This is the best genuine interview that I have ever had the privilege of watching. Even though this comment will get lost in the gaping ass of the interweb.. I sincerely thank you. The real men behind the masks. Thank you.
Spent a day with Dana years ago when he did a show at San Jose State. In private a wonderful, unassuming, charming guy. Then fifteen seconds before showtime he morphed into this comic dynamo and killed. After the show he quickly reverted to the shy unassuming earlier guy. A wonderful day.
We ran into Kevin Pollak ( you) in San Francisco when you did a stand up show twenty years ago. You did a great show and really cool because you were so friendly and greeted everyone coming in. It is nice to see down to earth actors/comedians and thank you. Love both of you guys. Great stories.
this is such a legendary interview. one of the great ones of entertainment industry. thank you Kevin for this. and dana you are a genuinely beautiful soul
Ross Perot "a walking, talking cartoon"! lol Dana, love you & glad you're okay! What an honor to have Frank Sinatra's last moments be by you. Thanks, Kevin, for letting guests tell the whole story. We don't get that anywhere else. :)
this is like radio, and i love it.... i dont' miss TV at all. I can paint and listen and laugh and be inspired all at the same time! Dana Carvey, the best comedian up there with George Carlin.
Years ago Dana did a show near Christmas for 1st Data Corporation that my wife and I were at. He cracked me up the entire show. You can tell how smart he is the way he can just go and go. Must be the 10,000 hour thing he talked about here. Carvey is just plain funny through and through.
A superb interview! It was nice getting a picture of the real Dana Carvey. So, only 10,000 hours to become a success, eh? Dana's explaining his plugged artery, was fascinating.
This was an excellent interview! Kevin is so relaxed and creates a atmosphere where incredible stars can be showcased for the everyday people that they are. Brilliant.
Dude the JFK and Elvis in a bunker thing is hilarious. For some reason I think Dana Carvey is one of the bests comedy actors of our time. Amazing impressionist as well.
August 2022,..........Love these interviews,.....I didn't start listening to any of these until a few weeks ago. The pandemic of 2020 -2021, destroyed my world. Stores are still not fully open, the ones that are,....have shortened hours,....ones that were 24 hours open,.....do not exist. Even bars aren't fully open, as much as they used to be. I gave up drinking,...years ago, anyway. I'm an old fart and should probably be at home more than I used to be. All the coffee house/bistros I used to frequent are closed by 6pm. It feels like we went back to the 1950s,.....when stores closed at 5, and there wasn't anything to do but go to sleep. For the last 3 years, the Internet and You Tube, saved me from going completely insane.
Wow! You guys brought back so many memories like The Old Waldorf which was a Bill Graham venue that famously became, The Punch Line. Holy City Zoo, Cobbs Comedy Club and The Hungry i were landmark venues for some of the greatest comedians. Amazing. Does anyone remember Alex Bennett?
Thank God, Dana went to the cardiologist and took care of the artery issue. Marin General Hospital is well rated but Cedar Sinai is stellar!. Unbelievable they missed his LAD during his surgery! I am a Sonoma County/Marin native and have encountered many physicians in the area. Thank goodness, his heart muscle was in great shape to begin!
Very funny Kevin, I like the format. I just found your channel and I'm impressed. Its like watching a bunch of friend in a bull session. I get to learn more about Dana than I ever would have on TV. Great show.
Thanks Dana I found your words very interesting. Kevin does the type of interview I think with the perspective that its real and the stories and guests seem unreserved.......cool
I spent a lot of time at the old Waldorf. I used to do lights with the girl that worked there Leslie. I remember those dressing rooms and a lot of famous people going in and out of them. It was one of the few clubs where you got to play and get a dinner ticket. Those were great times.
You mean Kevin Pollak would have been good. He is a far better interviewer than Dana. Danas forte is impressions and accents and stuff not interviewing
Flowers in the dirt for me was like The comeback album so to speak not quite wings it was all McCartney much like when Aerosmith Toys in the Attic that was the only album for me, and then Aerosmith rocks come out and that first song with that build first track side a is like it just it was amazing f****** amazing the same thing with the first cut on my brave face, unbelievable.
Last time I remember seeing him on SNL was probably back in.. 2002? I recall him & Will Ferrell and someone else doing some President sketch. Would be most excellent for him to host again, I wouldn't care if he has nothing to promote- just get 'em on!

Great interview, HUGE fan of Dana Carvey but for the longest time growing up I thought he was the same guy who played the judge on Night Court. I know, I know, white people don't all look alike but I swear I thought it was him.
I see what you mean. Carvey does look like Harry Anderson but if he stood behind him, no-one would know he was there. Night Court probably had the tallest cast in TV history. They had to modify the set to light Bull properly because he was 6' 8" and the rest of the guys were all about 6' 4". And Roz was almost 6'! Now you can win the next TV trivia contest. ;o)

Lucky you!
You don’t have to lie to have friends.
@@jerkface8051 Yes, I do. But this story is true.
@@bobothreenice comeback…:)
Carvey is surprisingly humble for a guy who absolutely killed at stand up. I saw him in the '80s before SNL and he was the best I ever saw.
a tip: watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Solomon Kendall yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself =)
A gem. A big thank you to Kevin and Dana. A delight

Dana's lessons apply to so many across the board. Great post, Kevin. You always strengthen my stomach!

Yuengling is from around my area, PA local brew and the oldest brewery in America. One of my favorite beers, more people should know about it.
This is the first and probably only time we will ever see Han Solo really open up and share his story with us. Amazing interview!

I always thought Dana would have been good to replace Leno as a host on the Tonight Show

Was not expecting the theme song! Good work
Dana we do care! It's fun to hear!
This podcast f'ckin rules.
Thought i was clicking on to see a hann solo interview.
Charlie rose called- he wants his table back!-just kidding, he hates that table
I've watched the Larry King game from this episode about four hundred times.
This was great
Fantastic. Thank you.
nice show and yes you can get yuengling on tap in NYC :)
"Cornhole stack". LMFAO! Dana Carvey wins the Larry King game.
At first glance of the thumbnail I thought it was Dana Carvey doing a Han Solo spoof
Cornhole stacks. Beyond brilliant.
Weird to just watch Dana being Dana, for over an hour.
Dana is fabulous. Let's get Billy Crystal next.
LOVE the intro song!
This was a treasure.
He still love his Kirk Douglas. Great guy! :)
Pittsburgh, PA, my home state❣️🥰
I saw Dana and Jon Lovitz at SLS in Las Vegas...

Looked at the thumbnail and thought is the algorithm broken, why is this interview with Tig Notaro being suggested to me?

We have to talk about "The Knights who say NEAT". Dana, wtf?
Are Dana and Tig Nataro twins separated at birth?
The Knights that say "neat"? OhhhKaaay....Sure. LOL
