I normally write books (fiction and non), but I do have one screenplay under my belt. I admire ANYONE who can write a screenplay. Just getting the indentations right is a nightmare! Beyond that, to write one with the quality of Sling Blade is right up there at a superhero level. NO question Billy is not only supremely gifted, but also dedicated to quality. All good wishes.
Kevin, you are my hero, man. You get all these great interviews! BBT is so freakin awesome, he must be aware of it, but he seems so normal. I love him in EVERYTHING. He is so good, he's like completely different people from one role to another. LOVED him as Johnny Tyler in Tombstone, as Karl Childers in Sling Blade, as Jacob in A Simple Plan... He's alway so different, and one easily forgets that's him! And when BBT writes a script, it stays written! The dialog in Sling Blade is so good and so quotable. I remember nearly all of it. It is my sincerest wish that Billy somehow understands how much he is appreciated for who he is and how good he is at what he does. P.S. Just for fun: $400 in 1984 is $1139 in 2022, which for ME is between $8.9 and 9.2 billion
You should have a lot more views and a lot more subscribers for sure 😮 Kevin is an amazing actor and amazing Host ❤ Maybe not everyone knows he has a channel. I did run across it by accident. Love him in Whole Nine/Ten Yards Great performance Everything he does is so awesome seen like 10 other films of his ❤ But maybe advertising 🤷🏻♀️ blows my mind
8/2022,................This stuff is golden! Even though its years later, from when it aired, it was compelling and very entertaining. Kevin is a great interviewer.
I love the discussion about Zappa and a great reminder to go revisit that music as I've never gone as deep into him as I would like to, but many of the musical artists I love are in that vein and have similar influence, also seen Dweezil Zappa a couple times. I think todays equivalent would be Umphrey's McGee (not gonna go on an endless rant about them, though I could), I am curious if Billy Bob is aware of them and a fan as they are famously from Chicago, his favorite city, and are very inspired by the prog. rock & improv heavy "jam" band of that time: Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Adrian Belew, Talking Heads etc. also then Primus & Phish etc. Umphrey's McGee from South Bend Indiana/Chi-town . . . . CHECK EM OUT! Nothing Too Fancy!
Still plenty of negativity all these years later. He's famous tor trapping people into saying something that he can become outraged over. Practically everyone in Canada was offended by a radio interview where he clammed-up because the host mentioned his movie career. His reaction was: "It's only Canada." Lovely guy.
This interview was done years ago. Since then we have found out that Billy Bob was quite the problem child. Several directors have found him to be a real stinkbomb, creating a toxic work environment on set. Even one of the nicest guys around, the director of Bad Santa, went through this nightmare. Apparently after the first two weeks or so, it's too late to fire certain actors in certain positions, and that's when this booze-fueled ego machine really ramps it up. His "punishment" is that he got a Sling Blade academy award and a Santa sequel from the studio. Plus fan adoration and whatever sympathy he got from breaking up from Jon Voight's bratty kid AJ. (Never meet your faves, and yes, he was once also one of my faves. Thankfully I've met several, but he wasn't one of them.)
The guest brought up Sam Raimi's 'dark' films. Seriously, is there anything darker than watching a grown man get sucked off by a child( in the Coen Bros. film)? Still recovering from that magical moment. You gotta love actors. When they start flying without a script, watch out!
KPCS interviews are painful for those of us with misophonia. Both people are miked so can't the sound be edited to remove the swallowing sounds? This was great interview besides that.
Kevin Pollak's show is a great interview show, but somebody should consider creating an impression of Kevin Pollak while he takes long dramatic pauses to collect his thoughts preparing to compliment the guest. These pauses have their own character, and they seem to take forever. He does certain gestures, like putting his arms straight out against the table, slowly rubbing his open palm over his face, and looking heavenward as if staving off tears. The guest always seems to be slightly non-plussed while he is doing this. The impression would have him start to voice his thoughts, only to lapse into this weird wordless jumble of gestures and facial expressions he does, and just never come out of it, or else just end the show, or go into a plug for some advertiser.
If this guy would lose the cheap, low rent, back alley, cheesy little hat, he'd have more presence and gravitas, and maybe his statements would matter.
ok so years later- same two talking about paying off Bob Gibson to not play for Harlem, now it's $400? Years later it's $500, I get it- nobody is perfect but I mean if I say oh yah it was $5 . There has got to be some point it really maters right?! Fuck Canada! 54 40 or fight!
Doyle isn't a bible -thumper. He makes fun of the Bible because he doesn't understand it. I'll bet a dime to a donut that Thornton knew the Bible much better than Doyle.
Then what a wonderful thing for you that she's not yours. Yet you still felt justified in insulting the woman. You,like your comment, are a waste of space and time.
Haha you both tell the same stories about the Cardinals again in the 2017 interview. Don't feel bad - I'm pretty sure I go around youtube making the same comments on the same videos over and over. What are you gonna do? Stop smoking pot? I do not think so.

If Billy Bob Thornton isn't just about the coolest cat around I don't know who is.
So very true.....
a trick: you can watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies lately.
@Kye Terrance Yea, I have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself =)
I like Billy Bob, not only a great actor but very direct.. no bullshit attitude which should be respected :)
southern boy
+YayaJada There are plenty of mealy mouthed asshole southern boys too. That has nothing to do with it.
somewhat of an ahole but was so good in Fargo and now Goliath
Wonderful interview, I really like the Billy Wilder story.
Billy Bob is one of the coolest and genuine movie stars out there, love to get wasted with him!

