      Marly, i wonder if you have an example working this stitch on back and forth, flat, not on circular nedles., as back and forth introduces the pearl rows, thus the patern is over 8 rows. Do i understand it right. I would appreciate your wisdom, i am a beginner knitter. Thank you so very much.

    Great tutorial Marly! The stitch is lovely! I think I would prefer the dpns to close up the top. That being said I may try this way. Who knows?Thanks for sharing this technique! With us! The colors are gorgeous. Love the navy and white PomPom’s! Thanks again!

    • @MarlyBird

      I agree, I would have used the DPN's myself but I wanted to show how you can do it without if you must ;-)

      @theastewart6721 4 года назад +1

      Yes I know that’s why you did it and I appreciate it! It definitely would come in handy if I didn’t have any dpns around! I’m not very confident with dpns except when closing a hat. I need to make your other socks and face the fear, lol!😄

    In the pattern, it says how you need DPN's. But, it doesn't indicate what size you need. Can you please let me (us) know which size DPN's are needed for this beautiful hat?
    Thank You So Much,

    Hi Marley. Have you considered using 9” circulars?

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  4 года назад +1

      Yes. I’ve used them. My goal was to show how you could just use the needles you have in place and not have to use another tool :)

    Hello Marly can this stitch be used for a scarf? How would I start a scarf? #?

  • @curtriceennis2924
    @curtriceennis2924 3 года назад

    Sorry ... think I just figured it out. It means size 5 - not 5 needles. Is that correct? Thank You.

  • @littledodge5692
    @littledodge5692 4 года назад +1

    The problem with instructional videos with dips like this, is that it is super difficult to see exactly where the needle is going through because you can’t zoom in enough really see it. Also, when you stop stretching the knitting to insert your needle, everything contracts back and you lose sight of what’s happening. With any kind of a new stitch, I need to see it clearly or I just won’t do it. So this one is a pass for me, just out of sheer frustration of not being able to see it properly ahead of time.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  4 года назад

      I think when you encounter stitches like this you have to give it a try. You can count the stitches and rows to get to the right stitch where you’ll insert your needle. It’s really easier than you might think. :) I encourage you to give it a try 👌

    Hi, could you tell me how many rows/inches to do the k3 p2 ribbing for? Or is it personal preference. Thank you xx

  • @Yesim730
    @Yesim730 Год назад

    It’s too bad the tutorial doesn’t show the first row after the ribbing. It feels like a major step was missed. It might be straightforward but really difficult to tell by watching the video.
