Personally, my favorite song is Ashes of Eden. Not a heavy or hard song my any stretch of the imagination, however its probably the best showcase of Bens vocals. Other than that, it's going to be between Diary of Jane or Dance with the Devil
Breaking Benjamin is a legendary band that deserve nothing else than respect. One of the best in they time and they genre. Also, this song is a solid banger. Can't wait for an album!
BB was my gateway to heavier music, as they were for a LOT of people. Nik put it perfectly “they are the heaviest band that aren’t meant to be heavy.” The low tunings, the occasional scream, the chugs. Everything got cemented at an extremely early age. They’ve been an all time favorite for me for as long as I can remember and I still blast their stuff regularly even if I still love my blasts. @MorcicRS Dark Before Dawn as well as Ember was Shaun Foist, and yeah I'm not exactly crazy about the drums on those albums but Hummel on the Saturate and We are not Alone, top BB in my book. Chad I kinda feel he was repetitive for the most part on drums but he did Hummels parts justice.
Breaking Benjamin was one of the bands that got me into metal and will always have a special place in my heart for it. Listen to them to this day, ever since Phobia.
This song is such a nostalgia trip and makes me so happy. I'm glad see that Ben's recovery is going well, he's coming back to singing those gorgeous rich vocals he's known for and the layering on this song is just... *happy fangirl squeak*. The last portion of the song where we get the scream and the clean layered - look, if this shows up on a video game OST somewhere, I wouldn't be surprised. *Looks at Halo* I'm just so happy to hear them creating music again. If you want to go check out songs like "Dance with the Devil", "Angels Fall", "Rain" - and the version of "Medicate" on the Saturate album, do not be surprised if you just end up binging every album because it's great music for brainstorming and storytelling.
The new elements is you don’t always get a guitar solo with their music. This is nostalgic, the huge sounding choruses they produce, but the heaviness comes from their last album Ember from 6 years ago. If you enjoyed this song you should really dive into their catalog, there’s fantastic songs in their ENTIRE discography
BB was one of the gateway bands for me. My friend who took his life last year absolutely loved this band. They will always hold a special place in my heart because of this.
I grew up with them since middle school, and they’ve always been solid. Do they push the envelope all the time, nope. Are they consistent and do they write solid music? Oh yeah! Can’t wait to do a drum cover of this song!
Was gonna say the same thing dude. You may not get anything groundbreaking and innovative but hell yeah you’re gonna get just a banger everytime! They are about as SOLID as you can get in the rock/metal genre. Just saw them a few weeks ago on tour with Staind and they were amazing. Definitely one of my favorites.

Breaking Benjamin is a fantastic band and they're the reason I got into rock and metal. I've so much love and nostalgia for these guys, and whilst they're not reinventing the wheel with their music, I've found them to be consistently solid throughout the years. I also had the privilege of seeing them live at Download Festival 2016, and that's something I'll never forget. If I had to pick a favourite BB song it'd have to be Firefly, as that's the song that got me into them.
Breaking Benjamin is fucking back and it's absolutely amazing. Fun fact for your one comment, Motionless in White has said on numerous occasions that Breaking Benjamin was a gigantic inspiration for their music!
Diary of Jane, I will not bow, Ashes of Eden, Dance with the Devil, Dear Agony, Anthem of the Angels are my favourite songs from Break-in Benjamin. They are one of the bands that helped my transition from hard rock into metalcore years ago, and then I got into melodic death metal and death core But, you also gotta check out the aurora versions of Dance with the Devil FT. Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace/Saint Asonia, and the version of Dear Agony with Lucy of Flyleaf.
Wasn't expecting Birb to react to BB. Biiig. BB is a band I will always enjoy. Been listening to them since I was a kid. This track is another solid banger from them. I believe their heaviest song is Red Cold River from Embers which is a banger album.
okay, I forgot about them for a while, diary of jane was one of my first ever favorite "heavy" songs and re-introduced me to heavy music, very glad they kept their classic sound. love it.
BB and Chevelle were the bands I grew up with from High School and now being in my late 30's. Chevelle still comes out with new sounds but also heavy shit, and glad to hear this one from BB.
I’m so glad they’re back and this song is so then. It’s the sound we fell in love with and they brought it back to us. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it lol
Iconic sound. Never change. Just went to their concert 2 days ago and they are even more phenomenal live. I bet this song goes straight to the top 25. Pucking AMAZING!