Great performance
Everything he does is so awesome seen like 10 other films of his ❤
But maybe advertising 🤷🏻♀️ blows my mind
Kevin's the best and Billy is great. ... You two duke it out.
I love Billy Bob so much really he's a wonderful man. From Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 ❤️
i love how he says don't judge me in one breath and judges others in the next.
Yeah he seemed a little defensive here idk why. He capes up big time for sling blade and I know it was sort of his baby. But how well has that aged?

Thornton is a legend!
Fantastic interview, great anecdotes.
I could listen to Warren Zevon stories all day long
Great Actor and Artist👍🏼😊❤️
Fantastic. I wish it were a couple hours longer. Great stuff.
Billy Bob is just another Cardinals fan which makes him Aces in my book.
I Could listen to him talk all day.
Does anyone actually come here for Kevin Pollak? Do as I do, folks: Skip to the interviews, every time.
Refreshing candid interview. No pretentiousness bullshit.
Billy Bob comes in at 9:24
happy 64th birthday billy bob thornton !!!!
Great interview, the swallowing every five seconds for those of use wearing headphones sucked though...
How does this chat show only get seventeen thousand views?!
Because it's available on many other sites and podcast networks. It's not just on RUclips.
great interview !!! thx
What does he mean he wishes he could do imitations ... ? According to Robert Duvall, Billy Bob does a great Lee Marvin impression.
He also did Captain Beefheart on Norm MacDonald's podcast.

Billy Bob not having any of the Larry King game eh
It's really, really great hearing people babbling in the background

Those are some fascinating opinions you're spewing about people you've never met Ed but my god shut up.
Put Bonnie Hunt in a movie please, she’s fabulous ❤❤❤
swallowing in stereo
Anyone notice that Sling Blade's Carl has the same haircut as Forrest Gump that came out two years before?
It's the size of Texas Mr President
Haha. Billy bob def played billy bob in Armageddon. Probably why I love that character so much.
everytime he says a 'w' word i can hear hank hill
Daym, he smokes a lot!
Kevin was great in Billions
Baseball part was awesome
Great interview!
a good interviewer listens and talks less
but it seems he sure likes to talk about himself a lot
How did Kevin Bollaks ever get this job?
it's HIS creation. No one hired him. I think he's a pompous jackass
I'm looking for the interview when b.b. talks about sitting in with the Allman brothers. Anyone ?
looks like the postal dude
The guest brought up Sam Raimi's 'dark' films. Seriously, is there anything darker than watching a grown man get sucked off by a child( in the Coen Bros. film)? Still recovering from that magical moment. You gotta love actors. When they start flying without a script, watch out!
+Baby Irene 17 years old in CA late 40s - legal
Brilliant
I love his accent.
........."Fuck!!" lol.
Kevin! Publicity, man! You're sitting on a goldmine!
He was so nice on that Q show
He's an actor... not a saint.
This guys an actor? I thought he was a music historian/drummer.
Kevin, Who is talking in the background?
Awesome
KPCS interviews are painful for those of us with misophonia. Both people are miked so can't the sound be edited to remove the swallowing sounds? This was great interview besides that.
How did pollack get a show?
he started one

wow they didn’t talk about monsters ball
If this guy would lose the cheap, low rent, back alley, cheesy little hat, he'd have more presence and gravitas, and maybe his statements would matter.
The "sign-off" is horribly anticlimactic.
was this the first podcast?
and by that I mean Pollak not the episode
and the producer has tits
I mean we all have tits, man or otherwise but she might have nice won"s
11:57 who farted?
2:00-4:00 time marker.
I love this podcast, but does Kevin have to drink so loud? Gross!!
ok so years later- same two talking about paying off Bob Gibson to not play for Harlem, now it's $400? Years later it's $500, I get it- nobody is perfect but I mean if I say oh yah it was $5 . There has got to be some point it really maters right?! Fuck Canada! 54 40 or fight!
What?? No Billy doing Larry King? Unsatisfactory :(
Love interview with Larry david
Does KP really think that "least we forget" is correct? If it is a joke, then stop. We've all heard it enough now.
Doyle isn't a bible -thumper. He makes fun of the Bible because he doesn't understand it.
I'll bet a dime to a donut that Thornton knew the Bible much better than Doyle.
Kevin's wife / girlfriend is such an irritant.
Then what a wonderful thing for you that she's not yours. Yet you still felt justified in insulting the woman. You,like your comment, are a waste of space and time.
Truth.
Pwrinkle Johnson Space and time are two sides of the same coin.
she doesn't bother me but I was surprised that she said she was Italian, I had assumed she was Jewish.
Socrates apparently she's the head writer for the show. though I agree she adds zero on-screen value.
kevin pollock is such a bore.
,
Kevin is such a pompous douchebag. "I went o school with Dave Rigehtti". Wow, what an accomplishment. You were a joke in Usual Suspects
Jesus how long does it take to say a friggin sentence. 2hrs could have been done in 45 mins
What do you have to do that's so important? Just sit back, shut up, and enjoy the conversation.
Omfg he takes forever to finish a story,,,,,
