very believable. Sociopaths are extremely insecure but they project that through apparent strength that usually comes through as bullying or domination. Now, add to that that Loki grew up being taught to have a racism against the Frost Giants. He views them as being a much lesser race than the Asgardians because that's how he was raised. Add to both of those things that he could always tell the man that he called Dad always seemed to favor his brother and he never understood the extent of why. He probably thought that he worked twice as hard as Thor and was twice as qualified to be king. Once he found out that he was actually a Frost Giant adopted as a baby, all of these factors together caused him to loathe himself and he wanted to prove not only to Odin but even more so to himself that he was worthy of being Asguardian and King. He had no new love or loyalty to his biological father, he just became desperate to prove that he was better.
7:21 "Thor is reminding me a little bit of Tony Stark. At the top of his game. Thinks a little too highly of himself. Maybe he has good reason to think highly of himself, but this'll be a fun journey watching him evolve." Oh honey. Just wait until you get to Doctor Strange. Also just to answer a quick question you had, Thor and Loki are 1,500 years old. Odin is 5,000 years old. Lastly, I just wanna say that I am absolutely ecstatic about how much you're paying close attention to the big picture and trying to link everything together from previous movies. All the talking points you mentioned after the post-credits scene about the origins of the Tesseract to Red Skull trying to use it to harness the power of the gods to Howard Stark eventually finding it and being a founding member of SHIELD are the exact type of things you wanna keep in mind while going down this MCU journey. And remember that you're only just starting! There's still over ten more years of the MCU that you haven't even seen yet! It's a hell of a fun ride!
15:49 Donald was Thor’s alter ego in the comics and there’s a tv movie (“Incredible Hulk Returns” with Bill Bixby) where Donald Blake finds Thor’s hammer and can summon Thor to earth with it. In this movie Thor can’t enter Valhalla until he shows he’s worthy to be there. 17:32 well it fell from the sky so it could be a secret satellite 18:06 something like myol-neer (the “y” is an “e” sound instead of “I”). 19:35 yes he was talking about Bruce.
7:05 Actually, some do (not in the way you might assume). The samurai, for example, will embrace the inevitability of death as a way to banish any fear-- because _Fear is actually Hope placed in conflict with the danger of the situation._ A man who is truly without fear is a man who has given up their hope-- which is something to be pitied rather than aspired.
You’re not wrong the food in these movies looks so good. 🥘 🍱 🍲 🥧 🧁 🍰 🍺 🍻 🍷 🍗 🌮 🍕 A lot of people didn’t like this movie but I loved it. In the comics, Tony makes a suit of armor using the Destroyer armor. It was cool.
During the hammer scene, besides Stan Lee, there was J. Michael Stryzinski also. He wrote for Thor, Spider-man, Doctor Strange, and a pre-Captain America story. In addition, he was one of the writers for this movie, Thor. He is also the creator and series mastermind of Babylon 5.
After seeing your great Disney mug, I am only just now noticing all of the wonderful Disney items in your surroundings. The "Home" pillow, and your subtly Belle-inspired getup. Now I'm even more of a fan.
Awesome reaction! Still one of the strongest Marvel Movies to this day. Especially from the Thor franchise its been a real hit and miss afterwards. My personal favorite is still the third Ragnarok.
44:40 -- RE: Saying the Name of the Hammer; Fun Fact! English shares a heck of a lot of common ancestry with languages other than Latin or Gaelic, including Norse and Germanic ones. That's why we have at least half of the days of our week referencing Norse gods: Thorsday, Frigsday, and Wednesday AKA Odin's Day.The O sound in Odin has become identified with the letter W to make clear how to pronounce it. O cognate with Owe. So, here's some basic tips for knowing what to do when you read letters that have inflections like an umlaut (double dot) on them. The ö sound means more like look than Loki. The J is half silent, a Y sound as with Fjord, or Bjorn. So It's Mjool-nir, and the Nir part doesn't require you show your teeth when you make the I sound.
Since you're so easily distracted by food (the pie did look tasty) and also a fan of romantic fantasy like "Once Upon a Time" I *highly* recommend checking out the brilliant but short-lived (only two seasons) series "Pushing Daises". It's hilarious- I think you'll get a real kick out of that show! FYI it's a spin-off of the series "Dead Like Me", which is more of a dark comedy. Both are excellent, so I suggest adding them to your list of things to react to- or your polls where Patreon peeps can vote for things to watch ;)
@@grumpy_older_man the spinoff status is unofficial, but I read PD was originally pitched as an episode of DLM... There was going to be an episode where the Reapers couldn't do their jobs because Ned had shown up and done his thing.

