Diverse female character front and center (that is no way in hell gonna stay an antagonist for the whole show) - check

It was especially disturbing to me that he made it sound like (I have no experience with this software myself) it suggested options to you to "improve" the representation, like when he said it may suggest you "add new side character" or something. If so, that really fuckin explains a lot of writing today.

Love it when people bring up Nic Cage making shitty straight-to-dvd movies without realising he's in the middle of a career renaissance right now, and has made some of the most interesting US movies of the last few years (Mandy, Pig, Prisoners Of The Ghostland, Colour Out Of Space).
He's also mentioned how he has generally no interest in returning to big Hollywood movies because they don't allow him to be peak Cage.

Honestly don't get the hype for Matt Reeves. I don't think any of his films are that strong or standout. His Apes films were okay, but forgettable. His interpretation of Batman feels like a rehash and brings nothing new to the mythos. Honestly tired of seeing Batman early in his career. Give us Batman from the comics.

17:24 I have a coworker who-bless his heart- loves Star Wars with no reservations, which means if it has the name Star Wars on it he likes it. I asked him if he really thought the sequel trilogy was good, and if he thinks that the shows are doing justice to the characters of Star Wars, and all he responded with to me was “I think Star Wars is the coolest thing ever, and how can you hate it, it’s Star Wars you know?” Fans like him are unfortunately lost and will continue to be the steady income of these awful companies.

I love the Last Kingdom. It started on ITV but when they canceled it, Netflix picked it up. I have been watching it since it started. It is historical fiction, so that might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is very good.

Hollywood doesn't care about inclusivity. They want to be SEEN being inclusive to get points on Twitter. That's the only reason to trumpet the inclusiveness of their casting choices, rather than just do the casting and let people react.
I like how this show lasts about as long as a pub trip and not the rest afterwards

My son told me the other day that the trailer had dropped for Kenobi. And all I could do was say "cool, I don't care," I don't care. I'm not excited, a show about Obi-wan Kenobi, with Ewan McGregor as said character, and I don't care.
I hit that point after The Last Jedi.
There was NOTHING good in that movie.
Does the CW use the old Uwe Boll movie making system, where you get so mny tax credits to make the movie that you make money by losing money?

Re the Starcruiser and what paying customers think: there's a review/walkthrough by a young couple on the channel Always Believe. They are big fans of both Disney and Star Wars (including of at least part of the sequels). Have to say, some of the experience looked cooler than it did through the eyes of the barely interested media and shills. Such as, going to light speed seemed pretty realistic. But there was one main issue they had- they kept saying they thought it should be three days, because the schedule is so tight that, on their first day, they kept missing out on parts of their storyline and were getting stressed. They enjoyed themselves more the second day. Overall it still wasn't enough to convince me I should pay thousands of dollars, and I would have to be a lot more interested in the sequels than I am.

I think I figured out the ending to the season, The Woman inquisitor will rescue Obi in his confrontation and allow obi wan to flee, then the inquisitor woman will beat the shit out of Vader to redeem herself from evil and be the true hero.

I love the pace of The Batman gives it more athmosphere and feeling, I don't want films to just be action action action there has to be moments of character building. I love that the film was way more realistic no ridiculous Batmobile or Batwing etc..
In The Batman, I swear I saw Batman kill someone. The scene where he's fighting the Riddler's followers in the rafters, there's a moment where he grabs the sniper of one of the follows points it at another, and that dude gets shot in the chest.

The 'Kenobi' trailer made me role my eyes so hard I thought I gave myself an aneurism. I am so sick of the 'member deal (nostalgia bait) while they feed up nothing but shit.
Just think about it people; the OT specifically implies that Obi-wan was out of commission for the entire time between Episode III and IV; like inactive in the desert just watching after Luke. The rebels show was a fine enough addition; but I still don't like Maul being alive after episode 1 (I think it is stupid) but the scene in Rebels was fine. an entire show centered around him is either going to undermine the story or be incredibly uneventful; which obviously in can't be the latter so it WILL be the former.
David "Don't Hassle the Hoff" made a fuss about not getting recast as Fury.
The Last Kingdom I've binged and TWD. Chicago Fire and PD and the Resident. Only shows I care to sit through. Enjoyed an Expendables marathon last week. My picky entertainment is very limited.

The problem with Pandora is there's nothing compelling about it, it's just genetic alien fantasy world. It's very contrived and there's no mystery to it.
Joe Rogan as great as he is talked that movie up more than it had any business being and the cultural impact is grossly exaggerated. It was a pretty ok movie. Everyone ended up liking the military guy over the hippy aliens anyways.
Ha, totally forgot about Kenobi until you mentioned it. Watched it. Ewan McGregor looks exactly like Dennis Quaid in "Enemy Mine". So, will this show be finally about Boba Fett? :P

People keep saying no one hate Star Wars more than Star Wars fans but I think nothing could actually be further from the truth. All you have to do to please them is to throw some memberberries at them and they will eat it up faster than the Nexu jumped on that Geonosian guard in AOTC. Having the Duel of Fate/Battle of the Heroes mix playing over that nothing Kenobi trailer, barely a few years after The Force Awakens literally opens with "this should help to make things right", is the most cynical move I've ever seen in a promotional material. i can't believe anyone would fall for that, not after what they did to Luke, Han or Boba Fett. And for the record: Obi-Wan Kenobi is my favourite SW character and one of my all-time fictional heroes.
I’ve heard that Star Wars: Visions did that. Of course it’s made by Japanese people and not really hollywood. haha

I agree that it is good but it went on for too long. They could have had a much tighter script if they removed 2 or 3 episodes.
You should check out Train to Busan. I think that one is better. They reference it in the show which I thought was neat.

