Midwesterner here with a southern accent, I am learning from your videos by listening closely. I have no problem with your accent at all. Thanks for the helpful advice!
Awesome, my friend! Thanks a lot!
My native language is German and I understand every word - no worries 😉
Looks like a Martin John Mayer OM signature guitar? Sounds great! My buddy has one and the first time I played it I couldn’t believe how thin the neck was compared to my Martin 000!
Great lesson! And great accent. It’s one of the reasons I love your channel.
Aw cheers mate! Mucho appreciated
I love your accent, and having just got back to London after my first time working in Scotland love it even more! It's one of the reasons why I watch your videos. The main one is after many years your lessons have opened up my playing when ive been stuck in a rutt
Aww man, really appreciate that mate. Makes me happy to know folk like yourself enjoy the lessons 🤘
As always, thank you for your time!!!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching, my friend!
I absolutely love your mini lessons like this. So much easier to grasp in small chunks. The chord progression alone impressed me! The hammer on double stops reminds me of Hendrix. Love it

@RBZ3 Sorry, I can't understand you because of your Canadian accent. 😄
Love the lessons. Like the hats, too. Where do you get them? I guess I'm into the flat caps from the UK.
Love that accent, love to copy it when speaking English! 😊 Been in Scotland three times up to now, such a nice country, wonderful people up there! The hymn of our football club here in Cologne, the 1. FC Köln, has the melody of "Loch Lomond" - always gives you goosebumps! Keep on rocking, Tony! Great lessons you give here! Greetings from Germany!
Danke schön for the kind words! How cool that your football club's hymn has the melody of "Loch Lomond"! That song does have a way of stirring emotions. Keep on rockin' in Cologne, and greetings right back to you from Scotland!
You play Gaelic Football? Fun!
i'm American and we don't call other places' football that.
I'm not saying that to be mean. I've got irish, british, scottish family history. it's hard to get dead pan in text like this but it's there.
Jeez, thought you were going to break out into St Tropez for a minute there. One of my favourite Pink Floyd tracks. Sounds great.
Haha, thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m Italian, use to struggle with British accent but easily understand 99.7 percent of what you say 😊God bless Scots!
Haha that’s good to know my friend!
Great content brother! The accent isn't an issue at all. It makes it easier to watch and follow along. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot, brother!
I think you're fine to understand! I think there will always be people who will complain about something. Your video content is golden, and it's helped to push my music further, and your style of teaching and playing is well needed i think
Wow, thank you for the incredibly kind words! Great encouragement, my friend!
Great vid, giving the technique a try now on my epiphone!
Awesome! Have fun, my friend!
I've been practicing these pentatonic scales for weeks, now I finally have a way to make music with them.
That's fantastic! Keep up the great work, my friend!
As a person new to guitar I really appreciate the tips and tricks Tony teaches. BTW, I understand everything he says, no problem.
That's awesome, my friend! Keep rocking, and thanks for the support! 👍
You’re super easy to understand friend. Absolute awesome accent. Wish I still had mine 😢

Awesome! Thanks for the love! Really appreciate it!
I first noticed your "Sweet Home Alabama" version of the G-chord back in the '90s in "December" by Collective Soul. Since then, I always play the G-chord like this.
That's awesome! thank you!
Nothing wrong with the accent mate. (I've watched all the Rab C. Nesbitt series). I once went to Wick, admittedly I was struggling a bit to understand people there but it was a great experience all the same. Thanks for the guitar lesson.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, mate! Really glad you enjoyed the lesson! Cheers to that!
Easy to understand. Great tip. Is that a Faith 6 string Guitars in the background? I have the 12 string version. Do you do 12 string tips?
Yeah it’s a Faith Naked Venus. Lovely! Not played a 12 string in a long time! I learned on my Dads 12 string which was murder on the fingers 😂
American here! I understand you perfectly fine dude! Love the video, thanks a ton
Thanks a bunch, man! Keep on rocking!
@@GuitarME that's the goal 😎 I picked it up last year before my birthday, at the age of 25, I'm turning 27 next week, and I'm very thankful I've found your videos. Gives me just that little extra bit of inspiration when Im not sure what to practice next.
Have yourself a great week!
The riff reminds me of Lindisfarne’s “Fog on the Tyne”.
I think the accent got me hooked 😅 awesome stuff, bro..
Haha, thanks, bro!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Cheers from across the border! I'm glad I could help you level up your skills.
All accents are great, it's just added flavor. The world would be quite dull without them.
I agree! Cheers matey
I'm 72 years old an almost deaf in my left ear and I understand you with no problem.