I fell in love with the sound of Breaking Benjamin when I was playing Halo2 at the age of 8. As a long time fan of BB I really enjoyed your unbiased review. Really informative and interesting to hear a fresh opinion on BB. Definitely check out more of their stuff! I would recommend Dear Agony for lyrics and meaning- Tourniquet for something heavier and The Diary of Jane for a classic banger.
I respect you a lot sir! Im a diehard fan and theyve inspired my own personal project but you give an honest answer its not their best but they gave it so much energy that its up there!

I don’t listen to them much but i never skip when one of their songs come on ❤ Not one of my absolute favs but I do enjoy them, including this new song
BB is my hands down my favorite band of all time. Brings back so many memories of my younger years been listening to them for over 30 years now and won't ever stop.
Favorite BB tracks in random order: - The Diary of Jane - Skin - Water - Home - Sugarcoat - Blood - Red Cold River - Torn in Two - Tourniquet By the way, those last 3 each have music videos that form a trilogy. And it is a must-see.
They have so many songs that are heavier and more driving than this…Blood, Breaking the Silence, Hopeless, Believe, Sugar Coat, Red Cold River and Tourniquet just to name a few…but the sweeping is new and a welcomed addition 🤟🏻
Their album We Are Not Alone is absolutely amazing. I grew up with this band and I haven’t heard a song that I didn’t like. Ben’s vocals are just incredible. The song So Cold on this album is top tier.
I am one of those fans that have been there since 2002’a “Saturate” and their sound overtime, while not groundbreaking, has evolved in small baby steps. This track drew me back in to the days of being young with ambitions and this track rears its’ head to give me that certain hope. To me, based off my experience over the years, the track is a solid 9/10 for myself.
Diary of Jane is so good everytime i listen to it, even at the thousandth listen. Their album 'Phobia' as a whole is fantastic, its an album i grew up with along with evanescence. I listen to a lot heavier and different music now but they were a stepping stone for me and their music fills me with the utmost nostalgia.

