@@Nahelus Well, I actually do plan to make music one day. I've got 11 songs for the first album written down, and when I'm independent and financially ready, I'm building myself a studio.
Jeeze louise, it's like the 2000s are coming back in full force. Skillet just released their single, a new BB song, Creed's reunited, Adam Gontier's back in Three Days Grace, Linkin Park's making new music. I feel like a kid again!
Want your mind blown - Bush just released a new album a few months back. And it is really good. All these bands with grunge/post-grunge foundations are coming back and I love it.
I didn't realize that about Three Days Grace. That's exciting. And man I used to loved Skillet but they've gone a little coo coo lately from what I've seen.
I’m not even a singer but watching your videos gives me such a different appreciation for songs I enjoy when I realise how much work goes into them. Thanks for all that you do
I'm a long time BB fan and this single hits like a classic BB single release! So many elements of songs I've grown up with and loved like Diary of Jane, Breath, Blow Me Away, I Will Not Bow, Angels Fall, Red Cold River and Torn in Two! Your analysis of this song is spot on Chris. Well done!
I've seen you before Chris, especially videos on Breaking Benjamin singing style in the past. Not only is your video much more about the actual style, the sound and uniquely, far much more about how he produce his signature style. Unlike a lot others, you really delve deep and appreciate the way he sings. Very refreshing!
Ben Burnley has been a huge influence on me ever since I was in middle school. His vocal tambre is so good. Very Celtic which resonates with me even more. I also like his writing style too. Awesome!
I am so glad i saw this. I don't know how many times I've replayed this song over and over. Your reaction and analysis made me giddy AGAIN, for how i reacted to seeing this song come out and with my first listen. I wanted to cry just seeing this cause of my love for breaking benjamin, i saw that same thing in you. It makes me so happy with your breakdown (pun intended) and feelings on this song. I'm looking forward to the rest of the album
Very few reactors to music dish out tips to practice something new or well-known when it comes to being a vocalist. This gentleman is certainly a master in his own right! Loved this video.
So glad you got to see Daughtry and Breaking Benjamin in concert Chris!! I’ve been a fan of both bands since the start, Ben Burnley has one of those voices that blows my mind. He has such control with his cleans and his screams, it’s just amazing how he’s gotten better with age but still has that classic sound. Dive into their discography if you have not ITS WORTH IT 💯
I've seen Breaking Benjamin a few times. Been a while though last time was back in 2008. But always love Ben's voice. He does very unique things with it. And his screams so full of thick goodness. Great analysis.
Wow that was exciting 🔥 Arriving so late to the metal party, my ability to truly appreciate and even participate is largely due to these passionate, enthusiastic reactions and breakdowns. 🙏🥰
Breaking Benjamin was the band that made me AWAKEN and sort of love music. Breaking Benjamin, then Seether. Then I opened up into even things like singer-songwriter, and K-Pop haha. Excellent breakdown. Watching your videos, it is so educational. I take notes. I am still a poop singer and musician, but damn does BB and your insightful breakdowns make me want to try harder. Awesome!
I saw Ben and the boys live for the first time after having been a fan since Dear Agony. It was the most emotionally fulfilling thing I've experienced in years. I was finally happy again. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't care about music at all , let alone having pursued learning guitar.
Has to be one of the best, if not THE best, reviews I've seen on this song. Your analysis on the vocals really helped me to understand how Ben is knocking these notes out. Great job on this one!
That's what a lot of us love about Breaking Benjamin is the fact that they have the theme of going on even whenever it's really really hard❤ BB helps a lot of us carry on
Great observations all around. I really hope I get to see them live one day! It's really cool to hear some really in depth explanations for the vocal techniques. This is what a reaction video should be.
Best react ever!!!!!! All the reactors should have this emotion! This what a real music fan feel the music, the empathy with the lyrics and the emotion! Real well done my friend 🤟
As awesome & popular as BB is, it still feels like your secret fav band. They've basically kept that same formula of song writing w/ awesome lyrics, melodies & riffs. Some bands go through an "experimental" stage to try and create something different but if it ain't broke...
Social anxiety fears this man.. first video iv ever watched of you and I have NEVER seen such pure passion from someone on the internet like you. You are truley amazing my man
Glad they are back. The band that inspired me to first learn guitar a good 10 years back, now the band that is reigniting my desire to learn how to sing and learn heavier techniques along the way. So pumped for this album when it drops, this song had such a 2000's nostalgic feel to it while feeling fresh and modern.
BB was one of the first concerts I ever went to back in 2007. I was amazed how they sounded better than their studio recordings to me. I was in absolute awe at Ben's voice and still am.
I've loved BB from the beginning ❤ I LOVE this new stuff....as good as anything they've EVER done. I get chills and JUST as excited about your breakdowns and critiques as you are while I'm watching🤘🤘🤘 Carry on!!!!
