I wish this video was out two years ago 😭 i done replaced everything including solenoids before this lol. Something told me this was the simple fix to begin with
Can it cause the car losing power? My friends Lexus drives fine short distance but long distance starts to lose power to the point you hsve to pull over and let it " rest" to accelerate. Its running lean as well
It could do that if it’s clogged. Pressure builds up in the tank, and gasses aren’t circulating through the combustion cycle. Does the gas pump click when ever they try to pump gas under that condition?
@@AutoMotivate I think it does pump gas normally. I know for a fact an exhaust leak melted the evap cannister (assuming it's the same thing as the charcoal cannister)
@@xXlURMOMlXx it is the same! Since it needs to be replaced anyways, it’s a good place to start. They are relatively cheap anyways. I would buy some shielding tape and wrap the canister to prevent the Evap canister from melting up again.
@@AutoMotivate the car is rusted pretty bad and honestly not worth throwing money at it unless I know it will fix it. I've taken it to 2 shops and they have both refused to give me a solid diagnosis after taking their money. The only information we have is that there's an exhaust leak, running lean, and that the canister is toast
Bro. I own a cadillac cts 2015. It missfires and shakes violently the moment i start to fill gas. I know should be turning the car off when fuelng but still it shouldnt be missfiring. Also the pump nozzle keeps cutting off by itself. My solenoid valve and vent valves are all functioning well. I even did a smoke test on evap and had no leakages. Do you think its the cannister?
Hey man, I keep getting a tighten gas cap message. I replaced the Evap canister, vent valve, & purge solenoid. I even replaced the gas cap & I’m still getting this message. I was always having a hard time fueling at the pump. Right now I still have somewhat of a hard time, but not as bad. Any other ideas of what you think it can be?

Same here. The parts ain't cheap neither
How should we go about replacing the hoses? What size hoses should we use? Where to buy?

@@xXlURMOMlXx exhaust leak causes the running lean issue, however, that alone wouldn’t cause the loss of power.

Get a smoke test done on it. Best thing to do.

Kinked vent hose or kinked filler hose maybe
Can it cause a fuel smell only after shutting vehicle off?
It very well could. Does it ever sit in the garage? If so, if it smells like gas after sitting for a while as well, then this is the issue
