It just a series of scripted encounters found in the map. The one redeeming quality are the breathtaking graphics and the crazy numbers of handcrafted details. I don’t believe rdr2 will stand the test of time because what makes a game great is the depth of his gameplay. In comparison BotW was the first time in almost 25 years since I got my first genesis that I fought - this might actually be the best game ever made.

I agree that you cant compare these games. Yes, they are both open world games. But the developers of Zelda didn't even TRY to go for a realistic style, they went for a cartoon cell shade style (like windwaker). The developers of Red Dead Redemption tried to make the game as realistic as possible, and the developers of Zelda had other goals in mind. You can't fault them for not making a photorealistic game when they were not trying to do that in the first place. That's like saying that Cuphead or Journey aren't realistic. If you really prefer photorealistic games, then choose playstation or PC for gaming; everyone knows that, no one is trying to say that the Switch can compete in terms of graphics. But people who love Zelda believe that there is much more to games than just photorealistic graphics. Zelda is better than a lot of games with much better graphics because its game design (not graphic design) is so much better. It has real character, and it is fun. Graphics isnt everything. But if you disagree, that's perfectly fine; just keep playing playstation or PC. Not all people have to like the same things.

Then again breath of the wild seems to be slightly more detailed a tad but the physics on Red Dead 1 are elite.
