I disagree, I mean I think when she played herself, she was kinda forcing it too much. It didn't feel 100% Kate Mckinnon. Normal Kate McKinnon wouldn't act that way, the mimics resemble, so I applaud Kate Mckinnon for the talent, but it wasn't enough for a Kate Mckinnon.

Wow. What a biased take on the GameStop situation. This is what happens when too many people short the same stock. Not just GameStop. Short squeezes have been happening for close to a hundred years. As long as people have been able to short stocks, there have been short squeezes.
Next to the idea that companies are worth Close to their Book value is crazy. Investors always consider the future value of a company. A company can be losing money today and tomorrow But investors can see that it's going to be enormously profitable in a few years. No one was complaining when Amazon was going through the roof while losing money year after year.
Just as a note I did not make any money profiting off of shorting any stock. I'm too conservative for that . But it was fair. What was unfair was The Brokerage is blocking long Small from buying and selling the stock. They did not prevent large investors from continuing to trade the stock.
The stock market Work correctly in this situation. However it was not working already when we allowed shorts Too Short more stock than the company had. Naked shorting should be illegal and shorting A share of stock that's already been shorted should also be illegal.

I get the point they were trying to make but the frontline workers in most cities are actually passing on getting the vaccine by half or more so I'm sure people will be able to get the vaccine very soon because they're gonna end up overproducing it. The demand is lower than the supply so far. Republicans don't really think the virus is a big deal and the Democrats don't trust it's rush to production w/out long term testing. This idea of getting 100 million vaccines distributed in 100 days would shock me more that the vaccines were actually used more than them actually making & spreading 100 million doses.

Cecily Strong does the best impersonations on this show, hands down. I know we wanna say Kate on this but Cecily fine-tunes her performances down to like, diphthongs and nuances of how people speak; also she just nails these psycho RW women so perfectly ;)

Cecily is great at finding the delicate balance of representing these roles truthfully while embracing their odd behaviors, voice and energy. MTG was similar to Melissa Carone the election fraud witness in December, and I want to see Cecily portray the insurrectionist realitor from Texas who is crowdfunding to pay for travel expenses now that she lost her job. Cecily has taught me there's a renegade rich blonde MAGA lady characters that exude strength through blatant ignorance & brash statements

@@georockstar09 I'd definitely be pissed. It hits home especially, for those who were present in the city or neighboring boroughs like myself. Hell, I think Pete Davidson's father passed in the city. I know snl gives zero fks but, they have to see these scripts before they do these skits.

They aren't laughing at 9/11 happening... but at the person who is so dumb/bold/uniformed/whatever to suggest that it didn't. 9/11 isn't the punchline... the clueless person is. Also, how could SNL not see the scripts when they literally write them?

Also represents a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation at hand. The Reddit investors behind this situation don't care about the company's valuation, they care about destroying the hedge fund that was profiting from driving GameStop into the ground. They know the company isn't really worth much, but they saw an opportunity to stick it to the same 1%ers that destroyed the market in 2008 and got away with it.

@@SeanFinucane so...you're just going to ignore the fact that Gamestop got rid of their debts & created a bunch of equity, because of this increase? Stock valuation is not just in the market, the company is legitimately doing better because of it. Their ledger strategy is available.
@@SeanFinucane This is the main thing I hate about what's happening, people who don't know how to value stocks now think that there is no limit to stock valuations. No sympathy for the hedge funds here, but they and the algos are making money off of both sides of the stock price... the shorting is just a hedge for their long position for many of them.
