  • I can't stand the sight of an aquarium standing on the floor and thus the ropefish jungle needed a new stand. I decided to go for a fancy design. Enjoy the video and let me know if you have any questions.

Although aquarium stands may seem difficult to make it's actually pretty easy! Have you ever built your own stand? if not what's holding you back?

This is a nice change from all the bulky, and usually overkill, 2x4 stands you see on youtube. But still achievable by an average person without much woodworking experience. I like it!

I need to learn carpentry to build my tank's stands which are very heavy (75 and 125 gallons) because sometimes or most of the times they are even expensier than the tanks. Again, I like a lot that 1940's look that you get with that shadow of brown..good job

Building stands is much easier than in looks! Even tho I’m using all sorts of power tools it’s absolutely possible to build a quality stand with only a hand saw and drill. One piece of advice I’d like to give to anyone who wants to build their first stand is to double, no, triple check each and every corner to make sure everything is nice and square. Also make sure you don’t rush the build, this stand took me two afternoons to build and another to stain and varnish. I wish you good luck building the stand and make sure to send me a picture over on instagram once it’s finished. I’d love to see what you create!
