Personally, my favorite song is Ashes of Eden. Not a heavy or hard song my any stretch of the imagination, however its probably the best showcase of Bens vocals. Other than that, it's going to be between Diary of Jane or Dance with the Devil
Breaking Benjamin is a legendary band that deserve nothing else than respect. One of the best in they time and they genre. Also, this song is a solid banger. Can't wait for an album!
BB is the band that got me into metal music. Ive obviously delved deeper into many metal subgenres since then, and even though I dont listen to them as much as I used to, BB will always be a special band to me. Got me through alot of hard times in my life. Could not be happier that they are back.
BB was my gateway to heavier music, as they were for a LOT of people. Nik put it perfectly “they are the heaviest band that aren’t meant to be heavy.” The low tunings, the occasional scream, the chugs. Everything got cemented at an extremely early age. They’ve been an all time favorite for me for as long as I can remember and I still blast their stuff regularly even if I still love my blasts. It’s nostalgic, it takes me back to younger and simpler times.
I grew up with them since middle school, and they’ve always been solid. Do they push the envelope all the time, nope. Are they consistent and do they write solid music? Oh yeah! Can’t wait to do a drum cover of this song!
Breaking Benjamin was one of the bands that got me into metal and will always have a special place in my heart for it. Listen to them to this day, ever since Phobia.
I'll give you my favorite BB songs of each of their albums because I simply can't pick a single one that is above all. This will be hard enough as is. Saturate: Sugarcoat We Are Not Alone: Breakdown Phobia: Had Enough Dear Agony: Hopeless Dark Before Dawn: Close To Heaven Ember: Blood But really nearly every song they put out is amazing.
this is exactly the song i would listen to on repeat year 2010 or so, damn i remember when i heard diary of jane for the first time. Epic memories from them and other bands of that era
The new elements is you don’t always get a guitar solo with their music. This is nostalgic, the huge sounding choruses they produce, but the heaviness comes from their last album Ember from 6 years ago. If you enjoyed this song you should really dive into their catalog, there’s fantastic songs in their ENTIRE discography
This song is such a nostalgia trip and makes me so happy. I'm glad see that Ben's recovery is going well, he's coming back to singing those gorgeous rich vocals he's known for and the layering on this song is just... *happy fangirl squeak*. The last portion of the song where we get the scream and the clean layered - look, if this shows up on a video game OST somewhere, I wouldn't be surprised. *Looks at Halo* I'm just so happy to hear them creating music again. If you want to go check out songs like "Dance with the Devil", "Angels Fall", "Rain" - and the version of "Medicate" on the Saturate album, do not be surprised if you just end up binging every album because it's great music for brainstorming and storytelling.
Breaking Benjamin is a fantastic band and they're the reason I got into rock and metal. I've so much love and nostalgia for these guys, and whilst they're not reinventing the wheel with their music, I've found them to be consistently solid throughout the years. I also had the privilege of seeing them live at Download Festival 2016, and that's something I'll never forget. If I had to pick a favourite BB song it'd have to be Firefly, as that's the song that got me into them.
I’m so glad they’re back and this song is so then. It’s the sound we fell in love with and they brought it back to us. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it lol
Breaking Benjamin now has Red's ex guitarist, and they've always been criminally underrated in my opinion. Makes perfect sense as to why they'd have some heavier leaning guitars in this. I thought it was pretty good myself
Wasn't expecting Birb to react to BB. Biiig. BB is a band I will always enjoy. Been listening to them since I was a kid. This track is another solid banger from them. I believe their heaviest song is Red Cold River from Embers which is a banger album.
It's a very good song, and it fits with the rest of the discography very well. Breaking Benjamin is a band that doesn't mess with their sound much, and they're very consistent with the quality as well. A few songs that I you might consider checking out are Waiting On The Sky To Change (collaboration with Starset), Red Cold River, Failure (I prefer the Aurora/acoustic version with Red, but you can't go wrong either), Firefly, Breath, and Unknown Soldier.
I am one of those fans that have been there since 2002’a “Saturate” and their sound overtime, while not groundbreaking, has evolved in small baby steps. This track drew me back in to the days of being young with ambitions and this track rears its’ head to give me that certain hope. To me, based off my experience over the years, the track is a solid 9/10 for myself.
I don’t listen to them much but i never skip when one of their songs come on ❤ Not one of my absolute favs but I do enjoy them, including this new song
My second favorite band ever, got into them after their first album came out in 2003 and been a fan ever since. They never miss. As far as my favorite BB song, thats a toughie. Id go with "Never Again."
Been waiting for this one. Breaking Benjamin was my Linkin Park growing up. They will always have a special place in my heart and this made me a little emotional to hear them again. ❤️
As a big BB i appreciate the review and i agree with you. I said its fine, its cool but its not my favorite BB song and for some reason I'm getting ripped apart for that take 😂
I love BB. They get a lot of shit from the hardcore guys for being “too pop but trying to sound hard”. Seriously, you listen to “devil wing, Demon spit. Bloody pussy empty soul raaaaaawr” Don’t be lame 🤣
I was really into this band when I was younger, probably until whatever album came after Phobia. When I saw a new single, I was pretty excited to see something new, then really disappointed to find that this is not new at all. The dude has genuinely been making the same song over and over for more than twenty years now. Same structure, same length, same lyrics. I wanted to like it, but a couple of listens in and I'm already just bored of it.
What is Breaking Benjamin's best song in your opinion?
Edit: Sorry for the background music being too loud during the review
This is easily up there with the very best of Breaking Benjamin - I've loved this band for years, such a distinctive sound!
Crawl
Personally, my favorite song is Ashes of Eden. Not a heavy or hard song my any stretch of the imagination, however its probably the best showcase of Bens vocals. Other than that, it's going to be between Diary of Jane or Dance with the Devil
Blood for me
Away. Never understood why that song didn’t blow up.
Breaking Benjamin is a legendary band that deserve nothing else than respect. One of the best in they time and they genre. Also, this song is a solid banger. Can't wait for an album!
their, but yes 🙂↕️
I don't listen to the band but I've never heard someone talk down on this band
As a long time Breaking Benjamin fan this was the unbiased reaction I was looking for!
inb4 new fans saying "this sounds like Motionless In White". XD
Factssss
literally saw that comment on the video
Yeah,i see it that in Nik Nocturnal's reaction
@@nyctophilex7 this is literally what the blegh guy said in his reaction. Can't remember his name lol.
We are just that old guys lol
There are some Bands that should just never change their sound. Breaking Benjamin is 100% one of them.
couldn't agree more. Their sound has been so steady for like 20+ years straight

