I wish my gf would cook for me but she manages to cook toast the wrong way so I'm the chef of the house 😢 I miss my mums cooking.
For those who are saying you are over cooking the chicken: You have to just sear the chicken breast first on high heat and undercook it, then you finish it off in the pan when you simmer it for 10 min
Yeah there is no way those fat breasts were cooked through after a moderate sear on each side. No different to how cooking a steak works, searing it doesn't cook the middle unless you really overdo it. No one wants a medium rare chicken breast.
@@BlueZirnitra ya im just seeing comments on how the chicken is overcooked and I fear people aren't giving it the high heat and the sear quickly enough so it just ends up being almost fully cooked
@@gamersrevenge6528 sadly quite common I think. A lot of people are afraid of high heat because they think it will burn but low temp cooking is how you end up with flavourless, rubbery food.
@@BlueZirnitra well she didn’t seat at very high heat either… that’s why she left it around 5 min each side. I could tell by the color after that amount of time as well as the olive oil and butter not burning(they have a pretty low smoke point).
Even if it’s almost fully cooked it’s normal, that’s why she finishes it off in the sauce on a low simmer. That will guarantee it finishes cooking but still stays juicy.
@@Eduardo-ji1eh it wasn't a low heat, otherwise she wouldn't have got such a good result. You don't want to sear chicken breast on full burner so a good strong medium heat is what you want. What you don't want is to poach the chicken in its own juices and get no colour at all, which is a problem a lot of amateur cooks have because sizzling scares them.
We all understand why she simmered the meat in the sauce.
I made this on my wife birthday and now we divorced cause of this recipe . Thank u for saving my life 🥰🥰🥰

Hello
Hahaha, whaat?
Made this for supper yesterday. We really enjoyed this recipe and will make again. We did use spinach instead of parsley and I didn't have nutmeg so we left out, but really didn't miss it because it was good without it. (although might try with to see what difference it makes.) We put the onions in first to cook and added garlic after they cooked a bit to keep it from getting bitter.
We also doubled the recipe for the sauce as we love our "gravy".
To keep it low carb/keto friendly, we served over cauliflower rice and a side of green beans.
Thank you, Tammy! I'm really happy that you enjoyed it! Your customized recipe sounds yummy too:)
It's cool you enjoyed it but spinach isn't an herb so I'm curious as to why you used it in place of parsley?
Going cook tonight 😋🤗
@@LesEXO2012 I don't use parsley because I find it doesn't add much flavor to dishes (great for garnish though). I figured I'd use spinach as a green instead to add more nutrients while still adding color. :)
@@tammywilshire4170 Ah gotcha... I thought you were adding it as a replacement herb LOL Your reasoning makes more sense. Thanks for explaining 🙂
I'm a new cook and this was easy and incredibly delicious. My wife was amazed and I can't wait to make it again. Thank you!
Where is the seasoning?
I tried making this by adding ground paprika as the additional spice after salt and black pepper when cooking the chicken fillets; also sprinkling grated parmesan on the fillets before covering the pan at the last step, it’s soooo good.
Yummy

Thank you for sharing this simple and delicious chicken dish. Thanks to your recipe I was able to scale it down to 1/3 the portion as I cooked for only 1 person. Here are a few things I adjusted as I didn't have a few items and found alternatives. I feel drawn to share it here so others who may have questions can benefit from it.
I used:
> coconut cream 60ml - instead of whipped or heavy cream
> juice of 1 small lime - instead of lemon
> coriander - instead of parsley
I will definitely be making this dish again, and again. 💕
With these adjustments I would have Jasmine Rice also 👌👌

I make this with mushrooms and pork tenderloins instead. One of my favorites. Also, using a dry white wine (instead of a lemon) after the shallots have cooked and letting the alcohol cook out for a few minutes before adding the cream introduces the acidity of the lemon but with way more flavor.
Lastly, I find nutmeg to be way too overpowering so consider adding just a pinch or 1/8 teaspoon instead.
Cheers!

It does look tasty, but in Brazil, the basic of cooking any kind of meat is letting it rest for a few minutes in vinegar or lemon with minced garlic and onion and a bit of salt. You can add other powdered seasonings as well. But only then do we start cooking the meat, dumping everything in the pan. I think the dish would be even tastier that way.
