Lol. The name derives from the original purpose of the compartment, to store driving gloves. They were sometimes in a box on the floorboard near the driver, hence the word "glovebox".

That is a strange place to put it? But, thankfully you have one. I have a 2011 Subaru Legacy and found the AUX between the seats in the center console. I can now control all my Apple music from my steering wheel sound system controls. I think we both love our music! Peace!

I think you would have an actual Bluetooth audio connect option to connect through phone.
Might be hidden in the hidden engineering folder.
The Bluetooth is only used for answering and make phone calls unfortunately. 😭
