The idea that people could use a statement or a post you posted ten years ago and have people believe that it’s a full representation of who you are today that you can’t be afforded change not only by yourself but the public because of that post! I am pushing back against the idea that people cannot cautiously change. It's absurd! YOU as you are reading this you are not the same person you were five years ago in fact you don’t even agree with the things you said two weeks ago! Why can you not afford Chris the same grace? I am so glad that people are pushing back against the toxic cancel culture. Thank you for this video!

What's worse they fail to cancel our own celebrities but here they are wanting to cancel chris for something he did as a young man,Rihanna forgave him a long time ago, they must boycott him if they want, but they should also have respect for those who choose to support him and forgave him for his past deeds.

Change is not afforded you, change is a deliberate decision and a process that takes time, work and effort to achieve. And it is your responsibility to convince those around you of the change that you have made, otherwise we are all judged by our past behavior whether 10 years ago or two months ago. It is nonsensical to expect people judge you differently without any evidence to suggest that you are different person or whatever lessons that you have learned from your past experience.
We are all judged, yes judged, by our past and present actions and behaviors. So, it is important that we are very mindful of how we present ourselves and the energy that we are putting out there because society does not owe anybody understanding.

Cancel can be very dangerous and it has alot of double standards because if people love you (you can never do any wrong) and if they dislike you for whatever reason things can be really bad for you. I feel it's also very bias and has to do with alot of misguided emotions.

I think it depends. If someone has made amends for their actions, has taken accountability and tried to right their wrongs, then cancelling them would be giving them a punishment that is not proportional to their crime. However if this person has not taken accountability and refuses to acknowledge their actions, then people are warranted to not support them.
I also don't like cancel culture but I also wont be defending people who are yet to make amends. That's my 2 cents.

So basically you refrained from having an opinion on a celebrity/influencer who has displayed a pattern of bad behaviour because you are scared that other ppl will call you out on the internet for your own behaviour ?
really friend... cancel culture is about keeping these celebrities/influencers accountable ..the fact that their talent persists despite their behaviour is the problem! ppl will ignore their bad behaviour because they like the song/content they produce...so cancelling and telling others to boycott their content keeps them accountable for their actions. it hits them in their wallet where they feel it the most.
Cancelling ppl isn't 100% effective but it a step in the right direction towards not tolerating bad behaviour just because someone is rich, famous and talented. In Chris Browns case he has displayed a PATTERN of bad behaviour towards women...he apologized for rihanna but moving forward in his life has the displayed behaviour that shows he wants to be a better person and change his ways? if yes then fine the cancelling is unfair but if not..which is what ppl are seeing.. then he deserves the cancellation.
At this point just say youre a fan

Trust me ..keeping quiet on your position on a celebrity/influencers questionable behaviour will not save you from being called out and cancelled on the internet if you do some questionable things yourself. Chirs may be a dad and friend and a brother etc but if the claims are true then he's also an abuser and a misogynist and that behaviour no matter the good he's done can not be tolerated

Well so many people are waking and have stopped adhering to this cancel culture nonsense. One of the most disgusting things that’s very prevalent with people like you is that you take away accountability from women and act like they can do no wrong. This is also why cancel culture targets mainly certain races and a specific gender (which is men).
When it comes to Chris brown, he has a history fighting and beating up men but no one calls for his cancellation when he does that. But apparently he should be cancelled for beating up Rihanna who initiated their altercation and got what she deserved.
You even dare to say cancellation is the step towards the right direction as if your judgement and calls for destroying people’s lives has been 100% accurate. So many people have had their lives ruined on false allegations and the refusal to address this by feminists and their like is why we are done with this pathetic movement.
If you want to cancel and boycott anyone do it at your own peril, just don’t try to recruit us in your rubbish.

Hi Sihle, hope you are well. What is your stance on repentance?

    • @Sihleeey
      @Sihleeey  Месяц назад +4

Repentance is not saying “sorry God” and moving on with your life . It’s a change of heart which leads to a change of behaviour. It’s easy to see if someone has truly repented and most importantly God knows when people have done it sincerely. I never worry about inflicting punishment on people that do wrong because I know that every act will have consequences Whether we can see it or not. A lot of celebrities like Chris have not repented and they will answer for that

@@Sihleeey Thank you for your answer. Lets take this account to demonstrate repentance based on you answer. Luke 18:9-14 kjv, a publican was justified rather than a Pharisee. The follow up comes in to say, what made this man (publican) change his behaviour whilst a doctor of the law failed to be an example to him? If you can, please explain with scriptures.
