    I'm REALLY digging your coverage of this TV. Due to buying a new TV end of this month and I'm torn between the U8G (UK) and the LG C1. Which would you suggest for quality and longevity based on your test?

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  3 года назад +3

      Thank you! Longevity scares me personally with an OLED and I don’t think they’re there yet as far as burn in resistance for those using the panel for long term viewing with static imagery (sports tickers, gaming, other items on screen that don’t move). I went with the Hisense due to the bright Quantum Dot display with 99% of the features as OLED has (Near OLED blacks, no burn in, dual HDMI 2.1 vs Quad HDMI 2.1; however, the Hisense is missing gaming in 120hz with Dolby Vision which the C1 just added). I’ve had great luck with the Hisense models thus far and with the cost savings comparatively you can buy a newer AVR, gaming console, surround sound package, or something else high ticket and still be within the same end investment as a C1. Much better bang for your buck to fill out your overall experience.

      Depends on your seating arrangement. 65 to me is the sweet spot when gaming from 10-14 feet away. I started gaming more on my 55” I use as a PC monitor and kind of hate it because I have to turn my head to look to either corner of the screen. I feel like an 85” from the same distance as my 65” would cause the same issues that actually in turn take me out of the gaming experience.

      With the latest software update, you should have the option for text clarity mode which will bring back the sharpness. Make sure you’re using port 3 or 4 on the back of the TV with an hdmi 2.1 cable. Aside from that you need to change the console settings to allow 120hz, set the hdmi settings to enhanced on your port, and lastly enable 120hz in each qualifying game. So with older games like The last of us 2 which came out on PS4 in its Options Screen, there is only an option for 30 or 60 FPS. I'm guessing it being an old er title it could not support 120 FPS. I haven't yet installed any PS5 games yet.

      I live in New Jersey, I think I discovered what the actual problem is, my ps5 was plugged to the astro mixamp analog converter that only supports 120hz while on 1080p, unfortunately I could not find one that supports 4k 120hz yet, so I got pick use the full audio quality of the astro a 40s mixamp and play at 4k60hz or use 120hz but not 100% of audio quality, quite a downside for a premium headset adapter.
      Honestly I didn't care about 120 hz, but games like ratchet and clank you can play on fidelity mode with Ray tracing best graphics at 40fps, and that helps a lot, I hope that become a trend and we have more fidelity mode using those extra 10 fps

      @@qwazyd0gg Thanks, I appreciate that! Very simple things I used to be able to do before I cannot do with this tv alone. Things such as turning the tv on/off, controlling RUclips or other streaming apps playback. These are all things I could easily do before via voice command to my Google home speaker and chromecast unit connected to my old tv so it’s hard to believe none of these functions work with the tv’s built in Google Assistant/Chromecast. Even more annoying is the fact that I can connect to RUclips and control the playback through my phone but when I do the TV remote no longer functions to control playback. Also the tv does recognize my voice command to turn tv on/off and responds as if it will turn the unit on/off yet nothing happens. All these errors combined lead me to the realization that I cannot use the built in features at all in the way I’d planned to which is very disappointing.

    I just got this TV yesterday and signed up to learn more about how to configure it. I know many PS5 games do not support 120 fps but there is one I do want to play named Knockout City that supposedly runs at 120. I enabled Enhanced HDMI, the TV automatically chooses 'hdr game' and I manually set the PS5 game presets to Performance Mode. Knockout City only continues to run at 60 fps. When I navigate to the Video Output section in the PS5 it says it supports 120hz at HDR and non-hdr content. What am I missing here to get the game to run at 120 fps for the PS5? I'll try to reinstall the game today but am out of ideas.

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  3 года назад +1

      Based on what I can find online, the 120hz update was recently released. You may have to remove the game and make sure you are downloading the PS5 version of the game as most games have two versions (PS4/ps5) and you may have the wrong version installed. As long as your settings say automatic under 120hz, then your TV and PlayStation knows it’s able to run at that frame rate. Let me know how you make out.
