Rich, I'm one of the non-pilot viewers (subscriber) that you mentioned and watch all of your videos. It's my Saturday morning routine. I have always been interested and fascinated in aviation but have never taken steps to pursue a license for various reasons. I have many friends and family members who do fly which is probably as close as I'll get. Thanks for the excellent videos and content.

Same here, Rich. Into my forties, and looking at getting my RPL. Only reason I didn't start sooner is being short-statured and requiring pedal extensions for the rudders. Looking at flight schools in Australia that help people with disability to fly. Thanks for your channel, Rich!

Fullerton Municipal had a Flight Service station in 1972 when I was working on my private. I remember going there for weather briefs and sometimes to just hang out. Lots of history back then but I know I'm a better pilot for having learned to safely operate out of that field.
Thanks Rich! Another well produced video!

This is a great follow up to the A36 video you put out the other day. Two really great family haulers. Your comments about Cessna not producing much, was spot on. Cessna not spitting out aircraft like they use to isn’t a bad thing in my mind, we are lucky to live in a time where there are a whole lot of great options in the single piston market. Cessna scaling back production just makes sense.

    • @FlyingwithRich

@@FlyingwithRich You nailed it in the video, we need to get more people flying. More flyers typically equals more owners. I think a lot of people are overwhelmed by the idea of getting a PPL so they never try which is really unfortunate. There is a whole section of society they are missing out on. I’d like to see more videos like this from you, highlighting the ability to take a short hop and grab a bite to eat. Sort of the RUclips version of the $100 hamburger.

Nice treat. Fullerton Airport was the home airport for my Dad and his other pilot buddies. I was working at Ford Electronics (commonwealth & dale) back in the 80s and a self-described “Hangar rat”. I’d catch rides with many pilots who just wanted some company and out for a fun flight. • @FlyingwithRich

I think you have to put in a different variant of the Lycoming 540 to get 260HP (not sure available for turbo) at 2700 RPM. Older 182s can get upgrades to the Continental 550 for 300HP which I really like. We’re doing one now so will have some videos coming on it soon.

Hi, First, I must outline that I enjoy watching your video, all your videos. Informative and inspiring! My question is: since a brand new (2023) 182T will cost little more than 700K $ or 770K $ as you mentioned, isn’t this 2013 aircraft quite expensive at 610K? Ok for very low AFTT but a 10 years (almost 12) motor! I don’t know at what price this aircraft was paid and if it is significative!

    • @FlyingwithRich
      @FlyingwithRich  Год назад

Thanks for the message. It sold at a price very close to asking price so in my opinion that’s the market. We can come up with all kinds of ways to value or de-value airplanes but the real value is what someone will pay and the other will sell. You can’t get a new T182T for a while so that drives used prices up too.

I can’t afford the 182, I am in a 50 year old Arrow II but I would love someone to come up with an airport restaurant data base and rating system.

I don’t think you could wrong either way. Older 182 with some upgrades are a great value. Thanks for watching!

I had a 2004 182T, first year with G1000. NOTHING has changed.....except the price has doubled. No improvements, sadly.
Overall, it is a great platform but the value is questionable. At least for me.

Great airport, however the flight schools at KFUL are not so great. To Bad the old flight school that was good closed down. Now they have two flight schools that are an absolute joke.

Well over half a million for a nice 182, and what, 1.5 million for a new Baron? Unless you're a corporation, who can do this?? And you haven't even reached turbine status with either........

The RPM indicator on a twin engine airplane has two needles which is plural - RPM for one engine, RPMs for two engines.

@@FlyingwithRich nonsense. The plural part is revolutions. More gauges and more engines doesn't change that
