One thing I liked was the use of the “vengeance will consume you” theme that we saw in Civil War. It’s interesting to see both brother and sister go through similar arcs.
The fact that killmonger is the one she sees in the afterlife was icing on the cake. It truly made the first movie come full circle, with Suri becoming a synthesis of both views
@@9989WolverineNo it's not lazy. She lost her father, her cousin (even though killmonger was evil, still family she didn't know she had) then her bother and her mother within a very small timeframe. She is in the middle of the grieving process 2 fold. Killmongers need for vengeance was a long and slow build up of resentment his entire life. Hers is sudden and powered by rage and grief.
Additional point: while Shuri decided Namor's fate the same way T'challa did M'baku's, she said that vengeance has already consumed 'us', including herself (contrary to T'challa saying that he will not let it consume him) - she is definitely walking a different path than him, yet she is still able to choose not to have that vengeance consume all of Wakanda. Extremely fascinating nuances
The opening scenes conveyed all our feelings when Chadwick passed. Shuri wasn't just trying to save the Black Panther, she conveyed the emotions as someone who was trying to cure cancer. It was stellar acting, and it certainly was a 3 box of Kleenex moment.
I got emotional when I considered how they saved TChalla in the 1st one, so as a character part of Shuri would't believe he was really dying or that she couldn't save him because they already brough him back once. So it makes sense it took her a whole year and war to let it go that he wasn't coming back and now she had lost her mother as well which is what get's me at end when Queen Ramonda appears in vision and tells her show her who we are. This is why the MCU needs to really capitalize and make Shuri one of most persevere character in MCU like what sold us on Nebula on last saga.
It’s crazy how this opening scene alone felt like an essential moment from the get-go. It really was like having to attend a family member’s funeral. There was no way around it. You had to go, you had to experience it. It’s really big to say something is essential viewing let alone in the medium of film, but that’s what this was. We had to attend for Chadwick and T’Challa.
M’Baku roaring “THE BLACK PANTHER LIIIIIIIIVES” and leading the Jabari in their war chant, followed by Shuri being on the verge of tears as the Elders bless her, crying and singing in rejoice, and gratitude for her bringing back their hero when all seemed lost. And on a meta level, showing that Black Panther WILL continue as we bid farewell to Chadwick Boseman one last time. MAN. What a moment.
I loved how respectful they were to Chadwick Boseman, paying tribute to both Chadwick and T'Challa simultaneously. Also, Angela Bassett deserves her Oscar nomination, I really hope that she wins!

SOmething I love is the callback to "Show them who you are". Ramonda yells that to T'Challa during his fight with M'Baku and both times is her calling to her children in times of need, to show their opponent that they're so much stronger than they originally thought. It was just this time, strength is putting aside your anger and showing mercy.
And both times those fights end with the other party yielding because their people need them to lead more then they need a marty willing to die needlessly.
one thing that I love about this movie is that it never feels like they were trying to profit on chadwick's death, they adressed it (it would be weird if they didn't) they showed what effect his death had in other characters, and still told their story
Exactly, they didn’t mention his death in every minute to manipulate our emotions but we can still feel T’Challa’s impacts on every single character and their character arc throughout the movie
@@Rhenzkiller if they recasted him people were gonna get angry, if they didn't recasted him people (like you) were gonna get mad, so choose your poison, also I don't think that replacing him is a very good tribute for him
I'm surprised you didn't win the fact during the scene with killmonger his white robe sweater thing he's wearing is knitted to look like all the scars he put all over his body for each person he's killed. So even while wearing the robes he was still in a way showing off how proud he was of his scars
I love the synth beats in Shuri’s Black Panther theme, especially contextually…it makes her sound almost more like a villain or anti-hero, and I LOVE IT
Another win could be when Shuri is mourning at the end and we hear the wind and the waves and then it cuts to a flashback of her brother, like her mother told her earlier that T'challah was in the sound of the wind and the ocean with them was really good throwback and show growth from Shuri because she didn't believe her.
