@Mr. Davenport For me the father was rather unaware how creepy his children are, and the children love him as this is probably the only type of father they wouldn't kill (the unaware and blindly loving/accepting). And also the way the twins are dressed may suggest that the father (parensts) are also kind of creepy.

I would choose being super nice and pretending nothing weird is going on, I don't know about anything creepy, just a regular lovely kids, plus not seeing anything they're doing would be my plan not to anger them. Oh and for sure I would fix a lot of toasts with mustard and I wouldn't be stingy with the mustard.

Krasinski playing the “kids will be kids haha” straight-faced dad role really drives this thing home. Best skit of the night, hands down.
As we know from The Office, Krasinski is the master of the deadpan.
It's one of the best sketches of the entire season, actually, if not *the* best. It's for sure an instant classic.

Super late to comment on this, but his deadpan really kept it from diving straight into absolute absurdity and kept that hint of unsettling realism. Totally normal dad, not stressed, about his super freak children who probably ate his wife.

I mean Krasinski got the most time to explain the Reddit position and defend it, and they kinda made Bennett's character look like a bitch when defending the Wall Street position. It was pretty accurate, Cecily called it a short squeeze which is what it was, and from there it was just a backdrop for the creepy twin shit.
95% no 99.9% of the crowd that watches the super woke bullshit snl pushes now don't have a clue about the gamestop 'stick it to wall steet" event.
They live for virtue signaling trying to pass itself off as comedy and most likely were for wall street because the supporters of the 'orange man bad' may have been involved.

I disagree this sketch is base off of real events that happened just last week, the drawings an sculpture is not the true painting they heard about from the twin of the people it was base off of but probably just as weird an frightening

I just love how John is being a normal dad... like he doesn’t see anything wrong with his kids and saying things like “come on, daddy’s working” or “say goodbye say kiss kiss” he’s really being normal and I can’t 😂😂😂
I kid you not, those twins remind me A LOT of our IT managers kids! 😲 Every time we have a corporate zoom meeting, his kids just appear. They are so creepy that I started minimizing the window and just listen to the meetings so I avoid seeing them. (Seriously!)

The best part of this is when Krasinski shifts over to reveal the painting. It was just a perfect, subtle move that took the sketch in a direction I wasn't expecting.
Mikey Day doesn't get enough respect for being an awesome utility player on SNL. He plays both balanced characters and heightened characters with aplomb.

This skit isn't new but I loved watching it. John Krasinski is an underrated comic. He and Emily Blunt both have great senses of humor. This is probably one of my all-time favorite SNL skits.
At least we know that "The Beth" and "The Barbara" completed their mission, their kind is saved and the world engine has restarted.