I loved how you pointed out that Cap and Thor had 2 opposite trajectories. I never thought of that before. The Marvel comics are actually filled with many different mythologies but I don't think you see a glimpse of that in the MCU until a Marvel movie from 2022

My favorite cartoon movie was Valhalla. Can't wait to watch all your reactions of Thor movies. My favorite quotes from you on your reactions "He's got some game, flirting with the smart girl by giving her a book." lol. "That pie looked so good." Thanks for the Thor reaction. ME-YOL-NEAR. Just say that fast and there you have it, Mjolnir.
Thor: Let's move. Jax: As opposed to what, standing here forever? You have some skill with the snark, milady. A couple of trivia tidbits: the first person to try to lift the Hammer after it landed in New Mexico was J. Michael Straczynski, who wrote the screenplay as well as developed a popular sci fi show in the '90s called Babylon 5. And when Jeremy Renner was in his perch, he had his thumb up behind his ear while he pulled the bowstring; he was feeling for his pulse. Archers really do that, as their heartbeat can throw off their aim if they don't pay attention to it.
You are a very entertaining person to watch. I'm new to your channel, but the references you come up with surprise me sometimes. Also, I enjoy the inserted references (whether that's also you, or you have an editor). You seem like a very sweet lady as well, and obviously pretty damned cute. Another lovely video! It's great to see that you're brave enough to be making predictions -- and a joy to see when you're proven right. Congratulations on figuring out that the Tesseract was in Fury's case. Even having watched "Captain America" first, that wasn't necessarily an easy guess to make. And you're right that outer space and other worlds are going to play a BIG part in the MCU moving forward. But the Nine Realms aren't the totality of space; they don't even include all inhabited worlds. Those are just the planets that are under Odin's protectorate. More will be revealed before long! Since others have explained about Mjolnir, I'll offer a few notes about the Bifrost. Ancient Norse people seemed to believe that the rainbow was a bridge between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard (the gods' realm). That's why it's so beautifully coloured in the movie -- as Thor said, it's the Rainbow Bridge. Also, Jane identifies it with an Einstein-Rosen bridge, which is a kind of wormhole -- theoretically a gateway allowing swift travel between distant points in space.
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the reaction! I was SO excited when I predicted the Tesseract was in Fury's case. I take it as a sign that I am finally starting to understand the MCU. That makes so much sense that the 9 realms are what Thor knows of, but that there is more to it than that. I can't wait to see more of this universe. I love that the Rainbow Bridge has roots in Norse mythology! Thanks for sharing that! ❤️
Many fans try to theorize what exactly makes the hammer seem heavy or is it heavy at all. Some scientific way to interpret is the hammer has some kind of ability to manipulate gravitational forces so the non worthy subject trying to lift make the hammer increase the opposing force to counteract the lifting.
You really need to watch movies with subtitles. Names or complex words can sometimes be confusing to spell if you don't know the exact wording of it ... or sometimes you may misheard a word. 😂 And no, it wasn't the Tesseract. The Tesseract is smaller and way more cube form like you saw in the end credits. No again... non of them are immortal and can be killed anytime of the day. They do live 1000s and 1000s of years thought. In the second Thor movie they did specify how much they live as compared to humans. No part 3:- Loki just fell into deep space and get lost ect... logically this is what would happen if you fell. But the end credit shows he is on earth which means he faked his death and then uses the other way to get in and out of Asgard.
Not sure if you will see this @reactswithjax , but to answer your question an Einstein Rosen bridge is the scientific technical name for what is more commonly known in scifi and pop culture as a wormhole.
There's more than just nine realms. The nine realms Thor speaks of are interconnected realms that he can access through the bifrost bridge. The tree under the bifrost bridge called Yggdrasil is what connects the realms with each other. There's a much larger universe beyond the nine realms which you'll discover in the guardians of the galaxy movies and captain marvel.
This movie was amazing and interesting to watch and people thought that film was going to fail but the story was good and entertaining to see. Thanks for your reaction 😊