I love how bad of a spy Ross is, they only kept him around because of his connection to wakanda. Multiple times in the movie I was like "dude someone is definitely listening to your conversation you are definitely bugged." Or "Ross you are committing treason right now and someone definitely knows about it"
Only thing I didn't like about the movie, really. There was no point in including Ross and they made him look incredibly dumb. Why not just leave him out completely? He didn't drive the story forward at all - Shuri and Okoye could've found out about Riri any number of other ways
He was never supposed to be a spy? Wasn’t he a pilot who became a suit? Why would that person be concerned with national security in a situation where he can see clearly right from wrong? That’s the idea, isn’t it, that “heroes” know when it’s okay to not follow orders?
M'baku was one of the best characters in this movie, I unironically hope he gets a bigger role in the future. Splitting the roles of Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda into 2 different people would work well with Shuri's arc in this movie, and the actor has shown he is capable.
@Edward Vincent Laybourn Waller i’m sorry to say i have not seen The Whale yet but i want to and if i do my opinion might change but i still hold out love for my queen.
As a Mexican, specifically from Cancun, I appreciate the superb use of Maya culture. My grandpa, loved the use of Maya languages. Fun fact: Namor shorts had to be digitally reduce due a long weapon he was carrying.
Angela Bassett killed it but shout out to Letitia for stepping into the lead role and bringing 100% to every scene. Imagine the pressure she was under, especially given the circumstances surrounding Chadwick's death. Amazing film.
Namor is by far one of my favorite MCU antagonists. Like Kimonger, he is charasmatic and noble, despite the terrible things he acomplishes as leader. Addditionally, his willingness to protect this civilization both acts as his greatest motivation and weakness. It's refreshing to see such a layered character that actually parallels and challenges the story's protagonist with a solution that both makes narrative sense and acts as a satisfying moment of Suri's character development.
@@omarscarborough4274 Killmonger suffered from the irrationality of rationality. All of his points made sense from one to the next, yet genocide isn't the right conclusion
The thing that struck me the most about this film, and actually made me tear up a bit is how Shuri’s struggle directly correlates to Letitia Wright’s. I can practically hear the poor girl thinking throughout the entire film “This isn’t right…..it wasn’t supposed to be this way……I was never supposed to be the Black Panther, it was always him….”. That literally applies to both the character and the person and it breaks my heart. 😢
I love that M’Baku is the only elder that Ramonda actually likes and respects. She does still pull rank on him and get onto him, but she still appreciates and respects the kindness that he and the Jabari showed her and her family when they had little to no reason to. And he stood by her family during Killmonger’s takeover when Okoye and the others initially didn’t. And when he reminds them of how they let him take over, that’s when Ramonda asks him what they should do. And later he’s the only one (with the Jabari) who don’t get skewered by Ramonda during Okoye’s firing.
Another win you could have added as riri's line of "to be young gifted and black" was also something Chadwick said on stage (can't remember where I just know know he said it) and that was another tribute to him
To Be Young, Gifted, and Black is actually a play/book about the life of Lorraine Hansberry, a famous Black author. So while Boseman may have said the phrase, it would have been in reference to that as the Riri line also likely is.
My favorite aspect of this film is how its narrative challenges each character's worst fear. From Suri's vulnerability as a civilian and grieving sibling, to Okoye's struggle with her survivor's guilt and her revoked position challenging her duty, and Romonda being forced to grapple with her own mortality, each arc is fleshed out while refusing to evade from the necessary challenges of their current circumstances. Truthfully, it was honestly shocking to see how nuianced each arc was, epscially after Thor: Love and Thunder.
Agreed, it really makes the audience feel for the characters and flesh them out so much more. It pulls at your heartstrings, and I think this movie handled its comedy perfectly. The comedy was put in the right moments and it let serious moments be serious
I actually enjoyed Love and Thunder, mainly because it felt like a good way to provide Thor closure on his relationship with Jane, and I actually thought they handled Jane gaining Thor’s powers pretty well. That, and the running gag that implied Stormbreaker was jealous of Thor getting Mjolnir back was honestly hilarious. Also, Christian Bale was AMAZING as Gorr. I guess what I really liked about the movie is that Thor felt like an active character compared to Dr. Strange in Multiverse of Madness.
