  • Katie Ledecky set an NCAA championship meet record with a 15:07.70 in her 1650 freestyle win in 2017 as a freshman for Stanford. The six-time Olympian medalist would break her own meet record again one year later at 2018 NCAA championships.

She should have been allowed to swim against the men a few times a season in college. Would've given her an opportunity to practice racing, which she will have to do in the 200m free. The 400m and 800m she's just miles ahead, but the 200m is a much tougher race.

@Kelly Mojica Then they would have to let swimmers like simone manuel and riley swim th race guys. And if so why not put some guys in girls heats so they can practice being ahead of the field. lmao there’s no point in letting a woman “practice racing” in a men’s competition.

This comment didn't age well after the 2022 women's NCAAs LOL

@@jakem6720 yeah I didn't mean it literally ha what a messed up society we live in. Wish Ledecky didn't graduate so we could've watched her obliterate Lia Thomas at NCAA's though.

No one can be expected to perform exceptionally, during this lousy CV-19 pandemic, with it's ridiculous mandates. I'm sure her training has suffered, and mask wearing for a year now isn't doing anyone's health any good either. She is still an exceptional swimmer, with a huge future.