Agreed!
I enjoy your reactions to these films, and love the musicality of your speaking voice. Just a compliment, not a come-on. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like my reactions ❤️
I concur. Yes. (Big Nonsense: This one is made for reactions. Hahaha. Evil: Yes. True: I think YES. (That creepy part is trying to emulate what Jax would have said...))
Yes, the scientist (expert in gamma radiation) mentioned by Dr Selvig was indeed a reference to Bruce Banner. Nice catch, Jax!
Woohoo!!!! It is SO fun hearing their references to other movies!
No, she was correct when she said it was Mr. Blue. SHIELD never took Banner into custody, nor did they show up in the Hulk movie. It was a tie-in comic where SHIELD shows up after the fact and takes Mr. Blue (aka the Leader) into custody.
heimdall is literally one of the best characters in the MCU, but he is very underused in the MCU but is such a great character.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I love Coulson puts some snark Tony Stark's way, and that Thor observes Nordic tradition calling him "son of Coul"
Oh my gosh, I just got that reference! Haha! 😂 Son of Coul! How did I miss that?!
Ive seen all your vids but this is by far the best simply for the Michael scott edit
Haha! Michael Scott is the best!
Interesting!!
Haha! I'm dying 😂 It really is a massive cup of tea! And Lamby is a saint! lol
I agree. Very underrated
I loved the way you compared Thor's growth to Steve's growth. Such a cool analysis.
As it was when this movie came out and for all of eternity, the mighty hammer shall be known as "Meow-Meow". Another great reaction, I cant wait to see your reaction as the whole MCU unfolds.
Hahaha! That works for me! I can't wait to see where this story is going either.
I love Coulson and how he ties Phase 1 together!
One major idea that the MCU never really addressed is the effect on the human race with the knowledge that they are not alone in the universe.
Watching your reactions are refreshing. Nice to see someone who’s actually paying attention. And it’s really cute how with every new hero and every new couple you claim to have a new favorite. ☺️
Haha! My favorite couple changes with every movie 😂 because every movie is so good!!!
@@reactswithjax Yes it is, and you haven’t even gotten to the “good ones” yet!😊
Hi from Sheffield YorkshireEngland when i first started watching your content i saw you and not just looks but your smile and sence of humour
The most powerful scenes in the movie have Odin and Loki in them.
1) Banishment
2) Loki learning he is frost giant
3) The bridge
Loki specifically.
@@radicalreactions1633 No I said Odin and Loki.
I never thought I'd watch Shakespeare in comic book clothing. Then i saw this. As a 35 + year comic book nerd, this is one character I thought would be very difficult to do well. They knocked it out of the park. Brilliant.
This movie was phenomenal. It was funny hearing Thor speak so eloquently. And, like you said, they made it work!
Get a Shakespearian director like Kenneth Brannagh to do it.
Thank you so much! That's so kind of you to say! I can't wait to share The Avengers with you ❤️🎉 Marvel has been one wild ride so far!
The Red Skull said “the Tesseract was once the jewel of Odin’s treasure room.”
Great reactions today. I think you’ll like the Avengers movie. Looking forward to that video.
I missed that the Red Skull said that! Thank you!
You hammered this reaction 🔨
Thank you! 😂
I Definetly appreciated the doctor Mike “chest compressions” reference
Haha! I love his channel!
Didn't Loki turn blue briefly because of him being unaffected by the Frost Giants' cold touch, due to his heritage?
@@THEREALSCRAPPY Yes, in this film. But I don't recall him ever coming into contact with it in print continuity. All three of the Thor films borrow heavily from the Walt Simonsen writing/art era of about 40 years ago, but the MCU scriptwriters throw enough change-ups to keep even us olden-time fanbois guessing.
In the comics, it was accidentally broken open when the Dark Elf king Malekith (cf: Thor, The Dark World) was fooling around with it. The Asgardians didn't ever have it in their possession. IIRC.
31:26 PRINCE CHARMING! I was the same way...i loved once upon a time series!❤❤❤
Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif was an awesome performance! She needs her own show! In the Thor comics, Lady Sif is a supreme badass warrior!
Interviewer:- What is the name of Thor's Hammer??
Paul Rudd :- Jonathan
This was the movie you were supposed to see BEFORE Captain America! Also I wish Kat Dennings aka Darcy would come onto SNL! I know she would make a real funny addition to it for sure.
Two possibly interesting facts:
@@reactswithjax the director Kenneth Branagh directed and acted in multiple Shakespearean Plays adapted for film.
Ohhh don’t forget the RedSkull also referred to the Tesseract as “the jewel of Orin’s Treasure room.”
We saw the treasure room in this movie. So the question is “how did it get to earth?”
Don’t be harsh on yourself.