@@TF2Fan101 I don’t think the problem was Jane or Stormbreaker. But Thor was acting too comedic, especially considering at this point where he should be hiding his pain using comedy like Infinity War & Endgame showed to be consistent instead of being completely comedic. There was not a good mix of serious and comedic unlike Ragnarok. Also Gorr wasn’t given enough screen time to connect with him and see him as a threat. He had potential with the start but didn’t build on that
Tenoch Huerta was breath of fresh air, OMG! I was not expecting Namor to be so terrifying or for Tenoch to be sooooo...delicious. As for M'Baku, absolutely, he needs his own movie. but Seriously, Letitia Wright was beyond amazing here, Black Girl Magic indeed.
This movie was probably one of the most significant for me when I saw it in theatres. Shuri's anger at the world "not working right" and taking her brother hit hard. Her rage was very relatable for me and I loved seeing her arc over the movie of letting go of that rage and embracing peace. Taking the Black Panther power that she wanted to use to destroy and instead using it to forge peace was a beautiful way to redeem her at the end of all of this. Great video as always, mate!
I'm glad someone finally mentioned how well they nailed Namor and his level of power, and the really cool way he flies. It's markedly different from having rockets on his feet or wings on his back, it seems almost like the wings provide a variable level of thrust perpendicular to his feet, hence why he kind of "vaults" through the air. I also just love that he's really powerful, gives me pride in my heritage for some odd reason lmao.
I dont often think that CW doesnt talk about stuff enough but genuinely the musical scoring and tones in this film were peak. Tchallas funeral angelic and peaceful, Talokans entry, and shuris theme all amazing and emotion provoking
Cws best music is in the flash and supergirl honestly. For the arrow I feel like it was missing the Ominous music that shouod come with Olivers presence. Oliver is fucking SCARY so scary he commands respect from The gods of his earth without even demandimg it, imagine being a Human and Leading beings that can slaughter all of earth, and they confidently have nothing but faith for you. I seriously wish they did Justice to kate. She could have continued olivers legacy.
I love how Letitia Wright is not only a fantastic actress but she's lithe like a cat. I couldn't get over how good she looked in the suit. It's sad that it happened under these circumstances though
She might be killed off soon but it depends on what Disney wants to do because she did make some tweets that a similar person who lost her role made so we might not get a black panther movie for awhile

I think Ramonda’s death was crucial to tearing Shuri down truly to rock bottom - and it creates a similar parallel to Ramonda’s speech after removing Okoye’s rank where both of them have seemingly lost everything and are now acting out of grief
That's a trait borrowed from the comics iteration of T'Challa. Also they wouldn't have had time for an internal monogue it's already 2 hrs long. Being Black Panther was the quickest and surest way for Shuri to get the support of the ruling tribes and go to war against Namor so even if she thought it was a relic... it was still the best vehicle to her revenge. Same as Killmonger actually... he burned the herb because he thought the Panther was legitimately evil and it killed his dad... but he still saw the value of the mantle in getting people to do what he wanted.
@@afnd4603 It's funny, I felt it didn't come soon enough. These two civilizations need each other for defense (even though we know Namor will try to manipulate it to be offensive), so watching their people kill each other was really painful. No matter how technologically advanced they are, there's a legit chance history will repeat itself and they'll be colonized and destroyed. They can't afford to fight. Given the stakes, with so many deaths, where they each almost had to die - it *still* came down to Shuri having a spiritual revelation and Namor making a strategic choice. It took a lot to reach that tentative 'unity'.
I felt like Shuri's acceptance of the mantle on her own terms was more about coming to grips with her grief, rather than her relationship with spirituality and tradition. I read Shuri's refusal of the crown (and even skipping the ceremony) being indicative of that including her choice of Haiti to do the ritual. I think she's willing to accept the presence of spirituality, but I felt like they were setting her up for a future arc where she takes on her difficult relationship with Bast later on down the line.
while other movies have had to deal with the passing of their stars, i think only the fast and furious franchise has had to find a way to continue. that he was able to pull off this sequel proves coogler's supreme talent.
One of my favorite things about the mid-credits scene is that his Haitian name is Toussaint, I can only imagine that its after Toussaint Louverture, who is the guy who secured Haitian independence from the French. So having his Haitian name be Toussaint, and his Wakandan name be T'challa? Mans got some very large shoes to fill and I'm excited to see what happens.