Reacher was good but I think it looks better by comparison to other current offerings. To me it felt like a lite version of Banshee (which is well worth a watch if you like Reacher).
Kind of. Banshee has the best fights in any tv show imo, realistic and over the top at the same time. Similarly when I watched "Yellowstone" I had this feeling thats its "Sons Of Anarchy" but with cowboys. Good because its been years when we had shows so good. I hope they will keep making money and they realize people want this stuff

Reacher was decent. But a bit too predictable or at least not as suspenseful
Banshee was excellent, no argument there, but I personally enjoyed Reacher more. Banshee did have that awesome scene were he fought the MMA guy though. No scene in Reacher beats that.
If you guys like Banshee, check out ''Warrior'', the show is made by the same producers and Bruce Lee's daughter, based on one of Bruce's manuscripts.
It's basically ''Gangs of New York'' but in San Francisco and with chinese gangs.
Joe Taslim from The Raid is in it and the fights are great, similar to Banshee.

In The Batman, during that scene the cops DO try to take Batman's mask off. You can hear them talking about it while he's trying to wake up, and Gordon is the only one telling them to stop. Then one cop is like "fuck it" and tries to take his mask off, which is what makes him go berserk and wake up
I think the issue is ( and I love the movie btw) that they only waited till Batman was at the police station before they try taking the mask off. Which is a little weird
@@emuman09 I can see that, but I'd argue that they were probably dealing with the adrenaline shock of the explosion and death of the DA combined with Gordon probably shielding Batman until that moment where it just wasn't possible anymore. I dont know, it felt pretty natural to me, or well enough reasoned it didn't bother me. That's just me though

Did anyone else find this a bit weird in The Batman...
The Batmobile- as a muscle car, it is awesome. It is an incredible looking muscle car. However, as a Batmobile it's really awkward. It has bulletproof windows and reinforced armor, yet the fricking engine is expose. The most important part of any car is left exposed on a vehicle designed for combat.
It's a huge design flaw and a detrimental weak point.
Every time these guys talk about "Batwoman" my mind goes to "Mystery of the Batwoman".. a really good movie.. where you have three women impersonate batman.. really cool story.. an with the eternal voice of batman/bruce Kevin Conroy (RIP)..

As a movie watcher ranging from Batman the Animated Series to the Chris Nolan movies, I never go the impression that he worked with the police much outside of Gordon. Not he was adversarial with the PD but he was a vigilante and it’s hinted that there are some corrupt cops.
But even I know the title of Batman is the Worlds Greatest Detective.

The new Babylon 5 series will likely go in a different direction from the original, because a LOT of changes happened for a variety of production reasons.
Like Michael O'Hare/Jeffrey Sinclair needing to quit due to mental health reasons, and a variety of other actors who couldn't come back or who left.
Unless the new one is just another hollywood woke fest. Then it's just lost.

The thing about Elden Ring for me is that it really feels like you could make a graphic novel series based on what my character has gone through.
It doesnt make sense for them to fight, not so much cuz of new hope dialog, but cuz vaders hobbled ass wouldnt stand a chance against obi at that age. Ya know, the guy who removed all his limbs when he fought him at peak condition.

I got Gran Turismo 7. Waiting for a sale on Elden Ring, and I'm also super burnt out on RPG's. Been playing a bunch including DS3 up to recently.

One of my best mates tried ds3 and bb and hated them. He got elden ring and I thought it could be a disasterous choice for him. To my surprise, he loves it and is still going.
Edit: Ds1 Is one of my favorite games ever. Telling my mate to go back and play that too

I watch both Subs and Dubs. As my wife is dyslexic she cannot keep up with subs so we watch Dubs together.
A few anime that I think are better dubbed: Cowboy Bebop, Overlord, Mushoku Tensei, Log Horizon, Ghost Story...just off the top of my head.
Gotta do what you gotta do. Think cowboy bebop dub is rock solid. Also Akira dub is almost word for word

If I’m being honest, I checked out of Star Wars after suffering Attack of the Clones. It looked AWFUL with cartoony CGI, idiotic “not Boba Fett” and cringe comedy, poor tone. That’s when the wheels came off. Disney has taken its nod from those 3 nightmare films and shat out that new stuff and it won’t stop
The prequels had good themes and ideas but poorly executed. The sequels had bad themes, ideas, and poorly executed.

Sam Jackson as Fury is still a race-swapped, tokenized Nick Fury.
But we knew it was coming due to Sam Jackson's face being used for Fury in The Ultimates, but on the condition that he get to play Nick Fury if there was ever a movie with Nick Fury in the future.
He's also almost perfect for the role too.

Unpopular opinion: When watching live action foreign shows, I always opt for dubbed unless its absolutely horrific, which it usually isn't. You miss too much actual acting reading subs, facial expressions and what not.
I'm not familiar with the cadence of foreign languages so unless they are screaming or whispering how am I supposed to pick up on subtleties unless I'm looking at their expressions when they say something? Personally, I just think you get more out of it that way. Don't kill me...
I don't know why that's considered an unpopular opinion. It makes total sense. I can do subs with a movie, because that's a sprint, but with a TV show it's a marathon or a cross country run, so I go dubs. All we ever really hear are a bunch of blabbety-blab in foreign talk whilst reading words and not seeing their faces. What's the point?

The German sci di show Dark had a main female character who was badly scarred. No one clutched their pearls.