This movie depicts Perfectly what each soul on Earth is going through and why we are here.
That scene was incredible! It's amazing that it was unscripted ❤️
@7:45 Thor: “Let’s move.”
Jax: “As opposed to what? Standing there forever?” 🤣
Jax has some of the funniest comments.
there is a theory that Loki is actually Odin's son but with Laufee's wife and that was the true reason for the war and why Odin took and raised Loki.
It's cute.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll check that out! ❤️

Maybe he has good reason to think highly of himself, but this'll be a fun journey watching him evolve."
Oh honey.
The samurai, for example, will embrace the inevitability of death as a way to banish any fear-- because _Fear is actually Hope placed in conflict with the danger of the situation._
A man who is truly without fear is a man who has given up their hope-- which is something to be pitied rather than aspired.

A lot of people didn’t like this movie but I loved it.
That's awesome!! Thanks so much for pointing him out ❤️

@33:14 “Killer robot from space destroyed business” has a better B-movie-type ring to it.
Their lifespan is about 5,000 years, I think. Thor is 1,500 years old.

So It's Mjool-nir, and the Nir part doesn't require you show your teeth when you make the I sound.
the hammer is called Johnathan
Since you're so easily distracted by food (the pie did look tasty) and also a fan of romantic fantasy like "Once Upon a Time" I *highly* recommend checking out the brilliant but short-lived (only two seasons) series "Pushing Daises". It's hilarious- I think you'll get a real kick out of that show! FYI it's a spin-off of the series "Dead Like Me", which is more of a dark comedy. Both are excellent, so I suggest adding them to your list of things to react to- or your polls where Patreon peeps can vote for things to watch ;)
Loved both of those shows, especially Pushing Daisies - I never knew PD was a spin off!
I have both sets on DVD on my bookshelf. Loved watching them, but never made the connection between them.
@@grumpy_older_man the spinoff status is unofficial, but I read PD was originally pitched as an episode of DLM... There was going to be an episode where the Reapers couldn't do their jobs because Ned had shown up and done his thing.
I never knew those two shows were connected! I've actually seen both and they were so good! There's a restaurant near where I live called The Pie Hole, just like Ned's in PD, and it's delicious.
I loved how you pointed out that Cap and Thor had 2 opposite trajectories. I never thought of that before. The Marvel comics are actually filled with many different mythologies but I don't think you see a glimpse of that in the MCU until a Marvel movie from 2022

oh hi we've missed your marvel reactions glad they are back

Many fans try to theorize what exactly makes the hammer seem heavy or is it heavy at all. Some scientific way to interpret is the hammer has some kind of ability to manipulate gravitational forces so the non worthy subject trying to lift make the hammer increase the opposing force to counteract the lifting.
You really need to watch movies with subtitles.
Names or complex words can sometimes be confusing to spell if you don't know the exact wording of it ... or sometimes you may misheard a word. 😂
And no, it wasn't the Tesseract.
Thank you!! ❤️
