Abortion has been plaguing my mind as of late and I needed something like this new song to cheer me up. BTW 22 percent of all conceived children are killed that way. Its genocide and there's no way around it.
These guys got started two decades ago right here in NE Pennsylvania. The frontman clearly paid attention in music-theory class, and the band has continued adding an ever-modern sound to his core songwriting prowess. I mean, it's a Breaking Benjamin tune. Does what it says on the tin. Their back catalog is full of bangers like this, so happy digging...
Everyone always says they sound like Motionless which sucks because these guys came before, and even Motionless and Chris said they took inspiration from BB. But, great reaction as always! Super nostalgic sound, it's refreshing!
"chilled slappage" is a hilariously accurate descriptor lmao. They are one of the few bands that has not changed their sound for decades (they caught their sound with We Are Not Alone, and they perfected their sound with Dear Agony) and it still sounds fresh and exciting every time
Breaking Benjamin is truly the 2000s rock band that never leaves the 2000s. Saw them live with disturbed a few months ago and man, still in their prime. Top 5 bands OAT
Their first album Saturate is incredible. No extra production, just a pure guitar band at it's very best. A lot more raw and experimental than what came after, but definitely worth a listen!
If you like this song, you'll enjoy their other work as well. One of the most consistent bands out there who haven't strayed too far from their core sound, and they've really perfected it over the years. Great reaction!
Diary of Jane and Blow me Away as a teen were awesome songs. React to those they are absolute bangers. I personally didnt even know they were still around. Pretty cool that they are.
Breaking Benjamin is the perfect gateway band (along Linkin Park), it got so many people into Metal, including me. But it's not only that, despite not having majorly changed their style, I never get bored of listening to Bens music because it's so good aswell. I am so glad they released something new after so many years. I highly recommend you to listen to one of their first albums: Phobia. I remember hearing BB with So Cold and other "We Are Not Alone" singles back in 02 03 as a 8/9 year old and falling in love. Probably one of my biggest influences and favorite bands of all time.
I love their new single Awaken! BB has been my number one band since 2004, and Phobia is my favorite album by them. I’d love to see you react to their discography! Their first 4 albums are the absolute best ❤
Yes! I heard them in halo 2 and they've been my favorite band every since. They're one of the only bands that I listen to that I like every one of their songs (except ladybug) haha
What a great song. I was huge into their first couple albums, then I feel like I just didnt keep up with their other releases... Im really glad I came to this video to check it out :D
Dam right all their songs are good, not a single bad one ever, if this was added to a breaking Benjamin Playlist and you heard it, you wouldn't know it came out in 2024, you would think it's from the 2000s
Awaken doesn't sound like a vast new style or direction or anything, it sounds like quintessential Breaking Benjamin, and it's so good. Just shows off everything people already like about the band that they've already perfected.
My favourite 2 recent Breaking Benjamin songs are "Breaking the Silence" from their "Dark Before Dawn" album and "Torn in Two" from their "Ember" album. You really should listen to their older stuff, which is heavier IMO. Unfortunately, Ben Burnley has aerophobia (fear of flying), so you won't be seeing them tour outside of the USA & Canada. For a nice change of pace Breaking Benjamin song, I suggest that you listen to their "Dear Agony" (Aurora Version) tune from the Aurora album circa 2020. It features Ben and Lacey Sturm (formerly of Flyleaf) in a duet. That song is so F'ing good, gives me the chills every time I hear it. It's not a banger, more a sad feels type tune. Everything can't be a banger, right? 🤷♂
Lets get something very clear, Breaking Benjamin has been around since 2001 and a big inspiration to motionless in white, Ben Burnley's voice is iconic
Was a little offended when he said “creed?” Nah man. Breaking Benjamin. This is THEIR chorus sound. Pretty much every chorus of every song has this quality. It’s perfection.
If you loved this song… their last album EMBER which was 6 years ago is very similar to a lot of the structure of this. I would suggest listening to that album in its entirety, and then going farther back to their discography. If there is one thing that this band is amazing at it’s epic chorus, and really catchy music and consistent without question., a band I’m a fan of 100%
Surprised you never listened to them. MiW are basically influenced by them, mostly in their latest album, not so much before that and also not in the other way around. Lastly, they didn't change their sound and they shouldn't :D

Edit: I commented this and instantly after you said it sounds like Motionless in White, when its the other way around. Motionless in White sound like Breaking Benjamin lol. Also I would like to put out there that most of breaking Benjamin songs POST-PHOBIA sound very similar to each other but those first two albums at a bit of a different style than most other breaking Benjamin songs, I would love to see them revisit the Saturate album sound 🔥🔥
You probably should change your thumbnail because that’s the old band that disbanded in 2010 over Blow Me Away release with the female vocalist without Ben’s permission when he was trying to get healthy.
I used to love Breaking Benjamin back when I was in my hard rock phase as a young adult. Chevelle was pretty good too. I won't knock their talent or success, but after gorging myself on every scrap of modern metal I could get my hands on, the simplicity and restraint just kinda turn me off.
