Hey do u notice playing Netflix thru the TV app plays well and has perfect colors and brightness/contrast but it has SOAP Opera effect.....I hate that....but if I play on console like ps5 or Xbox it looks kinda dark picture......what should I do?
Good video. Thanks. I'm still learning what all these settings do. I got a u8g 55 inch and I love it. I found Dolby IQ to be way too bright so I have it on Dolby custom until I learn more. I love android TV for VLC...I can connect my external HDs and play all my local media. Gaming looks amazing as well.
I just got this TV and it’s great. My only complaint is ATMOS is glitchy when using TV smart feature , Netflix. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I got tired of that so I use my Nvidia shield with no problem. I also encounter a sound delay when using my JBL 9.1 sound bar when directly having the PS5 hooked up to TV. I had to hook it up directly to the sound bar to get rid of the delay.
Me too, I had the same problem with the Sonos Arc SB and Vizio Elevate. The wireless delay for both also happens with my Sony XR X90K we have in our Family Room. For me its not a big deal as the picture and sound are amazing with the U8G combined with the Vizio Elevate. .
@JC how do you have it hooked up with the elevate? What is your setting? I just got the elevate but for some reason the elevate isn't detecting the atmos. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for posting this! I have the exact same problem with my 55" U8G - regarding the VUDU and Movie's anywhere not playing 4k content (apple tv quits). Disney and RUclips work perfectly. HBOMax seems to have a little trouble when I start 4k content but calms down after 20 seconds. I'm sure you're right - it's a software application problem.
I do not use the apps on the hdtv. I use a Nividea Sheild Pro and have no issues with Vudu. The up scaling is set to 4k on the Sheild and even when I watch a movie that is bluray quality the Sheild puts the 4k notice on the screen. I watched Pitch Black(and on Vudu)and for a older movie it looked really good.
@JoelsterG4K - have you noticed any audio lag in Dolby Atmos when running your Xbox to your Soundbar, assuming you're running Xbox->U8G->soundbar via arc? If I use the U8G TV's speakers, there's no lag at all, but as soon as I add the soundbar, there's a second delay.... only happens in Dolby Digital/Atmos, but stereo output sounds fine...

As a novice with the U8G, I’m searching Netflix for TV and Movies that give me the HDR modes on the U8G. I’m not seeing HDR picture modes at all like I’ve seen on another site that has several HDR picture modes. How do I find HDR content that enables these picture modes?

Hey bud. The consensus from PC mag, and other websites is that the native contrast ratio of the U8G is about 2,000 less than last years h9g. Same with local dimming. That's 5000:1 u8g vs 7000:1 on the H9G when dimmed down to 100 nits (most popular test). That's a 30% drop. PC magazine claims it's a 50% drop on their test. To top it off there's a semi-gloss finish this year. Is it really noticeable? I've heard the 3D effect that the H9G had, which so closely resembles oleds, is no longer there? I hope it's not true because I really want this TV.

I just can't see justifying spending hundreds and hundreds (500-700 dollars) more for a tv set. Best Buy shows nearly 7000 7 series sets being sold. I believe that says something positive for the lower priced tv's. It seems like all the fancy specs and catch phrase tech terms aren't all they stack up to be... Last year Hisense couldn't even get their updates correct... I don't have any issues with DSE, this TV is clean, the viewing angles are as usual from a VA panel, there is some blooming as well but overall the picture is amazing.

If I get a Dolby Atmos TV, then I want to play Atmos audio whenever possible. Wireless is out. But my problem with nearly every TV on the market, except for a few LG and Vizio TVs, is only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports - one being taken up by eARC. I have the XSX and new Apple TV 4k - both with HDMI 2.1. So something has to get sacrificed - either audio or video.
I just received my u8g. Does yours have backlight bleeding? When I turn off active dimming its way more apparent, like clouds across my screen. I'm probably going to get it replaced.

I bought this TV and I had to connect my series x direct to this TV and the TV to my home theater and now xbox series x says my HT doesn't support dts... Your movies look like soap opera TV. I know you said to each his own, but the "smooth" motion option is really a bad choice to me. If you think "Film" option is too juddery, you can choose "Custom" and adjust the judder setting.
No there is no ghosting issues, the tv works and looks great with either console, some people don't know how to set up the consoles and game mode properly.

Price is excellent. I think that is for a reason.. Because it's still budget besides all the 'features". There are things about this TV I just don't trust and I don't think it has as good of IQ as Sony or Samsung in LCD etc. It has many errors.
Pretty bad settings, smoothing is awful on this TV, Dolby IQ adds smoothing, that's the first thing everyone should turn off. But hey, to each their own. I was looking for some troubleshooting on the audio setup. Audio Output is constantly grayed and defaults to the TV speakers, my sound bar works with this TV only when the TV feels like it. People please do not buy this TV, is awful, AWFUL, I had problems with it since day 1.
The new Hisense U8G doesn’t like SLING. Will freeze the show, boot you back to the Home Screen or freeze the entire tv resulting in an unplug to fix issue. Attach a 4K Firestick and problem goes away but then the awesome color is affected. Also having an issue with my home theater…can not seem to get the speakers to work. Can only use tv speakers. Again, frustrating. Do I need to call Geeksquad? This is embarrassing!!

Could the Dolby Atmos sound issue be due to the "Dolby Atmos" option being turned off in the sound menu (see 9:37) ?
I just got this tv and it's phenomenal. The whole vudu app on the TV doesn't bother me, I stream all my media on my Xbox anyway

I love this TV and I just bought their h9f55 in in 2019 when it came out I upgraded for the gaming went with the 65 inch u8g for more dimming zones

Yes you have to watch HDR content to access HDR settings, Netflix should work or there are also RUclips videos with HDR support.

I don't have an average samsung tv but there is definitely a difference compared to tvs $400 dlls and below.

Every lcd tv has light bleed in some way but I currently use the U8G and it is very minimal, make sure to use local dimming.

That's not normal, we use Hulu and no issues, try uninstalling the App and install it again, hopefully that works.
I started having the same problems, just unplug the TV from power for around 1 minute, plug it back in and the problem is gone.

I don't know what blunder means but the problem with FALD not working with VRR still there, Hisense R&D department are working on a solution.
