On my second espace. You habe to be a real owner to know the issues, like the leaks frok uncleaned sunroof drains.. Or the special dash fault , or the electric handbrake issues. Renault has always had soft suspension making it more a cruiser than a hot hatch.. but you cant beat the room it has. Having a renault grand scenic, which has a lot of storage, better than the espace imo. And dropped down to a zafira... Which is unrefined, noisy and compact, like the touran which finish is poor lasting. The galaxy is a nicer sporty variant, but still lacks the space in fully occupied drives. Its a good compromise. But with fords duff gear box there should be caution when buying one of those. I got my second today drove home jalf way acorss the country and average mpg was 48.7. 2ltr manual. Im fairly sure the 2.2auto was better. But in town the mpg of the auto went down to 10.8mpg!! You cant beat having kids and teenages all together on a day out in one of these. Id dump the back seats if you can as they are some weight. Check everything works and take care of front end wear as these are big beasts and front loaded so tend to need care and attention. Anything else and then its going to be a mini bus or crew cab van. Group 26 insurance. £365 road tax..aka highway robbery.. Though looking at packed out small MPV 's with a smug look is fairly much worth it. Make sure the cambelt is done. Its not cheap

So refreshing these days.
The main spoiler for most people thinking of buying an Espace is the £695 road tax...
Iv got an 09reg
One 2.0dci the tax is only £380 I think it's the 2.2dci that is the more expensive one
I have a 3ltr 24v V6 in Spain road tax is around 150 euros a year....
@@PatrickThomas-n4r it's rip of Britain here 😢
Tax goes up to €1400 in Ireland for some of these models in 2008-9 then drop back down to €600. So plenty getting scrapped
@@carljames19872.2 I have is £394, probably v6 is a lot more.
Really? I don't like the shape 😅
Really, I like the distnctive shape in a sea of lookalike blandness. Each to their own.
