    I learned on the traditional 6 pack steam gauges in the mid-'80s and avionics have totally changed the world of aviation. Very nice panel, and the 182 is a very utilitarian airplane, but I have my sights set on a G36. Great video ladies, thank you for sharing.

    Flying my 1965 C182H never disappoints. Still, my eyes glisten just a bit when I view your new aircraft demo videos. Best of all though, flying a still-in-production legacy aircraft I’m more convinced I made the right choice. Keep up showcasing the brand.

      @@petermitchell7607 Thanks for the reply Peter, I'm aware of the full autopilot and the fact that certain aircraft models are able to do a full autolanding. But takeoff is always manual and autolanding is not really 200% reliable. Well you know what I'm talking about since you are an experienced pilot. So my question was about the full experience in autopilot. I know that they are working on it but what are your feelings about this upcoming technology? The thing I'm also eager to understand is the fact that there is still, at this age, "manual" communication between the tower and the pilot. There is enough knowledge to run all the information directly to the aircraft. Do you agree? Have a great day and take care 😉👍

    Currently doing the Garmin mod with the 10" and 2- 7" . Making the panel from raw stock aluminum however I'm running into new fastener hole locations since the 182 has a sloped instrument panel. The is a 1.2" difference between pilot and co-pilot side. Where the 175 and the 172 are flat and much easier to figure out. HELP!!!

    If only the plane itself were updated. It’s a great design for the 50’s or 60’s. Poor crashworthiness, fire trap, stall behavior is outdated, cable controls, lousy fuel efficiency, it goes on and on. I’m very disappointed with Cessna and the way their pilot center network has been allowed to deteriorate. They are the company most identified with GA, they really need to take more responsibility for the state of the industry.
    Perhaps they should refresh the rest of the offering like they seem to have refreshed their sales force.

    • @Superxpninja
      @Superxpninja 4 года назад

      It's probably hard to justify all the research and development and risk of a new airframe for the GA market, when they have to sell these designs from the 60s and 70s for such an astronomical price. If they did build something new, they'd need some kind of assurance that itll have value as a trainer.

    • @nunyabidness3075
      @nunyabidness3075 4 года назад +2

      Superxpninja, It’s also hard for anyone else to justify a competitive plane when Cessna can offer a grandfathered design for so much less, and that is part of what is killing GA.
      Also, I think just about any manufacturer would love your sort of assurance, but only in totalitarian states is there anything close forthcoming. You gotta put your big boy pants on and make a new product to grow the company.
      You would hope Cessna could build a plane to meet the specs, but maybe not. If you look at the numbers, the DA40 is the plane that can replace both the 172 and 182 except it’s not high wing. It’s also now a 20 year old design that could now be made lighter for more useful load. If Cessna were still a real aviation company they should be able to build a new plane to replace both the 172 and 182 so it has the volume to keep the price down. Likely, you could use most of the fuse parts with different engine and wing to compete with Cirrus and Mooney for the fast plane market as well.

      @@nunyabidness3075 I dont disagree at all, I was merely stating that that is probably the Internal issue at textron

    • @Superxpninja
      @Superxpninja 4 года назад

      @@nunyabidness3075 I think what is really needed is an affordable airplane that someone in the upper middle class could reasonably buy and still own a house.

    • @nunyabidness3075
      @nunyabidness3075 4 года назад

      Superxpninja, yeah, it’s just a big deal to me. I’m about done with flying, and I hate to see GA dying with me. Cessna should have put out a new plane 20 years ago when the forecast looked better. I’m so disappointed with Textron - Cessna. This ain’t the spatula business. If they don’t care, could they please leave?
