Finally, the biggest villain on the MCU: France
Hey, at least they didn’t die after one movie. We might see them again in the future.
I should know I live there😂
Cool thing. Unlike Wakanda, France had it's borders open and now is in flames thanks to "multiculturalism"...
Naw, all Europeans
@@JMan027 France and Belgium have a special place in African history and current affairs. Not in a positive way. There was a reason France was singled out in this movie.
One of the greatest speech's of all time
,,We mourn the loss of our king. But do not think for a second that Wakanda has lost her ability to protect our resources"
Did Wakanda's ancestors do anything to stop Africans kidnapping and selling other Africans to white colonial powers? No? Well, did they take part in the slave trade themselves?
Also, how much did Wakanda do to stop corruption, exploitation, genocide, child prostitution, and other atrocities in neighbouring African countries?
I know they're fictional, but Wakanda is an isolationist ethno-state that has no democracy, but instead chooses it's leaders via trial-by-combat, while also keeping up a 'noble savage' mystique which African-American audiences would normally find grotesque, but for some reason celebrate in this movie. It's a bit odd.
''You have the ability to protect Wakanda?''
''Yes, our soldiers are trained in the ancestral ways of our peop''
''We declare war to Wakanda'
''I recommend you reconsider embarking in the slaughter of your peop-'' *(receives call)* ''What is it?'' *''MY QUEEN! WAKANDA AS BEEN LEFT IN RUIN BY AN UNKNOWN ENNEMIS!''* (Stares in disbelief at the rest of the UN) H-how..

Can we just talk about the gorgeous costume designs in this film. Gorgeous, gorgeous in every way. Black woman regality at its finest. I really wish that we could see the fashion in this film translated into our wearable fashion. From jewelry etc, make affordable versions. We need to own our female form with the sophistication and grace it deserves and leave the harsh makeup, garish and sloppy looks being peddled to us. We can do so much better. This is just some of the proof that's out there.
Happy Birthday, Angela! Love and Happiness to you and your family! Live Long Wakanda!

NGL, this is the scene that I see is why she deserved an Oscar. The scene of her in the throne room is magnificent of course, too. However, Angela's body. . .her arms, shoulders, eye movement, command of the room (a multitude of different nations). . .is why I prefer this scene most 😊.
What some don't know is when she did "What's Love Got to do with it," she worked out for 6 months to get toned and cut like Tina was. After the movie she said that she fell in love with working out and has been doing it faithfully since.
Still one of THE BEST SCENES AHH

When I look at these comments I see words that doesn't make this scene justice. Queen, Power and Oscar. Regal is what crosses my mind, her strong shoulder (1:07) carries this whole scene. Regal.
So, it's not just me! Angela is intent on her whole body being used to act. Even her shoulders. The muscles in her shoulders. . .her collar bone. Like, how she did not receive the Oscar is CRIMINAL.
Either the Academy hates Angela personally, or the Academy really loves Jamie, because. . . Angela not winning was personal! It has to be 😮!

The French and American representatives seem to be at a loss as to how to respond. I don't think they so much as guessed that she'd be able to see right through them (though I really don't know who they thought they were fooling, their greed is so obvious in this scene you can smell it through the screen).

I love that France was the aggressor and not the United States lol although as awesome as this scene is, in the real world, France would say that their government had no idea of the operation and that it was performed by a rogue team and the UN would let them off with a fine and no real sanctions
France with help if CIA
Well, in the real world, Wakanda's threat of retaliatory war would have been more than enough to get France to sit back down and the rest of the UNSC to be willing to bar any UN actions. In reality, the might of the UNSC itself would be crippled and the NATO members would have been chomping at the bit to get them on the council as another friendly face. Vibranium weapons have already been proven by this time in the MCU to be superior to ANY conventional weapon that the rest of the world uses. The sheer tech and weapon superiority would mean that the UNSC would either have to stop bickering and make a united front or capitulate. Remember, the key feature of the 5 UNSC members is that they are the nuclear powers of the globe. Wakanda went a step further and make nuclear weapons obsolete.
not much point if the entire UN has evidence of France's involvement - that would probably come with evidence proving that yes, the French government knew all about it.
In any case, even if they weren't the aggressors here, we know America had aggressive intentions here - the man here and in the later scenes kind of gave me the image of a spoiled child throwing a tantrum because he didn't get an ice-cream.

Angela Bassett Was Robbed At The Oscars!
Wait a minute, I thought King T'Challa made a statement to the United Nations in Vienna that he was going to share vibranium and any related resources with the outside world in the Post-Credit scene of the last movie.
Sharing isn't the same as stealing. You could offer to share your food with me, it doesn't mean that I can take your plate for myself and leave you hung out to dry.
@@zainnensey2552 What if I said ‘I would share my food with you’ and later on, do nothing to keep my word and go back to having it for myself. You would be tempted to ask me further questions about why I’m not sharing or might even be tempted to steal it for my dishonour. Right?
He never said they would share Vibranium. He said Wakanda would share their "knowledge and resources"!!! As the Queen stated Wakanda NEVER shares Vibranium "under any circumstances"!! They have never and will never share Vibranium its their source of power.
@@alexanderrodger8989 While that is a fair point, the sad truth is that the real world is not as optimistic as T'Challa would like to believe. Yes, he meant well by stating that he would share Wakanda's vibranium with the world, probably with the intent that the world will use them to become as prosperous as Wakanda, the reality is that politicians would only really use them to build weapons and make their nations military superpowers. Imagine all current world superpowers' militaries, now equipped with vibranium weapons; what would happen if they go to war with each other? Or even invading Wakanda to get the rest of vibraniums for themselves? This is also part of the reason why Namor wanted to keep Talokan a secret from everybody and would go to any length to keep it that way.
Sure, it's also not fair for Wakanda to keep hoarding their vibranium stockpile, but as Ramonda pointed out here, would you trust the other world nations with vibraniums if their response to you not giving it to them is to take them by force (and do so not long after Wakanda had lost its king and greatest protector and thus at its weaknest state) instead of further negotiations?
The problem is not really about Wakanda keeping its vibraniums despite T'Challa promising to share them with the world; the problem is that the pragmatism that rules the modern world politics makes it impossible to trust someone else with vibraniums and not using them in a wrong way. Ramonda is being pragmatic here against her son's wish, but then again, so do everyone else.