The Diary of Jane is an all timer of a song

Easily one of if not the best vocalist in the hard rock scene.
I grew up with them since middle school, and they’ve always been solid. Do they push the envelope all the time, nope. Are they consistent and do they write solid music? Oh yeah! Can’t wait to do a drum cover of this song!
Just seen them again in concert this passed weekend and holy hell do they sound ever so good live! Truly one of the greats!
Breaking Benjamin was one of the bands that got me into metal and will always have a special place in my heart for it. Listen to them to this day, ever since Phobia.

Saturate: Sugarcoat
We Are Not Alone: Breakdown
Phobia: Had Enough
Dear Agony: Hopeless
Dark Before Dawn: Close To Heaven
Ember: Blood
But really nearly every song they put out is amazing.

Been watching your videos, sir. You never disappoint me ever. Thank you for helping me understand music in a whole another way

We are so back. Ben's screams are beyond nostalgia

Such a powerful song. About fighting suicide and finding a reason to live and still hearing the call of life ❤

Stay forever in the light is so Breaking Benjamin.

I'm Canadian too, and I listened to this band in high school... 😅 They were right behind Three Days Grace in how much I listened to them
I don’t listen to them much but i never skip when one of their songs come on ❤ Not one of my absolute favs but I do enjoy them, including this new song
I always
BB is a top 3 band for me, along with Chevelle. I don't care if they aren't the heaviest or most technical, it's quality and easy to listen to.
Saw them live in Vegas the other night before this dropped, they let us listen to it as we were leaving. They’re phenomenal live too 😎
The best thing about BB in my opinion how consistent their sound is, if you love an album, chances are you will love the rest of them.
I like that you reacts to this band, thanks you
My second favorite band ever, got into them after their first album came out in 2003 and been a fan ever since. They never miss.

Theyre it deserve so much respect
Always i love them, such good band
That's the great thing about it man it's ok to be wrong lol 10/10 🤘
Classic BB banger, glad you checked them out
If you like this song, you like all their other songs. It's great!!
Been waiting for this one. Breaking Benjamin was my Linkin Park growing up. They will always have a special place in my heart and this made me a little emotional to hear them again. ❤️
Drop A# actually. They been playing in that tuning for awhile. Their first few albums are in Drop C.
People are calling this new song heavier for BB but when I think of a heavy BB song I think of Red Cold River
Theres so much songs heavy
Blow me Away from Halo 2 was a solid one of their songs. If you played the Halo 2 campaign, you would have heard that one
Jase Rauch and Keith Wallen are both talented and amazing guitarists.
As a big BB i appreciate the review and i agree with you. I said its fine, its cool but its not my favorite BB song and for some reason I'm getting ripped apart for that take 😂
Been here since 2004 halo 2 before I knew who they were. ❤
There's no such things as Cons with Breaking Benjamin 👀
How anyone could be in the rock world and not be a BB fan is insane to me…
Edit: Ignore what I said. Didn’t catch the part where you said you just didn’t grow up hearing it. Mb mb
The song is in d minor/ f major so you're not far off with the drop d tuning assessment lol
5 years for the same old shit! Well we know who wrote this song!
Tourniquet
Red cold river
Topless
Blow me away
Check those out
Interesting
Starset x Breaking Benjamin collab next anyone?
Nah
@@ZoZo5oh 🤔
Never
Ben Burnley is a great vocalist. Chris Motionless can only wish he was Ben. Lol
You my friend are a jerkoff! Ben's shit has not changed in years. Same old shit.
I’m surprised you’re not a BB fan.
I'll give you a pass for not listening to BB but this is par for the course for BB heaviness. They have heavier songs.
Do you and Bogdan share a dog??
@metalbirb if u want heavier go back and listen to red cold river
I second this
I love BB. They get a lot of shit from the hardcore guys for being “too pop but trying to sound hard”. Seriously, you listen to “devil wing, Demon spit. Bloody pussy empty soul raaaaaawr”