@ 6:09 you’re on frets 7-8-9, I’m hearing a sort of “Wind Cries Mary” tone/riff.
Hey Tony,

For me - as a german - the rolling R is completely normal 😁
Thanks a lot for the kind words and for tuning in to the lessons! I'm glad you're enjoying them. Thanks again for your support, my friend!
Greetings from Frankfurt/Germany.

Thanks, man!
Picture this: an light plane with 2 occupants is flying over a pasture and running out of fuel . The pilot says, I can’t land! There’s booze!Booze! There’s booze on the grind!”… one of my favorite movie lines. Uttered with a strong Irish accent, accompanied by an arial shot of bulls, on the ground. Now this was done humorously for the movie with a character responding “booze on the grind!? What the??? “ point being that sometimes pronunciation CAN lead to misunderstanding… but lets be real here. I have never once had to rewind your vids to figure out what you’re saying. You speak perfectly intelligible English, and frankly, your accent is one of the reasons I tune in to your vids more often than others. Well, that and all these nifty guitar tricks you’re turning me onto! Keep it up, Tony
Haha, that movie scene sounds like a riot! 🤣 I appreciate your kind words, my friend! I'm glad you find my lessons easy to follow. And I'm thrilled to be sharing some guitar tricks with you! Thanks for the support, and let's keep the music rolling! 🎸
Stupid me thinking youse werz a fleeping Oirishmon!!!Smashing lessons mate!
Haha easy mistake :) thanks mate!
❤❤❤❤
The only language we need to understand is the ones your playing with your fingers Tony cheers for the lessons
Haha, that's the spirit! Thanks, man!
There is nothing wrong with your accent, I'm from Glasgow and can understand you just fine!
Haha good to know mate!
Grateful Dead - Ripple is a good example of this.
Don't bother with people who say they don't understand you - any native speaker who can't understand you after a few minutes probably has pretty bad hearing and should reconsider if they're suited to be a musician at all. I'm a second language speaker myself, have never been anywhere in the English-speaking world other than southern England, and I have no problem understanding you. Great channel, I really appreciate your approach to teaching.
Haha I don’t to be honest, most stuff is just banter and I take it as that. One guy emailed me offering me accent correcting lessons 😂 you just have to laugh. Thanks man, really appreciate that!
I understand everything you say
Cool! Thanks, man!
Groovy Baby 10-4 Northern USA Pray For Peace Take Care
Lol keep the accent and keep doing what you're doing. I love your lessons.
Haha, will do! Glad you're enjoying the lessons. Thanks for the support!

Haha, glad to hear it's all clear! I'll keep 'em coming, mate, no worries. Cheers!

Your accent is awesome.
Wow, thanks, man! Very much appreciated!
I love your accent ❤
Thanks for the love! Really appreciate the support!
The only problem I have with your pronunciation (notice I avoided 'accent') is that it makes me put away my bourbon for a single malt😉. Great guitar lesson!
Haha, I love it! 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed the guitar lesson. Thanks for the feedback!
Sounds great Tony, many thanks, and don't try to disguise that lovely Scottish accent!
Haha cheers man!
Haha thanks man
Even here in Finland i can understand You without problems 🤠🇫🇮

Haha g’day mate!
Great accent Tony.I get the same c**p with my Dublin accent.Great lesson by the way.😂👍🎸🎼
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed the lesson!
Quite strange as I play chords all over the neck ,but I could never get the hang of open G .So I use a cheat G by angling my thumb over the 6 and 5th strings to do open G .it works but obviously not correct .
I can understand you just fine because I've listened to Billy Connolly over the past few years. His accent is a little different from yours but similar too.
That's fantastic! Thanks you!
Love the Scottish accent ❤
Aw, thank you!
IN ENGLAND IT TOOK A WEEK TO FIGURE OUT LORRY WASNT A WELL KNOWN CHIC WITH A STD.ONCE IN A WHILE SOMEONE WOULD SAY WATCH OUT FOR THE LORRY.I WAS BORN HERE,AND I GET YOU.DONT WORRY,MATE AINT WORTH IT, PLAY ON! THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORT,GOD BLESS!
I don't find you hard to understand at all and I'm from Arizona.
The accent is charming. Screw the haters.
Omg!!! srsly bro 😮
It would be very helpful either to do it slowly showing each finger you use or provide the tabs directly in the video. I seem to be missing one note that I can’t see your fingers making and it’s not just the slide to seven and then 5 to 7 to 5/ on the 5th string.
Check the comments and description for video with TAB 😊
I understand you completely. Not sure how someone cannot understand you. They probably don't have an ear for music either. 😂
Cool! Thanks, man!
3:00 shows you what he is teaching
