Those barrels have only been in Las Vegas for a few months and we've owned them since Dec 2012. Back then we went to MGP and bought every 36% rye bourbon barrel they had. The maturation date on those is in February so they were about 10 months old and one of MGP's first 36% rye lay downs after taking over the Seagrams plant.The humidity is so low here that if they're around too long the evaporation is cringe worthy and the proof goes up so much they become over oaked.

Just bought 3 bottles of the Scotchdale at Costco. Fantastic whisky. Will make a great Christmas gift.
Champywamp if they don’t like it as a gift just break a bottle over their head. That’s worked wonders for us....

Hiya guys and tribe. Let me start by saying you guys are awesome and I really enjoy your videos. I’ve been going through all the vault videos and I got to the Glenfiddich 12 and you mention the difference in climates between Scotland and Texas and the affects on aging. Sorry if you’ve answered this before and I haven’t seen it yet but could a distillery in an environment with less extreme temperature changes like Scotland play with the temperatures in their warehouses to replicate the environment of someplace more extreme like Texas and get a similar result? Could a distillery in Texas do the same and replicate a more mild environment so they could age their product for longer? Lastly, are there any distilleries that have experimented with something like this?

Smoke Wagon, my local sells that stuff, I have three unopened bottles. Two of them were single barrel picks. I've been trying to figure out what that bottle is, you had one sitting in the old vault.

I would love to know what you guys think of "Seven Seals".
Its pretty new on the marked, already won a few awards, is affordable and most importantly: It's using a totally new way to let the whiskey mature. It takes less than 3 years to taste like other brands after 15 years and it is said to work without the classical casks.

There is Ireland is full of peat bogs, also there are some peated Irish whiskies just not as famous as the Scottish ones.

I would kill to have access to so many more whiskeys than I do, living in the UK is great for Scotch and Irish (which I can't stand) but terrible for bourbon which I love (and am trying to collect). Anyone fancy helping out a fellow whiskey drinks, by either posting me some bottles you can't get here (on my dime obviously) or I could send some Scotch that is rare in the states.
