True indeed. I've noticed this too. When I use a heavy bag I tend to focus on the power of my punches but while shadowing I focus more on footwork, defense and technique 🗿💪
I'm quite young and I'm a very new to boxing started about a week ago and I have to say, love your videos and so far they've made me more confident and less anxious about training boxing. Keep up the amazing work and thank you for all those videos!
Just checked my phone after a 3 rd. Shadow boxing session in my basement gym. It is one of the best things to work on to improve your boxing tempo. 👍🥊🇺🇸🇬🇧
I recently stopped smoking weed and for the first time ever at almost age 30 started taking workouts serious. In between reps I started shadow boxing for some reason, it just came natural. I don't know much about boxing, but I do it in a way that feels healthy for muscles and joints and feels realistic, like turning in your leg for balance and stuff. It just came to my mind, that there's probably youtube tutorials on how to properly shadow box, so I can implement it into my workout routine fully. Cheers for the tips and your great attitude lad! :)
First day yesterday shadow boxing in a gym studio guy asked me if I was a boxer i said no he goes you look good and its all thanks to Tony and his videos! Im 36 btw!
I lost my memories And I forget a some things about boxing. This video means a kor of help to me right now. Thank you soo much! Sorry if I misspelled some things I am not an english speaking person. Have a nice day And stay safe!
I will do shadow boxing because i need to defend my family. Im the only male in the house, papa is gone, i will protect my mom, even if it means losing my own life.
I want to start mua thai. I aint got enough place at home..for the start i will take some advice from a boxer. I am fat as fuck around my belly so at least i can lose some weight with/by shadowboxing. Many many thanx for posting up this video
I've been shadow boxing for years now and i honestly think im one of the most impressive shadow boxers you'll ever see. And i taught myself 100% everything is from scratch of my own style
Everything is fast I am rewatching every move so that I could perfect it, I am doing boxing secretly from my family's, and get ready for the future when needed
Focus on defense. Slips, blocks, footwork, pulls. Focus on feints: drawing out a reaction, then punishing that reaction. What feints draw out what defenses and counters? How to punish those reactions? Focus on variety: throw a different combination every time Focus on cardio: bring up the intensity
I never liked running and learned that shadow boxing is a great conditioning exercise. Im a beginner when it comes to fitness. After my session my whole back and shoulders ached just as if i did a full body work out.
@@sleshhsh Absolutely, first of all - it's trains your muscle memory and helps you make faster combo's in shorter time . Improves your aim of your punching and work on your foot work and defence . Visualize your opponent is important
Since i watched rocky I’ve been in love with boxing and now when my brother hits me i just destroy him ofc i dont hit to hard cause ye but thank you for this video amazing
If you mean not flinching, you need to spar and get hit in the face a bit so the fear component settles down a little, and also think about how you want to react to certain punches and try to focus in sparring rounds.
Legit don’t be scared of punches at just keep your eyes open for anyhting , it’s legit that easy you know your good when people are throwing bombs at you and your in the matrix
You are just incredible Sir. Thank you so much for such informative lessons. My humble request for some exclusive lessons on Defence and also different uppercuts. Love from 🇮🇳
Firstly i binge watch these video’s thank you for sharing your expertise Tony, quick question (won’t be the last one, sorry) whenever i shadow box or “simulate” at home i try and be realistic about what volume id actually throw and try and work on angles and i tend to do more feints and defensive moves and not just pretend id throw hundred unanswered and undefended punches, but my combo usually ends up just being jab, jab, straight and then a hook variations and then backing off and ive never been able to break out of that rhythm, any tips? And how to not just basically turn my back, in the gym while doing technical sparring (like only working the body) i seemed to be okay at engaging and disengaging but if im at home and asking someone to help me train i end up hiding away from shots and getting swarmed whilst moving backwards till i hit a surface, is this fine as in a real competetion no one would just come running toward me swinging wildly or is it just anxiety because its a personal person to me? Any help would be great thank you