I’ve always wondered what he was doing with his voice! I’ve seen him live six times and he truly is this talented. You are so informative and your approach for vocal examples explains so much.
Love watching the reactions to new songs and seeing people love it just as much as I do! You being a vocal coach and breaking it down adds another element that is so awesome. Subscribed!
God I ADORE your enthusiasm dissecting Ben's vocals. His screams and growls and mastery over distortion have always been one of my favorite things in music, but they get dismissed as generic butt-rock so much. That excitement is so validating and refreshing. I am over the moon about this track. It feels enough like old school BB that I feel ten years younger, man.
Man seeing you figure out the "call of life" section in the last chorus in real time was so cool! Seeing what worked and what didn't, and just playing with your voice until you had it, really amazing work!
Breaking Benjamin has been my favorite ban since I was 13. 20 years later and now my kids are just as hooked on them. Ben knows how to write music that everyone likes. I can't wait for the full album release!.
I’ve been in love with Ben’s vocals for years and didn’t understand why until recently, even more so after watching this. I hear a lot of subtle hints of R&B/soul inspiration in his singing and the way he plays with placement and brightness, which I think has a lot to do with why it carries so much emotional depth and dimension. 👌🏼 Couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve put on a Breaking Benjamin track and looked for the higher harmony line to try to emulate some of the things he does in my vocal range. One of my recent fixations is the way he says “irony” in the chorus of “Follow”. *chef’s kiss*
I missed for Breaking Benjamin on this channel, thank you for the video 😊 This is my favourite band, they are the reason why I started learning singing and playing guitar also watching vocal analysis on your channel
Am I the only one that thinks you got emotional? If you did, this can tell how much impact music can have to someone. I for sure became emotional watching you reacting to the music haha. Great analysis btw.
Shoot! You saw Daughtry?? I've been loving their song "THE DAM" from their latest EP! I have no idea if they played that song when you were there, but it'd be cool to know your thoughts on that song in particular considering there's really solid scream in there! (Even better live too!)
Have a question - or rather curious about an opinion. With all this coming back of the post-grunge/nu-metal bands. I think there are a lot of reasons, but it does seem like the bands that are being "discovered" again have one thing in common in that they do not sing in that high tenor vocal range. Listening to a younger producer doing reaction vid as he discovered 90's grunge and he was astounded that none of the men sang high tenor, "They actually sing in a natural male range." He found it rather refreshing. So, guys bands like BB, 3DG with Adam, Crossfade, Creed, Bush, and even Linkin Park - obviously not Emily but Mike is not particularly tenor in his vocals - Chris Daughtry is singing in the lower part of his range quite a bit in The Dam - it is as if younger audiences are discovering more baritone and even upper bass male singers again. (Along with nostalgia and people listening to the bands who influenced guys like Chris Motionless and Dustin Bates.)
Saw these guys on the opening night of their tour with Staind last month in Pittsburgh. They still kill it. Ecstatic to get more music from them and hope I get to see them again soon
Ben has got to have one of the most technically clean on point vocals. Sounds like it would be hard as hell to maintain but bro does it live live its as easy as making tea.
Just saw them a few weeks ago in California. We had to leave extremely disappointed their audio engineer had the instruments turned up so loud we couldn’t even hear him sing. The vibration in the crowd from the speakers was deafening. I can’t believe we had to walk away because it literally hurt to listen to.
Hey Chris! I’m not sure if anyone’s suggested this yet but while we wait for the next Breaking Benjamin single to drop, Keith Wallen, one of the guitarist for Breaking Benjamin, has his own solo music and he’s a greattt vocalist and songwriter and you should check him out if you haven’t already! He’s the one you hear on the high harmonies on the choruses 6:52.
That was cool seeing you work out the high part in real time until it perfectly clicked. Also loved to see how much you were physically feeling this one.

The way he goes high on the last “call of life “ in the last chorus is straight chills
that higher part perfectly bookends with the lower guitars in that outro too
Breaking Benjamin is the reason I want to make music one day. Ben's vocal style is the most comfortable to sing. I absolutely love this song.

I didn't realize that about Three Days Grace. That's exciting. And man I used to loved Skillet but they've gone a little coo coo lately from what I've seen.
Chris, we’d all like to take a second to recognize how super talented you are just by being able to dissect a vocal performance in seconds.

I agree 😂
Ben has my favorite screams out of anyone on this planet. Always just sounds so primal

They’re back baby!! That chorus rips and the harmonies have become a trademark of theirs. Theres at least 3 of them doing vocals most times if not 4
Ben looooves to layer harmonies in the studio so he needs atleast 2 backing vocalists at all time😂😂
I've seen you before Chris, especially videos on Breaking Benjamin singing style in the past.
