My preference are full power ebike, recently I bought a canyon spectral on cfr ltd, it's a very beautiful machine very agile. For the price e of mine bike the finall control test could be better cause my bike came with a small paint default and my lyrik flight attendant was scratched. But besides that all is wonderful
I prefer a full powered, do anything e-mtb, so I bought the Torque ON CF8. I love my bike’s capability, looks, specs, and battery capacity (900 wh). For the money, there is nothing better in my opinion. This is my third Canyon bike. I have owned bikes from many of the top brands and Canyon is my favorite due to bang for your buck. Canyon can thank Sam Pilgrim, influencing me to try the Torque ON.
Full power. I am old (71) and lazy. I can ride with anybody, any age on my full power and have a good time. OK, the kids are a bit crazier on the downhill (they heal faster) but I can still hang in there. Climbs, long or techie, are limited by my skill, not my conditioning. At 71 my conditioning can never be as good as a 30 year old but my tech skills I can train for and be as good as a 30 something.
I prefer a E bike that actually works. I have had my Canyon Strive on for about 7 moth, and it is the fifth time I have to bring it in because something is wrong with it. Last time I buy a bike from a internet brand. To much problem when something happens to the bike.
I bought Neuron on fly in May after a long test drive. Love the narural feeling of the Bosch SX compared to ”motorbike” feeling of many full power motors. Fits my riding style. Did bike trials 20 years ago, and now I am practising pedal ups, manuals, bunny hops etc with this. Totally doable. Chose NOF instead of some other lower assist bikes due to M-size frame fitting perfectly (I’m 183 cm), low frame (can get seat properly out of way) and beefy links/joints. Might upgrade to 36/150 mm fork + carbon bar to compensate added weight at some point.
It's amazing, how the guys @ Canyon have access to torque wrenches worth 25.000 Euros, yet my Canyon Spectral came with some barely tightened screws (was lucky I checked all of them before the first ride) - and I'm talking about screws that should have been tightened to a specific torque @ the assembly line (not the headset/wheels' axles/etc). But, after an experience of 12+ yrs of working at gigantic companies like Canyon, I've seen enough to know: you will meet [INEVITABLE] some trash workers, which doesn't give a 💩 about customers' (end users') health and safety.
Treated myself to a Canyon Strive On underdog recently after much research and watching of EMBN. I can confirm that this bike is an absolute beast!! Couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Bike will be my partner on many epic adventures to come . Love the channel!!, hoping to see sime more epic adventure rides through the mountains from you guys soon.
Wow, fantastic set-up. The expensive torque wrenches are linked to the build stage/requirement. And know how many bolts to tighten per stage/part. A mechanic will be made aware of a missed bolt.
i follow canyon on social media and sadly the quality control seems to be very hit and miss, and lots of people have had issues with their bikes...thas said, i have one and love it!
I believe those are very fancy tools. They sent telemetry to a central computer so the quality control knows a torque of every bolt on the bike. At least I expect them to do so. Some car manufacturers are using same/similar tools.
Bonjour Avez vous des nouvelles pour le rappel mondial des batteries défectueuses sur le model TORQUE et SPECTRAL ? Cela fait 4 semaines que les gens ont reçu le courrier de rappel et depuis, plus rien... Good morning Do you have any news on the global recall of defective batteries on the TORQUE and SPECTRAL model? It's been 4 weeks since people received the reminder mail and since then, nothing...
my experience with QC and packaging has been awful with canyon! each canyon i have had has arrived damaged, stripped threads, rounded off heads, horrible scratches on aluminium frame to big chips on a carbon fibre frame. now to hear they use a £25,000 torque wrench yet still over tightened and stripped heads is just HILARIOUS! 🤣🤣🤣
Canyon prices are high competitive if you are lucky. I've been trying to buy a Strive ON CFR LTD for months. When they lower the price to 7K there is no my size, when there is my size the price goes back to almost 10K. I gave myself a few more days to wait but considering the risk and the issue with the bad assistance reported by many on Internet I'm thinking to accept the offer of a bike shop nearby: Orbea Wild M LTD at 11K with delivery in one hour
@@tonucaferran2882 You're right. Warranty is a flaw of all brands. If I have to take a 10/11K risk then the bike shop wins. I'll reconsider the Strive ON LTD only at 7.5K (the price it had in July 2024).
Good luck finding a shop to take it to when you have problems with it. That same shop who you haven't supported and have bi passed you think they would be willing to help you out with warranty work or someone who has purchased a bike from themselves. That's after you've waited weeks or months for delivery.
At least this problem isn't that substantial anymore, canyon has so called services partners in many countries, just google "canyon bike service partner" so see, if there is one in your area, at least in middle europe the system is "relatively" good, but of course "good" still means you need to drive 50-100km sometimes
All bike manufacturers have quality and or assembly issues, if you buy from a bike shop the bike has been checked and if needed put together properly hopefully
There will forever be QC problems with things like bike assembly because the people who get these jobs are not mechanics or don't have some type of mechanical trade and people who are not mechanics themselves will never understand. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you're doing it right. And from my personal experience people who never did an apprenticeship or actually learnt a trade have no quality of work like stripping bolt heads and scratching things ect. The industry that I work in deals with equipment worth millions and so many "Tradesmen" have not done an apprenticeship they have just worked in that industry for a long time then been promoted or got some kind of certification that anyone can get and means nothing.... It would be like if you worked in a mechanics workshop sweeping the floor and running around helping people then one day the company say ahh you've been here long enough you may as well be a mechanic and let's them start fixing stuff alone and treats them like they are a Tradesmen without ever doing an apprenticeship or learning how to do anything properly. This happens everywhere. The next time someone tells you they have a "trade" ask where they did their apprenticeship and if the answer is I didn't do one then they are not a trades person.
Direct to consumer just seems a bad idea for a bike, especially an ebike with all the electrics. Yes, you save some money but you are buying a toy you do not need so spend the extra money to get service from an LBS. If I have an issue I can get help in 15 minutes at my LBS. I can see this direct purchase if the buyer lives where there is no LBS, but otherwise just a bad idea for the purchaser.
100% on reliable service for ebikes. They work amazing until they don't. The electronic parts of ebikes makes them like cars and sometimes only a mechanic or the motor brand itself can resolve them. I wouldn't want to be left out on my own again.
ive had 4 canyons, all been rubbish, multiple bolts loose... All frames had atleast 1 warranty on complete frame.... They must make up their test numbers etc because they are horrid, Im yet to see a canyon in person that doesnt have issues.
@@Puketaha1 Well it was kinda unlucky as bought 1 and had frame replaced twice due to BB shell... they said when next lot was dropping with fix so sweet as second chance.... ended up buying a Cf spec, cf torque and al torqu at once, they were awful.
I was pretty disappointed when this bike was released. A clunky motor from a commute bike plus it's heavy weight (despite a "thin" fox 34) makes it non-competitive in my eyes. Specialized, Scott, Focus did a much better job IMHO.
Pity they leave out the retailers, with workshops and staff covering warranty, no people to talk to about there bike...... Maybe all manufacturers should do the same and close the shops at least manufacturers will make more money...and we customers can go hunting for the warranty work repair and aftercare.. interested to here your thoughts 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

@@stephenwensley9328 Their bikes are realy reliable but I think a big brand should be judged also by the speed and quality with which they deal with issues, even if they are few. And from what I see so far Canyon is not good at this.