Shuri's suit not only has her brother's silver and Kilmonger's gold, but it also has the white pearls which come from the funeral/grief she has had to go through to wear the suit which is amazing as well as sad. Plus it tell a whole story through it
This film hit me way harder than any other Marvel movie ever did. Chadwick was an excellent actor and an amazing person. You can feel the love and care that Ryan Coogler, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett and rest of the actors and film makers did to make this movie not only a celebrate of T'challa's character, but Chadwick's legacy. Rest in Piece Chadwick Boseman Wakanda Forever ❤
Man this made me emotional all over again. I'd say even more so than watching the movie. I love how you give so much respect and due grave to these works of art. Love this content man.
I saw this movie right after someone really important to me died. This movie actually helped me process some of my own grief, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
It is easy to tear apart a movie to nip pick to complain. It takes more talent to appreciate the the hard work it takes to make a film. You do a great job! I always look forward to your reviews to movies.
13:35 I am absolutely obsessed with Namor’s theme. The whole Black Panther 2 soundtrack is amazing. My favorites are 1. Imperius Rex 2. Namor’s Throne 3. Yibambe! 4. It could have been different Not saying that the last two are bad, they are all just amazing. It sounds so cool, and I always get goosebumps whenever I hear it.
The one thing that bugged me about making Okoye a Midnight Angel (not that she doesn't deserve an upgrade of her own after the amount of focus she's had so far) is that in the comics the Midnight Angels are a battle couple. I suspect the decision was partly based on Disney chickening out again on making a same-sex romance more prominent than certain international markets would be comfortable with.
To the music, the scores, the acting, the speech scene, the tribute to Chadwick, and how well the whole story and cast went throughout the movie makes this the best movie I’ve seen in a while.
The humor around Shuri is ALWAYS on point, both black panther films have been hilarious and tied with all the themes in this film it might be my favorite phase four mcu project, top 3 at least
i loved this movie SO MUCH. not just the obvious stuff like soundtrack, visuals, and action scenes, but also it felt so heartfelt and didn’t try to force humor in places where humor wouldn’t work. and shuri’s character arc????? amazing. i would’ve been more upset about ramonda getting killed off if not for the way the movie addressed shuri’s grief so well. it wasn’t shoved to the back burner, we got to SEE her pain and then her start on the road to healing instead of just seeing one crying scene and then fade to black.
As a Chicago born comic fan, I was very happy to see Riri Williams, and the love of her hometown so plainly seen. I think she was damn funny, I look forward to seeing her in the future!
My theater was packed on opening night. I have never been around so many people and utter silence that fell upon the crowd when The Marvel logo and Shuri remembering T’Challa at the end was an experience I’ll never forget.
I cry for Chadwick every time I see him. I feel so cheated as a fan of art. We were robbed of one of the greatest actors of a generation. I understand his family's and friends loss and empathize with them. It's selfish I know, but I cannot help but miss all the beauty that man would have left upon this earth.
The silence of the opening Marvel logo with just Chadwick makes me tear up every single time I see it. He was an incredible person and an incredible actor, bringing inspiration and relatability to people who aren't often thought of in big blockbusters like the MCU movies. I miss him, and I dont even know him. I think they made a respectable conclusion to his character's story in the midst of his untimely death.. I only hope they continue to make movies empowering people who deserve empowerment
A tiny win, for me at least, when Shuri asks Nakia if her mother met their son, you can go back and see that she did when she went to the school! It’s a sweet detail that makes me teary eyed
I loved the first one so much, and I absolutely loved Chadwick Boseman and was heartbroken when he paseed (made all the worse by the fact that my mother and step-father were battling cancer when he passed). I thought that there would be no chance that I would enjoy the second film. Instead, I found it so powerful, respectful, and well done on so many levels. I cried during the funeral for T'Challa, and when the Queen was kiilled (made worse by the loss of my mother not long ago), I started audibly sobbing and pretty much just had tears going through the rest of the film. I felt so deeply for Shuri, and it was so well written. The emotions in this film were so real and moving and not used in the way that so many films do where they use it as a weapon agains the audience. Rather than using the deaths of both Boseman and the characters as ham fisted tools, like so many films do; they depicted grief as a true thing in the many different ways that it affects us all; while giving powerful topics on ethics, racism, politics, etc.; and the gorgeous action scenes were not distracting or detracting from the heavy issues. I liked this film as much as I did the first. I rarely go to the theater anymore, and I was glad that I did. It was so worth the price and effort, even with the terrible chairs at our theater. I was glad I could then watch it again at home so soon after, thanks to streaming.
