well one is the producer and Kevin's girlfriend, the other, yeah he should just not be there. his laugh is one mental breakdown short of turning into Goofy.
Just love Burr. And he was very gracious with the "co-hosts" as they drove the show into the dirt. I can only imagine what he was thinking, but he was very nice about it.
mistercath I have a hard time deciding which is my fav, Bill or Louis, but in the end I think it's impossible to decide. Their comedic angles are so different, maybe they both take the top spot.
Thank You Kevin for creating this. So good for mental health. After losing my son at 25 last year I can laugh from the bottom of my belly. Thank you so very much.❤️😆😅😂🤣
43:03 - I'm leaving this timestamp for myself, because I love this story, but enjoy the story, other viewers. Bill tells a couple greta anecdotes about comedians who command the audience, and the last part is about Dave Attell. It's awesome.
MMPC I'd also like to thank you for breaking up those freckled pearl necklaces of Bill's into easy-to-share wisdom nuggets. I almost deleted this^ because it's fucking dumb, but I'm going down with the ship.
Happy to find the full interview. I had seen the clip talking about Louis CK and then this popped up on my RUclips feed. Two great performers. Two smart guys. For the last couple years I often have one dinner around normal dinner time and then have another one 2 1/2 to 3 hours later since I’m a night owl.also a fledgling standup comedian. Didn’t know it was called a bang bang. Have to remember that for further use.
i was gonna scroll down and say something about that chick but i'm glad the internet was way ahead of me, anyway still a great interview, really glad to hear the things bill got to say
I stumbled upon Bill Burr recently on youtube even though he has been around for years ... thankfully I did .. then I stumbled upon KPCS this is GREAT !!! Kevin Pollak is a multi actor he can play many different roles and has not been pushed into one type of role and he seems like a great guy too. I enjoyed him in A Few Good Men he didn't over act and his simple gestures often made the scene. The way he listens to the guests on KPCS shows great maturity and dignity and results in a unique show that enables us to get a much more deeper realistic understanding of the guest. What a treat. I wish him continued success
JS Warpaint The Cigar thing he heard with Jerry Sienfeld in Comedians in Cars you can see that episode on the Comdedians in Cars website. The episode with Bill Burr .. and Sienfeld tells him this story.
I really appreciate the craftsmanship and the artistry of their talking shop. Kevin Pollak is really funny, and I didn't really know how much so until I saw "the aristocrats". Thank you both for really dissecting the idea of stand up. it's more than just getting up there and telling a joke, it's a lot like live theatre, and the idea of taking the audience on more than just a laugh. maybe it's from the experience of being in front of a live audience, I dunno, but I really enjoyed this.
John Wu if the damage was as bad as he explains, the right amount of money could have taken care of it. i've listened to a lot of his podcasts and it seems that as good as he is, it's not paying him for his talent. oddly enough at some point, you have to do what makes good money. he's still a normal guy and that's probably why he's so good at what he does. i think kevin hart was rewarded before he could manage it all and his success has taken away from his talent. bill burr is still sort of in check with regular people problems and the older he gets, his craft has had enough time to be perfected. he could kill a big budget show, but what would it do to him? on his podcasts he's even talked about doing stand up in odd places for money. something else is there...still one of the greats. i think patrice o neal not blowing up is part of what made him a monster, because his stand up was all he had, sort of like bill burr calling himself a 'one trick pony'.
John Wu hey my man...if you're meaning my 'what made him a monster' comment. i was meaning Patrice, himself becoming a comedic monster because it was his supposed only outlet. he said he was offered many roles to do many things, but he just stuck to stand up, being very stubborn as he has stated. i don't think bill would have been overshadowed. i found bill listening to pandora one day on the patrice channel. it was the 'population problem' bit and i wondered 'who is this hilarious guy?' then when i googled him, i said the guy from Chappelle's Show who said 'then his girlfriend threw her titties in my chest'. that was all i knew of him and he has since been forgotten as that guy. he's now Bill Burr to me. i found Patrice one night roaming through the channels and his Elephant In the Room special was on. I immediately feel in love. hearing the '20 vs 40' bit, 'take his socks' bit just took me clean over the edge...they're similar with their knockout lines, but Chappelle had both of them on his show, letting you know how above the clouds Chappelle was. I recently saw Chappelle perform here in New Orleans. Second coming of Pryor. he was that good.
Wow the whole drummer analogy and trying to beat and outdo yourself was brilliant. I never really looked at it that way. Gotta love how if you want truth, forget the media, forget the doctors, forget the politicians and go see the comedians.
Thanks Kevin and Bill for making some history recorded shit we can always look back on as we mostly fail and maybe succeed in that random scenario we call life...
Nah he's unorthodox and can seem annoying at first but when you realise what he's doing after a few episodes you realise he's really good. Good research etc.
Yep and having amazing guests like Bill Burr doesn't hurt. If you wanna see a good one watch Antonio Esfandiari, kevin was great with him, and ofcourse Ricky Gervais etc etc.
@@fe5018 It's about the guest's experience. You can tell they are genuinely able to be themselves and they feel like they are talking to someone who genuinely cares and is interested in them because he did his homework and isn't running the conversation. You can tell he gets the best out of his guests. Consistently. They would come back. That's how you know it's good.
@@SandraLovesSun, I've never seen a guest who seemed to have a markedly different or positive experience though? There never seems to be any great rapport or connection or elevated experience. I don't think any are that much more themselves because of the show specifically (as opposed to it being the format). I don't ever get the impression he gets the best out of his guests, I think that's reflected in how little traction his interviews tend to get. In that regard, I think it's comparable to Larry King's stuff now, except Larry generates more "entertaining content". I think Kevin seems nice and I enjoy alot of the people he has one but in a myriad of ways I think the show falls very short of its potential.
BobCat That was sooo awkward. I watched earlier episodes and she's way chattier now and just jumping in with random asides like the Klondike bar story. I came here from the Ben Schwartz episode where she barely spoke. What happened?
Great end to the podcast. I’ve heard the Fidel Castro eyeglass story with the cigar, but didn’t know about blowing the smoke back through the cigar to refresh it. We’ll have to pass that one onto my brothers who smoke a lot more cigars than I do. I usually have one with the two of them once a yearwith the whiskey or tequila toast in honor of my dad.

