Fabulous idea. I think I’d make my cushion/pillow cover removable for washing so would need to pre-wash my fabrics, especially if using linen, to prevent any possible shrinkage. Love this look and are so happy you shared your cushions/pillows with us all. 🥰🇦🇺
❤️I have a large collection of old linens and doilies. These pilliows are really cute! Just a note. Small thin doilies work great when stacking dishes/ China. Just place between plates, bowls, platters,ect. Helps buffer treasured pieces.
These are so very pretty. I think a lovely dark/red background would look good too and really show off the detail of the doilies. I have knitted a hemlock one in cobweb lace but I gifted it. Next time I might sew it to a background and hang it up.

They look beautiful and useful. Great idea.here in the UK the doilies from the thrift store sometimes have stains or marks. I find the best thing to clean them is Milton. Not sure if that is the trade name in the USA but it is what is used to disinfect baby feeding bottles and is a mild bleach. It doesn’t harm the delicate fibres of the doilies

I have done this with old embroidered linens, cutting out the "good" parts.