it always moved me, how actor Letitia Wright's and the character Shuri's path mirrored each other. Letitia was cast as a supporting character when she was still young and though I, of course, have no clue what the future of her character had been had Chadick Boseman not passed away, I don't think she'd have been expected to step up into the main role of a character which means so much to so many people. thus just like Shuri had to pick up the mantle of the Black Panther and the crown of her country after her father died, after her brother died and finally after her mother died, so did Letitia have to pick up the lead role of this franchise. and she did an excellent job and I do like her version of the Black Panther.
This entire movie is amazing. Everything from the major fight scenes to the small details like the fact that Killmongers scars are reflected on the robe he wears.
My boyfriend and I just saw this movie last week, after we'd watched Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. Attuma slid Okoye's spear back to her and my boyfriend leaned over and whispered to me: "Pick it up." We had to pause from laughing so hard.
11:21 that scene THAT SCENE right there is where namor cemented just how ruthless he truly is. Tenoche huerta owns this role you can't tell me otherwise.
Man T'Challa's funeral scene was heartbreaking. As sad and cruel as it is, the reason why this movie worked so well was because the emotions were REAL. They gave massive respect to Chadwick and I'm really happy. I think he would be too.
Can I just say there's one line that I always found so interesting, the bit where riri says "to be young gifted and black" and then follows up with "but I guess you don't say that over there" is just another subtle bit of characterization because it's such a different experience to be the minority in the country you live in Vs being the same react but not being a minority elsewhere
23:39 Like I said: The best thing about Namor: He will do anything to protect his people. The worst thing about Namor: He will do anything to protect his people. And in both cases he does mean anything.
I saw this movie for my mom's company holiday party - I had no intention of staying for the movie (I was there to see her receive an award) & I haven't seen the 1st one. I ended up staying & I'm glad I did. I loved the movie! The action scenes were phenomenal! I left the theater feeling pretty great!
Yooo, loved that little wink to "Sin Nombre" As a Mexican, Tenoch as Namor meaning a lot to me, it makes me glad to see him on screen. Lotta love to you and your family, great video, loved it.
The intro to this movie was the quietest theatre I have ever been in. I heard quit sobbing, but other than that, I was actually afraid to move an inch. So beautiful 😭
The line "i was afraid of how final it would be" always hit me really hard because about 6 months before the movie came out my friend died and i couldnt bring myself to go to the funeral because that would mean accepting their dead and funerals always feel like they take place too soon after
They mixed a funeral with a superhero film and it was well done. I've hardly seen anything like it. Heck, initially I wasn't interested in the film when it was announced that Tchalla won't be recast. But then I heard that Namor and Ironheart would be introduced in the film. After watching the film, those 2 were the best characters IMO alongside Shuri and Mbaku. Literally every character felt great and they all had their moments that no one else could do. Best product of phase 4 by a mile.
Okay so, Val first shows up in "Falcon and The Winter Soldier" to recruit John Walker as U.S. Agent, then she shows up in Black Widow to hire Yelena to kill Clint, but then in "Hawkeye", it was revealed that it was Kate Bishop's mother, along with Kingpin that hired Yelena to kill Clint, and in this movie it was revealed that Val is the head of the CIA. Which means that Kingpin has a direct connection to the CIA and access to U.S. Agent, and probably more Black Widow assassins and I don't think enough people are talking about this development enough.
