The actor is amazing! I have hated Theon so much over the course of the show for his cowardly and selfish choices. I was crying so hard when he stood there and asked Sansa's permission to fight for Winterfell. That was such a powerful redemption moment for a character I didn't think could be redeemed. Beautiful💕

Plus the poor bastard was like un-mercilessly tortured for so long in a despicable manner, so now that he is a more changed man in a moral sense.. the scenes become more heartfelt.

Lucky for me I stumbled upon a sleeping giant, cut open her belly, and crawled right up inside her. Kept me warm enough, but the stink nearly done me. The worst thing was, when she woke up, she took me for her babe. Suckled me for three whole moons before I could get away! Heh heh. She is not turning into “the mad queen!”
Cersei has done what the mad king wanted to do - she is the mad queen.
Dany had a complete right to execute the slave who completely disobeyed her order to let the master have s trial; she has no responsibility to give mercy in that case - it would show weakness.
With the Tarlys as it was war & they betrayed their oath to their lord & Lady Olenna when he decided to be greedy for the promise of warden of the east.
She could have just told the soldiers to kill all instead of taking any prisoners during the battle.
Instead, she gave them the opportunity to live.
She has reacted appropriately to Sansa being a total witch to her since arriving in the North to fight for them and try to save them all, risking her own armies & dragons that she needs to attain her throne.
She has to have some leniency to be 1) surprised at Jons news,
      2) be skeptical if it’s authenticity with so many opposed to her rule & Jon giving up his crown, and
      3) stunning news that her love is not whom she thought he was and if he is, he might choose to take her whole purpose in life away from her.
Give her a few episodes to
      1)survive the coming attack, and
      2) decide what is to be done about it.
If she were the mad queen she would either have stabbed Jon right then or pulled her dragons and army out leaving him to die with the rest of the North.

What you have to remember about the scene with Dany and Jon at the end, is that this isn't just about who has the better claim - it's her entire identity. She's gone so long thinking that she's the last Targ only to suddenly find out that she's not and that she doesn't have the claim she thought she does. Everyone is so focused on the effect the revelation has on Jon's identity that they completely overlook how earth shattering this is for Dany too. It's not that she resents Jon for it, she loves him, as she has stated multiple times in this episode alone, but it's an inner battle between what she has believed to be true ever since her brother died, and what she now knows to be true (because she does believe him - you can see the moment she understands that, like she said earlier in this episode, Jon is true to his word and he wouldn't lie about this) and her love for Jon and how this obviously changes that (because he clearly pulled away from her and avoided her so how could she interpret that any differently in hindsight).

Well, there was officially confirmed meaning in it:
In a behind-the-scenes interview released after Sunday’s episode aired, Benioff and Weiss explained that that line harks back to a Season 1 exchange between Arya and her father, Ned. The late, great Stark once told his daughter that she’d be a lady of a castle one day ― that she’d marry a lord in a “nice frilly dress” ― to which Arya responded passionately: “No, that’s not me.”
“When she finally finds Nymeria again, or Nymeria finds her, and she of course wants her to come back home with her and be her loyal companion again, but Nymeria’s found her own life,” Benioff says.
“Arya’s not domesticated,” Weiss adds, and so it would make sense that Nymeria wouldn’t be either.
“Once the wolf walks away, at first she’s heartbroken to have come this close,” he says, “and then she realizes the wolf is doing exactly what she would do if she were that wolf.”
I'm not sure if we will see Nymeria again, maybe later, after it's all over; if Arya survives, settles down, maybe? I can't see her going that route, can't know.

The Throne is something that has been engrained into her identity from very early on, and that has turned out to be a lie. Daenerys had made her peace with being the heir to the throne, just like Jon had made his peace with being a bastard. Only to find out this is not true and to then have their identities upended. In the real story its very unlikely Jon will be able to have any claim. He will be an undead and the whole 7 kingdoms are not going to have fun with that. So….its also unlikely Dany will be at conflict with Jon. If she can take it that he came back from the dead, she will be cool with him. She will know Jon is not after any kingdom. But this will be the real story, if it ever comes around. Now, as for the show…..Dany is going everywhere and pretty inconsistent. Last episode she wanted to give Jon a Dragon to ride. Which…..should be something pretty awesome that only few Targs manage to do (and she has issues believing he is the blood of the dragon?). She also has only 2 dragons left and they should be the most precious she has. Much more precious then any Iron Throne. They are her kids. So…..if she was all cool with giving one to Jon….she should be pretty decided on team Jon. Also this episode she says to Sansa that she gave up the fight for the Iron Throne in order to come and fight Jon´s war. This is weird…...Dany is making no sense. If it´s Jon´s war….then she is not really understanding the issue and she is truly only there because she loves Jon. If she does understand the problem, then was she trying to fool Sansa??? Why not tell Sansa just to focus on that problem and see if they can survive that together??? Its like…..Dany above all has lost one of her children to the White Walkers. She should be the first to say: PEOPLE, WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT BUSINESS!!!! The show had introduced Dany to the Walkers. Last time she fought them she had 3 dragons and lost one. Now she is going to face them with 1 dragon on their side. Dany should be at least mildly concerned with that thing.

However she did say the kingdoms could ask fo their independence in the episode with the Greyjoys. Dany wants all the power and is not going to give any up. @@broncos81k69 actually had that come up with my peeps after this episode; when Tyrion told her that she shouldn't take Yara's offer because she'd demand the Iron Islands, Danaerys just said "she's asking, hardly demanding". She seemed to value a great deal the respect Yara brought, but Sansa... Well... Sansa didn't really ask anything, nor did she even demand; she just said "we've broken off, we're never coming back, the end"; in the middle of a conversation where Danaerys was trying to be open and was admittedly talking freely about her feelings because she wanted to bond with her.
Like, this conversation went exactly like this:
D: Hey, I sense we ain't friends, so I wanna open up a little with you so we can work this out
S: Yeah but I'm taking half of your kingdom away and there will be absolutely no compromise or debate about that.

One thing I wanted to mention was that even though Rhaegar is portrayed as a “good guy” in this show, he really wasn’t all that great when you consider what an incredibly shitty husband and father he was to his first family. His first wife Elia Martel was described as “beautiful, kind, charming and witty” as well as being “devoted to her husband”. And they already had two children together; the young princess Rhaenys and prince Aegon. Then he just leaves his wife and children to the whims of his insane and violent father, running off with Lyanna, who was only 15 years old at the time. And then has his marriage to Elia annulled which essentially means that he disinherited his first two children from ever taking the throne after him and basically made them “bastards”. And of course that’s all before they are all brutally murdered during the war. So no matter how good of a person Rhaegar was and how much he loved to give back to the realm, he was still a shitty person to his family and did really stupid things that eventually led to Robert’s Rebellion (or “The War of the Usurper”)

    • @jjh2456
      @jjh2456 2 года назад +1

Actually the children would not necessarily be disinherited. Because they were born whilst Rhaegar and Elia were still married Rhaenys and the other Aegon were considered true born even though their marriage was annulled.

I often wondered, silently, as I thought it would be shushed down- but what if the entirety of Game of Thrones, as a story, is really, simply just the Jamie Lannister Story? insane, yeah? it was super fun to hear someone, -anyone else give consideration to the story of Jamie, be it interweaved as it is. anyway, back to the show, and thanks for hosting a fun place for us to all hang out. cheers, guys!

Especially Alfie Allen as Theon. He was in the Top 3 actors of this whole series, I think.