Bill Burr is easily one of the best comics I've seen, so thanks, KPCS. Every week I keep waiting for a guest I don't like...hey, it's an American show, it should happen, right? Nope, they just keep gettin better

What a lot of comedians that are not funny yet don't realize is that the audience KNOWS what you are thinking before you say a word. The audience in a weird way already has an incite into what your energy is within 10 seconds and the more you THINK on front of them, the more they will pick up on your energy and know if you will be funny. Bill is so precious towards my mental health. Funny, smooth talker, and explicit. My man Bill Burr

Those 2 sidekicks fuck the whole rhythm of the conversation
They're awful.
The only video with Bill Burr that I just cant finish. This sucks balls
I can't wait for this trend of being genderless androids comes to an end already. Put on some makeup, lose some weight and shut your mouth already.
Marco Estiercol Yeah! And that fucking guy with his pretentious smirk face!
well one is the producer and Kevin's girlfriend, the other, yeah he should just not be there. his laugh is one mental breakdown short of turning into Goofy.
"I grew up with this. I don't know who you're imitating, but you're killing it." Ultimate compliment.
Just as they were about to get to "Better Call Saul", the cohost had to chime in about Klondike Bars and derail the whole conversation. Bravo.
Bill still crediting Patrice, love both guys so much. Great entertaining watch. & Rest in peace Patrice.
literal clowns
Just love Burr. And he was very gracious with the "co-hosts" as they drove the show into the dirt. I can only imagine what he was thinking, but he was very nice about it.
bill burr is the best stand up today
If there was a vid of Bill chatting with Louis, it would be the greatest vid on the Internet.

Always a pleasure to listen to Burr talk candidly. Jamie was adorable.
Bill Burr: "No, you need better friends... and parents."
seriously cant get enough of him. "its gonna be haaard." I cant stop doing that voice lol
Those fucking side kicks man
Great, thanks so much for having Bill on
I'm on a first name basis with Bill just FYI heh.
just sooo good. May have been the best KPCS i have seen to date. You are great Bill Burr.
Poor Bill Burr, fighting off that cancer. Stay Strong, Bill.

This is like trying to watch Louis C.K.'s appearance on the View.
He literally looks so damn different in every one of his specials and interviews.
I could watch 15 more hours of this...Thanks for the laughs!
The way Bill talks about Eddie Murphy is almost moving.

Bill Burr is probably the most underrated comic out today.
Not anymore.
Yeah probably 7 years ago but he made it big now