Ignoring I’m Mexican, I loved Namor and Talokan, I really hope they appear on other projects. Ps:During the movie, seeing how killing Tenoch performance was, I was scared they would kill him off as they did Killmonger

Okay but who else can imagine M'baku "dueling" the little prince, telling him he needs to get strong if he's going to take the throne from, while giving him actual tips for fighting
I think you felt the same way as I did. I was surprised at myself, as someone who gets emotional in many films, the only part I teared up at was when okoye was punished. I was so invested in her story. Since music really affects me in films, I think it was the music that was off for me this time
Something I really love about this film is the fact that they didn't throw in a cool thing or an introduction to a character for a different film into the end credit scene, they ended it on a beautiful tribute to T'Challa, and I'm so happy they did.
Rewatched this again after watching this video....man...such a wonderfully powerful movie. I 100% agree with N'Jadaka coming back to life in some way aside from this cameo...he has been one of my favorite characters in any MCU movie thus far....there is a Resurrection Altar in the comics that brings him back. Also, 100% agree that M'Baku should get his own movie. Winston Duke is such a fantastic actor and has absolutely killed that part!
Within the first five minutes of the film, tears were streaming down my cheeks. This is the first time that I have ever cried during a movie and I will never forget it. I was a beautiful film.

Exactly, they didn’t mention his death in every minute to manipulate our emotions but we can still feel T’Challa’s impacts on every single character and their character arc throughout the movie
or they could've recasted.
@@Rhenzkiller if they recasted him people were gonna get angry, if they didn't recasted him people (like you) were gonna get mad, so choose your poison, also I don't think that replacing him is a very good tribute for him
What?? They most definitely profited off his death. The first 5 min was them killing Chadwick. Chadwick and Tchalla got disrespected
@@tmac731 I don’t think u understand what ur saying lol
I'm surprised you didn't win the fact during the scene with killmonger his white robe sweater thing he's wearing is knitted to look like all the scars he put all over his body for each person he's killed. So even while wearing the robes he was still in a way showing off how proud he was of his scars
Or just winning the scenes because Killmonger is fuckin smooth as hell in that robe.
I didn’t notice the similarities to the scars when watching the movie, but noticed while watching this video. Great call out!
@@JakeSezz or the bumps/studs on Shuris black panther outfit
As soon as T’challa and Nakia’s son introduced himself as Prince T’challa, I started bawling, couldn’t stop it, I was full on sobbing in my seat
I love the synth beats in Shuri’s Black Panther theme, especially contextually…it makes her sound almost more like a villain or anti-hero, and I LOVE IT
what an interesting take on it, for me I thought it had to do with Shuri relying more on technology than her brother did.
@@benzaiten933 I can see that…
@@benzaiten933 That was my thought too.
For me something about her theme reminded me of the killmonger theme and that adds just like the gold on her suit
@@rkah6187It reeked of "White men won't see a movie that doesn't have a White man in it, and that's our main audience" that Hollywood pulls so often.
Yeah, but he should've just been a cameo
it still connected to FTAWS and Ross impersonated a guy in FBI in a deleted scene but he is the link between America and Wakanda
Honestly Angela Basset deserves all the rewards and love.
Preach, I'm rooting for Angela to take home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar!
Angela Bassett did the thing
And they say cb movies aren't cinema. Peak performance
agreed
@Edward Vincent Laybourn Waller i’m sorry to say i have not seen The Whale yet but i want to and if i do my opinion might change but i still hold out love for my queen.

Fun fact: Namor shorts had to be digitally reduce due a long weapon he was carrying.
You mean his
Vibranium spear?? 😏😏😏
Oop! Nice terminology! 😳🤣
I certainly loved the backstory for Namor.
I wanna see this weapon
Oh you meant his - that's funny
Angela Bassett killed it but shout out to Letitia for stepping into the lead role and bringing 100% to every scene. Imagine the pressure she was under, especially given the circumstances surrounding Chadwick's death.
Amazing film.
I really enjoyed the portrayal of grief in this movie, felt very realistic and did not pull any punches. Angela Bassett is a great actor.
I daresay she's always been great. Her "Mace" is the courageous heart of STRANGE DAYS, which is a film filled with exquisite performances.
She really is
Sssooo much amen!!! It's helping me deal with losing my mum. It's fucking hard but it's beautifully cathartic.
It gives me hope for when they rock out Doom. A leader who damn well will make an honest to god Utopia, even if he has Killmongers methods about it.
