      It depends on how much chicken you are thawing and where in the frige (the back is always colder). For one pound, about 24 hours, longer if the chicken is frozen in one big clump vs. less if individual pieces.

    Okay the freezer to fridge method does not work. Chicken might as well be ice

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  5 месяцев назад

      It depends on the temperature of your fridge.

  • @birbula4834

    the best way is to put in the below the freezer of your refrigerator its safe but very time consuming 😑

    Can I just leave the chicken breasts in the packaging when I put it in the fridge?

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you can thaw it out inside the packaging. I buy in bulk so I'm always dividing it up! 🤪

  • @Alextherock9

    What if you use an air fryer?

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  3 года назад

      Then you'd be cooking your chicken. You can cook the chicken in an airfryer but not frozen. Well, I guess you could but the bottom of airfryer will have a lot of liquid and it will take a bit of time. The internal temperature of the chicken breast must be cooked to 165F to be safe to eat.

  • @823Steve
    @823Steve 7 месяцев назад +1

    Air is a poor conductor of temperature and that is why it takes overnight to thaw. Water is a much better conductor for heating or cooling. Put your chicken in a pan or bowel of cold water and put it in the refrigerator. You can thank me later. 😅

    Seems to me the safest way to thaw chicken is the second method of putting chicken in cold water.

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  Год назад

      Refrigerator or cold water are both great options. Just depends how much time you have!

  • @haashk
    @haashk Год назад

    why cold water and not hot water? wouldn’t hit water be faster?

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  Год назад +1

      Faster isn't always safer. Hot water thaws food quickly, but it also raises the temperature past that critical 40-degree mark. Not only does bacteria start to grow, but the meat can start to cook before you want it to.

    • @MOMables

      It usually will tell you in the package. However, one large chicken breast is about 3/4lb.

    What if your microwave doesn’t have the defrost button?

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  2 года назад

      If it doesn’t have the defrost button, I’m not sure you’re able to change the power (reduce it by 50%). Then I would not recommend using it since it only cooks.