You need to go listen to the Phobia album. MIW and BB are from the same valley in northeast Pennsylvania. BB are fro. Wilkes-Barre, Pa and MIW are from Scranton, Pa. Same valley, same scene.
My second favorite band ever, got into them after their first album came out in 2003 and been a fan ever since. They never miss. As far as my favorite BB song, thats a toughie. Id go with "Never Again."
Not going to lie, Im a Death core fan but some of these hard rock bands from the 2000s got me hooked. Breaking Benjamin is definitely one of them. Kinda freaks my friends out when we are hanging out and it goes from Ingested to breaking benjamin or Chevelle.
Breaking Benjamin now has Red's ex guitarist, and they've always been criminally underrated in my opinion. Makes perfect sense as to why they'd have some heavier leaning guitars in this. I thought it was pretty good myself
This is classis Breaking Benjamin but definitely heavy. Love this song so much. He pulled out a lot of great aspects to his vocals, instruments and lyrics.
Red Cold River and Torn in Two, and Tourniquet connect for the music videos and all 3 are absolute bangers! Storyline for these are a little girl goes missing and her father goes on a journey to find her and all hell breaks loose!! (IYKYK) 🔥🔥🔥 (corrected to include all parts of the trilogy)
To give you the contex quickly. They haven't released a new heavy song of this caliber since their olds albums dear agony and phobia , their old song blow me away and their newest album ember. So for the band is another step up in their music and for the fans? Another trip to memory land. And what you say about the different arragememts in their guitars and vocals, is absolutely right. Great for the band my man 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cool reaction mate. I've been with BB since Halo 2, but in terms of the context you're looking for, I'm not sure it even fully clicked for me until I saw them with Bush and Alice in Chains. Hearing them play live in between their two main influences (one ultimately bigger, one ultimate smaller) really clenched it for me--this is the heaviest band that could still live comfortably on the radio. Somehow someway the terrible injustice of considering them to be something Creed or Nickelback-esque crept in after the endless overplaying of Diary of Jane in every mall's Hot Topic, but the context of the albums themselves destroys that illusion. They don't rush or release mediocre material, ever. I think this discography of seven, or maybe eight if we are very fortunate, is going to be looked back upon as something sculpted in marble.
It's a very good song, and it fits with the rest of the discography very well. Breaking Benjamin is a band that doesn't mess with their sound much, and they're very consistent with the quality as well. A few songs that I you might consider checking out are Waiting On The Sky To Change (collaboration with Starset), Red Cold River, Failure (I prefer the Aurora/acoustic version with Red, but you can't go wrong either), Firefly, Breath, and Unknown Soldier.
I’ve been a fan of BB since middle school (I’m 28 👴🏻), and I gotta say, I LOVE this change. I’ve always loved their music, but I always felt like the instrumentals lacked just a bit of…. Heaviness I guess? This is perfect to me. Still breaking Benjamin with phenomenal vocals, but now mixed with heavier guitars and a breakdown. This is absolute perfection imo.
Most people I see commenting on Breaking Benjamin are youngins...they are saying they were teens back in 2000..sheez...I was 30 when Phobia came out in 2006 and they were huge on the radio along with Creed and 12 Stones. I went back into their older stuff after hearing Diary Of Jane on the radio and got hooked on them. Followed them through the Dear Agony record then the bassist and guitarist went behind Ben's back and took the Halo 2 song Blow Me Away and started charging for downloads without permission from Ben. Legal battles came for years and those 2 got kicked out the band. Also the drummer left the band too for creative differences. They reformed and came back 10 years later in 2015. This song to me has a lot of mix from their sounds over the years which is great as they are still sticking to the rock edge that we all know and love...great to see them back along with 3 Days Grace back with their original singer and Crossfade getting back together too 😎🤘👍
Breakin Benjamin have been around since the early 2000s and, which is a common criticism, they have been consistent with their sound since then. And for some, especially in modern music (maybe for some exceptions), BBs music basically follows the typical song formula of intro, verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus 2, bridge, end chorus. But I love that about them. Breaking Benjamin is the one band I have the exception for that I want them to stay same. They have done so well sticking to their sound that if they deviated away from it suddenly, I don't think I would enjoy them. This is mainly a heads up if you ever dive into their discography. To me, they're all amazing but their most popular one is Phobia. Lots of good songs on that album!
They were definitely one of my gateway bands into heavier music! You should check out Red Cold River or Ashes of Eden those are good examples of there parallels
What is Breaking Benjamin's best song in your opinion?

Breaking Benjamin now has Red's ex guitarist, and they've always been criminally underrated in my opinion. Makes perfect sense as to why they'd have some heavier leaning guitars in this. I thought it was pretty good myself
Red actually gets surprisingly heavy if you dive into some of their lesser known songs.
Classic BB banger, glad you checked them out
Always i love them, such good band
very true to their roots BB is goated
The best thing about BB in my opinion how consistent their sound is, if you love an album, chances are you will love the rest of them.
I think that is an incredible "change" for a band like them. I'm a huge fan of "We are not alone" album, but this is really interesting.
THIS IS MY VICTORY SONG ❤❤❤❤❤ THIS IS THE STATEMENT OF 2024❤❤❤❤
Breaking Benjamin - Blood is their heavest song theave done.
That’s true. Well that one or Breaking The Silence
Thanks to BB, I started to listen to Shadow of intent. This is not a joke. BB brought the concept of "heavy" in my music taste
I love BB. Yeah they’re not extremely heavy, but they’re so consistent, catchy, and iconic. Polyamorous is my favorite track by them!
Check out their album "Phobia". It's legitimately in my top 3 favorite albums of all time.
This song to me has a lot of mix from their sounds over the years which is great as they are still sticking to the rock edge that we all know and love...great to see them back along with 3 Days Grace back with their original singer and Crossfade getting back together too 😎🤘👍
GOATED Band
This band has always ruled
I think you would enjoy the songs on Dear Agony. The drumming is top tier and awesome guitar riffs too. Much darker vibe
How could you not be a fan of them?
I love Breaking Benny!!
They were definitely one of my gateway bands into heavier music! You should check out Red Cold River or Ashes of Eden those are good examples of there parallels
Theyre it deserve so much respect
Breath and Until the End are what you should try to get into for the band
Ben is a goated vocalist