Namor is not evil. Killmonger is pure evil.
@@omarscarborough4274 I agree.
@@omarscarborough4274 That's why I was saying antagonist instead of villain. I should have found a better example.
This movie originally from rumors I seen online said they were both gonna be Black Panthers in this
@@djjones2441 Oof, that would've been amazing. May Mr. Boseman rest in peace.
Another win you could have added as riri's line of "to be young gifted and black" was also something Chadwick said on stage (can't remember where I just know know he said it) and that was another tribute to him
It's a reference to Lorraine Hansberry, the first black woman to have a play in Broadway. Chadwick Boseman said it during the SAG Awards, i think.
@@AzureRoxe thank you for the education, always grateful to learn new stuff 😁
Its*, not it's ✌
Excellent points. Also, it's not vunrability, it's vulnerability.
Great video as always, mate!
very true and yet I hope there'll be a "What if.....?" episode dedicated to Shuri joining hands with Namor and burning the world.
@@benzaiten933 Oh that’d be sick!! I’m ready for the Shuri world domination arc.
@@benzaiten933 Yyyaaasss!!!! There's already fics on that. 😈
Angela realistically portrays a sense of loss and grief that you rarely see and I 100% believe THEY are Black Panther. Good origin story as well
I like how you acknowledged that Namor DIDN'T kill Ramonda! My older sister tried to make that argument!
I dont often think that CW doesnt talk about stuff enough but genuinely the musical scoring and tones in this film were peak. Tchallas funeral angelic and peaceful, Talokans entry, and shuris theme all amazing and emotion provoking
💯
Cws best music is in the flash and supergirl honestly. For the arrow I feel like it was missing the Ominous music that shouod come with Olivers presence. Oliver is fucking SCARY so scary he commands respect from The gods of his earth without even demandimg it, imagine being a Human and Leading beings that can slaughter all of earth, and they confidently have nothing but faith for you. I seriously wish they did Justice to kate. She could have continued olivers legacy.
Part of what I love about Tenoch's performance as Namor is that he brought in the occasional humorous bit that Namor is known for in the comics
I couldn't help but chuckle in those scenes. Tenoch Huerta was a good choice for casting. Can't wait to see the Namor series (or movie?).
@@JaimeD.
I also loved the "I need water" line which is also comic accurate
He also said his iconic war cry "Imperious Rex" in Spanish
I love how Letitia Wright is not only a fantastic actress but she's lithe like a cat. I couldn't get over how good she looked in the suit. It's sad that it happened under these circumstances though
She might be killed off soon but it depends on what Disney wants to do because she did make some tweets that a similar person who lost her role made so we might not get a black panther movie for awhile

Just the constant puns when okoye was wasting attuma’s fishbowls is perfect
I think Ramonda’s death was crucial to tearing Shuri down truly to rock bottom - and it creates a similar parallel to Ramonda’s speech after removing Okoye’s rank where both of them have seemingly lost everything and are now acting out of grief
That's why monarchies bad
I wish Shuri’s preference of technology over faith and culture was explored more; it felt like her acceptance of the Black Panther came too suddenly
Everything came so suddenly in this movie, even the 'unity' of Talocan and Wakanda at the end
Yep but it was like 1.5 into the 2 hr movie. It took a relative long "minute" to accept
It's wonderful to see Ryan Coogler back in the MCU.
while other movies have had to deal with the passing of their stars, i think only the fast and furious franchise has had to find a way to continue. that he was able to pull off this sequel proves coogler's supreme talent.
“That’s at least $1312 worth of damage!”
Hold on I gotta google something real quick
*5 seconds later* BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh I love you CW, I really do
Shuri's suit not only has her brother's silver and Kilmonger's gold, but it also has the white pearls which come from the funeral/grief she has had to go through to wear the suit which is amazing as well as sad. Plus it tell a whole story through it
i was literally just like “damn theres really nothing to watch” you just saved me 😭
This film hit me way harder than any other Marvel movie ever did. Chadwick was an excellent actor and an amazing person. You can feel the love and care that Ryan Coogler, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett and rest of the actors and film makers did to make this movie not only a celebrate of T'challa's character, but Chadwick's legacy.
