I've been watching several live stuff of these guys from the Freak to Ballroom era. 6 full shows so far. They all have different levels of perfection. I'm starting to think that Silverchair was one of the best live rock bands of all times. So raw, so tight! And gets more relevant since we're talking of three teenagers. Criminally underrated!
Right on! Yeah I was obsessed back in the day, now I'm revisiting silverchair and I'm falling back in love with this band. In my opinion there the best rock band ever! So wierd,raw,unique style. Check out the rocknrio gig. One of there best.

Lets be honest, as much as many fans preferring this era and earlier, the band Silverchair mk1was built on angst. So after one learns to cope in life (maturity). You can't blame the guy for not wanting to mimic, fake angst or rehash the same formula. Neon Ballroom was a beautiful compromise before the transition into Silverchair mk2 the "we can actually write, sing and play our instruments" unlike a lot of repeat the formula bands of that era. Alas bittersweet but undeniably one of the greats :)
So you're day Ng because he moved out of his moms house and went on medication he "matured"? Maybe the meds screwed him up. Who knows I mean even sugar ray started out hard,then went soft and disbanded.
Not sure Daniel has ever learned to cope with life, it’s 2023 and he just almost killed himself and others in a drunk driving accident. Was “self-medicating” with alcohol. Angry teen or not he appeared much more together as a 16-17 year old than he ever has. After that, pills, weed, way too much alcohol, anorexia, arthritis, and who know what else would be your version of his “maturing and dealing with life” 🙄please….
You could say that these guys sound like 5 other bands ? Yet they are so unique, they unlike any other , and those other 5 have nothing over these guys !🎉😊🎉

Great band chemistry. Daniel Johns had/has such musical and songwriting maturity for his age. I saw an enter view where he said he has no recollection of his childhood. (Acid)?
i mean getting the entire crowd to sing freak basically is pretty good stage presence. like you can barley hear daniel’s vocals at the end that’s how loud they are