Rest in Piece Chadwick Boseman

Man this made me emotional all over again. I'd say even more so than watching the movie. I love how you give so much respect and due grave to these works of art. Love this content man.
I saw this movie right after someone really important to me died. This movie actually helped me process some of my own grief, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
You are a SICK man for replaying that clip of Shuri cutting Namor’s wing that many times man😭
It is easy to tear apart a movie to nip pick to complain. It takes more talent to appreciate the the hard work it takes to make a film. You do a great job! I always look forward to your reviews to movies.
Which is why I prefer Wins to Sins.

agreed, get so tired of people being so pessimistic about movies / tv these days
It's pretty nuts that the series can continue with a respectful tribute to Chadwick and a new enemy that made for a new reason to fear the water!
13:35 I am absolutely obsessed with Namor’s theme. The whole Black Panther 2 soundtrack is amazing. My favorites are
1. Imperius Rex
2. Namor’s Throne
3. Yibambe!
4. It could have been different
Not saying that the last two are bad, they are all just amazing.
The directors cut has more of the two. It was more timing than avoidance according to interviews.
I like how you can switch of and enjoy a movie and not get dragged down with all the little bits
End credits scene 👏👏👏.
Was really hoping that they had a kid before he died so that his legacy lives on in his son
it always moved me, how actor Letitia Wright's and the character Shuri's path mirrored each other.

Another fun details is the suit that Shuri is given is the same one that the divers looking for vibranium were wearing.
This entire movie is amazing. Everything from the major fight scenes to the small details like the fact that Killmongers scars are reflected on the robe he wears.
My boyfriend and I just saw this movie last week, after we'd watched Puss In Boots: The Last Wish.
Attuma slid Okoye's spear back to her and my boyfriend leaned over and whispered to me: "Pick it up."
We had to pause from laughing so hard.
M'Baku has always been my favorite. I love that they gave him a chance to show a lot more depth in this movie.
What got me out of everything in this film was: "my name is Prince T'Challa, son of King T'Challa" like that really got me
I cried literally the entire time but despite all that, I loved the movie
Me to
11:21 that scene THAT SCENE right there is where namor cemented just how ruthless he truly is.
We will all miss Chadwick very much, R.I.P. Chadwick Boseman, Wakanda Forever 🥺

I remember watching this in theaters with my friends. The silent intro was SO powerful. We were all teary.
Yooo, loved that little wink to "Sin Nombre"
As a Mexican, Tenoch as Namor meaning a lot to me, it makes me glad to see him on screen. Lotta love to you and your family, great video, loved it.
The intro to this movie was the quietest theatre I have ever been in. I heard quit sobbing, but other than that, I was actually afraid to move an inch. So beautiful 😭
Simple. I get notifications. I click
The line "i was afraid of how final it would be" always hit me really hard because about 6 months before the movie came out my friend died and i couldnt bring myself to go to the funeral because that would mean accepting their dead and funerals always feel like they take place too soon after
Haven’t even watched it and it is already amazing
5:25 this actually a quote from one of Chadwick’s speeches, I’m crying
Ps:During the movie, seeing how killing Tenoch performance was, I was scared they would kill him off as they did Killmonger
the power and feelings, and broken heart of queen ramonda when she confronted Okoye, ufff

Angela Bassett making me FEEEL with the way her character saved Riri and was found face-down in the water 😭🙏
the fact that Killmonger is the one who Shuri sees in this movie plays perfectly with the fact he wanted to be buried in the ocean
Angels Basset is ALWAYS a win!
Also, the line from M’Baku “you bald headed demon” was completely improvised by Winston Duke!
$1,312 dollars is an amazing and very accurate estimate of those damages!
Namor punch in the final battle is one of my FAVORITE scenes in ANY MCU movie, just shot so beautiful.
Winston Duke is such a fantastic actor and has absolutely killed that part!

the siren song literally gives me the chills every time I see that scene on the boat, its honestly genuinely uncomfortable
He threatened Wakanda, killed the Queen, but where I turned on Namor was when he scared away the elephants from the waterhole, honestly.
But so, so glad that Ryan Coogler came back and this sequel came out as amazing as it did.
